The '?' mark on the compass may lead you to POI's to find samples and other stuff. The gatling barrage cannot destroy bug holes, but normally does decent damage on weaker enemies. It is nearly impossible to solo on higher difs in my opinion. But when you got the right loadout, it is manageable. I have the most fun on lvl 4,5,6. The diamond shapes on your map can appear after getting close to a POI or after completing a LIDAR (radar station), that which will reveal all available POI's on the map. Reloading before a mag is empty, reloads the gun faster.

try to use aim down sights with the lmg, it helps aton and looks and feels cool when u reload in first person. holding down R lets you adjust settings on "most weapons and gear"
