This is a classy, awesome song by a class, awesome lady, Aubrey Johnson. We went to school together in college and she does some fantastic stuff with jazz, and she obviously has a very tight-knit group of musicians to work with here. Here next album comes out on March 20, 2020, so definitely give this one a listen! Link to the original video: ua-cam.com/video/jPEGR6rwo0M/v-deo.html Here's a lin...

I remember watching this movie back in the 80's called Johnny Dangerously.
1:23 I like the way they say hey
As noticed weird Al dances in his animated form He is famously known for the captain underpants theme song

It’s a reference to the Lady Gaga song, Poker Face Speaking of the bubble guppies, they made a reference to Poker Face called pencil case
True story, I found that location by accident as a teenaged urban spelunker. There was a freight rail line (now known as Highline Park in Manhattan) that delivered meat to the lower west side plants. I found all the debris, thought I saw a party site, then saw the video on NBC's Rockin' America the next weekend, and said "Holy fuuuuuuuu-!"!
Sorry, but "Stomp" got its idea from these guys. This song predates "Stomp" by 5-6 years (I think).
The most amazing part to me is the smooth transition between each song.
Not a tap dance, but playing spoons, but cha' pro'ly figgert that out awe-ready.
I wanted to like your video. Great song. Great video. Constructive criticism: Let the music play, and shorten your video by a couple of minutes.
This crossed over into the Hip-Hop world when it first came out. They are literally breaking the old music to bring in the new.
Just an epic performance. How that drum kit survived Bill Ward's punishment I will never understand
This maybe my favorite Weird Al video. It's not the funniest parody, but it just really showcases his talent so well. His lyrics are fantastic, his voice sounds great here, and it just does a wonderful job of just letting Al's personality and huge charisma shine through. Ands it's a fantastic song as well.
Location is now part of THE HIGH LINE Park in Manhattan....
The live version is much better.
BUT THE MUSIC YOUR LISTENING TO IS NOT CLOSE TO THE EDIT, IT'S BEATBOX. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL ALBUM AND THE MIX TAPE.
Close (to the Edit) is a pun-like play on the title to epic progressive rock Yes album "Close to the Edge". Perhaps it was used in irony because that particular album was made during a particular time when rock was in a "classic" period and all the music was made by real musicians with real instruments. Contrast this piece and its heavy use of samples and editing to create the music. Trevor Horn performs and plays on this song/album and was in Yes in 1980 and was a producer of Yes when 90125 was released in 1983.
We always called it ummmpaah paaah 😂
kpop korea, jpop japon , they're japanese
This is one of John Goodman's best movies ever. His character is the most lovable Everyman since "Marty."
The scene in the movie is a lip-synch contest.
Beautiful song, great reaction.
Her neck looks like a worm crawling out of the ground during a rainstorm or something.
You don't need to say how many songs there are.
Woah
Love this song .
I had my son watch Johnny Dangerously a few years ago, and he walked oround calling people "farging iceholes" and "bastiges" for weeks afterwards
I love Weird Al. Still haven't seen him live yev
The video with the guys destroying acoustic instruments and shredding them to pieces pretty much is what The Art of Noise did with music as well. Especially in their early days they barely used any "real" instruments - the drums, the "Dunnn", all the other instruments are either completely synthetic or samples of real instruments cut to pieces and rearranged. Someone further down wrote that in the heart of the art is the deconstruction of music - and yes. That's it! :) And they were well aware of it too. It's something you just did, back when electronic music was still new and unheard of - you suddenly could do things with sounds that are impossible with acoustic instruments and in the early days the people who were able to even afford synthesizers or a little later samplers of course at first spent some time pretty much toying around with all the new possibilities to see what they can do with them. You had the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in the UK in the 60s - from their laboratory came, amongst other stuff, the Doctor Who theme that's still in use today (in new arrangements). Germany had Kraftwerk ("The Man Machine, "Trans Europe Express", "Computerworld") and Tangerine Dream ("Phaedra") in the 70s and on - the former doing music like an architect does his designs with rulers and straight lines, the latter more like someone painting with aquarell colours. France, of course, had Jean Michael Jarre who created his very own style that was spacey and fantastic ("Oxygene") and even Switzerland came up with their own Electro Pioneers with Yello and their weird and wonderful mixture of electro and latin influences ("Pinball Chacha", "The Race", "Oh Yeah!"...) Then there was the second and third generations with bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, A-Ha, Front 242... Now we finally arrived at a time where there's people making electronic music who don't even know the early pioneers - until not too long ago everyone would have named at least one or more of them as their main influence. :) It's a fascinating topic to look into when one at least finds electronic sounds a BIT interesting - there hasn't been such big a evolution in music since Rock'n'Roll first was invented.
I am from Michigan originally
Skat was created by Louis Armstrong
Weird Al's song about living the ritzy lifestyle. I've gotten to see him perform twice in concert once with my friends and then later with my son
Awesome.
You miss the whole concept it's about people being there for you and the times are rough
Part of the movie. It's great.
I wonder how you would have reacted to just the song, without the video.
Nice, genuine reaction. Same thing I do when I listen to it.
If you liek alternative music in combination with alternative musical 'instruments' I would recommend ua-cam.com/video/FwxCJ4kUDks/v-deo.html
Violin , Sax , Double bass , wire clippers . Sounds like the commentary on Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield . Lol
Hey! It's been over a year! Get on it! You're fun to watch!
the news report at the end of the video realy hits hard,it's the average number of people per day to die from sui*ide, this video raised so much awareness in the days before any popular internet social media and saved so many lives
Weird Al is alllllllllways spitting. Loved your joy!
You're groovy cool . Love your smile. Like A Surgeon is great.
When I need to cry, I watch their video. Thank you for giving out the phone number and offering support. Sometimes, that’s all a person needs. This may have saved a life. 🤗🤗
If you can listen to this song without getting emotional somethings wrong with you.

i am always glad to find a first reaction/response to Art Of Noise (a rarity indeed) because i'm an avid listener/collector of theirs ever since their first musical release.. "dating myself" i'm sure, i recall the reactions to this video to some as "horrifyingly appalling", "the destruction of the foundation of music itself" etc etc.. as a musician since childhood, i found the reactions back then a bit "over the top".. what is fascinating is how Anne Dudley (AoN member), a highly acclaimed pianist/orchestral writer (her soundtracks through the decades speak for themselves), added authentic musical life instrumentally as the group evolved.. i always highly recommend (yet have never seen/heard anyone dare to) doing a "first listen" video of their 1988 song "Island" off their album "Below The Waste".. absolutely beautiful, my favorite Art of Noise song still after all these decades! i think, compared to this song, the musical evolution over only several years shows how there is a beautiful balance of piano, orchestration & slight electronic meddling that blended into that musical paradise masterpiece!
chainsaw "instrument": The Plasmatics - Butcher Baby. "Adult" content
Thanks for the facts at the end. Awesome! <3
"Wow what a venue".... Babymetal played to 110,000 fans over 2 days. They're absolutely HUUUUUUUGE in Japan.
