I'm really pleased to see that after the Sharks decide to suck so bad last year they were able to draft celebrini with the first overall pick. The Sharks as a whole are definitely better this year than they were last year although they still are a pretty bad team but maybe there's a reason to have some more hope and optimism for the future. I just hope they don't blow their chance again. The Sharks were such a dominant team throughout most of the 21st century and had gone to the playoffs nearly every year and while in 2015 they had an uncharacteristic year where they missed the playoffs in 2016 it seemed like because expectations weren't really there as much, they made it to the playoffs and made it all the way to the Stanley cup final but while I was expecting him to lose to the penguins at least they put a fight. It sucks that they haven't gone back. The fact is I knew that their window of opportunity was ending. The players that made them so good for so long were getting old and they were all going to retire soon. it's sad that in 2019 they well they managed to eliminate the Vegas golden knights in the first round and then the Colorado avalanche in the second round but they just got demolished by the Saint Louis blues in the western final and then they haven't been to the playoffs ever since. Hopefully they do a lot better soon

Been a Sharks fan since the playoffs series they lost to Dallas in 4 OT. What a bittersweet moment seeing them make it to the final. I've come back to hockey after being emotionally exhausted of the sport for 6 years. Celebrini brings a lot of hope, he is the future!

NYR were never really contenders, just pretenders. They had a defense by committee with a 3rd defenseman (Fox, who on a contender would be the best defenseman on the second pairing) and no 1C. They have the 1G in Shesterkin. So their non-skaters were excellent but the skaters not only lacked contender positions filled, they also lacked a captain and co-captains with heart. Without the 1C, they can never get past a team like Florida who does have the 1C and the 1G, who have a defense corps that matches up with NYR.

I don't think he's a dud, not by a long shot. But he's not generational player the way they've been talking for the last couple years. He's got a lot of maturing to do, that's not a knock, he's still a kid, but it's reality. He'll figure it out, he's got time.

They never played at the Cow Palace. The San Francisco Seals of the WHL did, but not the Oakland/California (Golden) Seals of the NHL. The San Jose Sharks definitely did though.

Honestly hockey would be better with less rules less safty and more fighting. A lot of the really bad dirty hits come from unresolved anger if they can just fight it out there’s no need for a sneaky head check

Rangers were poorly constructed started from 2017, they only managed to make to the qualifying round due to covid so they missed 4 seasons of playoffs. Then for the next 3 seasons that the team was carried by Shester. Much like how Lundqvist used to do, but he struggled this season and then the team just sucked.

Drury has a good eye for the issues on the team. That 5v5 xGF% was never going to hold up long term its amazing it got them as far as it did. The statistical improbability of last season, between the Rangers being as good as they were and the Capitals making the postseason, tells me the fabric of reality is slowly starting to unravel. Still, he spotted a problem that was definitely going to rupture. But seeing a problem is a battle, executing on it is a whole war. You now have opposition, people trying to outdo and destroy you. Take advantage of you. Its no longer about hockey alone. The skillset required is entirely different. He's got a sharp hockey mind, yes. But he also has the social skills of an imaginary person with a Josef Stalin personality profile who's coming off two severe concussions in two days and a bad breakup. What I mean to say is: He should NOT be talking to anyone. Ever. Do not let him try to work the NY media. He will lose. Do not let him try to use his "charisma" if you can call it that, on NHL GM's. They are 10x the salesmen he is. His own +/- as a GM is horrific so far. And by god never let the man near a fax machine. He took the hottest technology of 1977 and blew his team up with it. Dont let him say hello to the janitors. Dont let him talk to his wife or kids. Dont let him talk to himself. Its just too dangerous. Metal Gear Solid V Quiet is far less vocally dangerous, and she could cause a global extinction event. You should put him in a shoebox office in the back corner where he can analyze things for you, but for the love of god do not let him open his mouth. Get him out at the end of the season, let him go over your data, and then put him back. Return him back to cryogenic stasis until you need him again.
