Fantastic video. I was aware of this club and i was thinking of going to this event but i had other commitments which meant i couldn't. I really enjoyed learning and seeing more of the club building and what facilities they had. It really is rather special. A good show to boot with a nice Garnet MG SV and some interesting Viva HB's. Thanks for sharing what this club does.

Absolutely gorgeous. Please drive it. I hate to see such amazing machines slowly rot away on a trailer or in a garage. Cars need to be driven, race cars doubly so.

I have so many great memories with the mk2 cavalier gls because it belonged to my grandad then he bought the astra and gave my dad the mk2 cavalier, and I remember all the trips out in it and the time I went to Devon in it and it was amazing hopefully I can buy myself one when I'm old enough to drive

It is indeed the oldest, (known), survivor. I've been in the motor trade/classic cars for decades and first came across this around 2018/19, with the said claims being stated. I thought it was nonsense at the time, also believing that 'LOU' was the oldest Cavalier left, (both signal yellow). Still, you can always end up looking like a bumbling amateur, no matter how much you (think that you) know.🙄😅 It is indeed a two-owner car, (one owner from new for decades), with original miles, and is in V.G.C. The only negative, (for me personally), is that it has a towbar fitted, hence the number plate has been moved to between the rear lights à la Ascona B, covering the Vauxhall script and black panel. The Cavalier GL saloon was one of those rare instances where nearly everything was 'right' first time. If I'm not mistaken, (apart from the 1.9 engine being replaced - the '1584cc' remained throughout production), the *only* things that were added/changed during its run from '75 to '81, were a tachometer, (the GLS dials), headrests, and a passenger door mirror.

Always loved the Astra F Estate, bought the wife a 1.7 TDi Isuzu diesel for her 25th birthday in 1991. Loved it. Bought 3 days ago ( 20/4/23) a 1993 turquoise/blue 1.4i LS for £533 from the auction house I work at. Immaculate wheel arches. Just love it. Needs a few bits doing but the body is gorgeous. Its gonna share daily duties with my other estate, an Audi RS6 5.0l V10 572bhp…… yes, I am mad. Yours is stunning, not mad on white cars to be fair but a stunner. Well done with the mudflaps , always fit them to every car Ive owned. Just finish the look off and are practical.

Had a green Cavalier Coupe i.9 in the early 1980's Lovely car. Shape comfort, performance and handling all great. But then the needle roller at the end of layshaft disintegrated and welded the layshaft to the flywheel! Fixed it OK and carried on.

Brings back memories, my dad had YRU600K the same colour as this one a 2300 SL. I bought an 1800 ES special edition HTR97L i owned it in 1975 and swapped it in 1976 for a 1600 GT Capri the Vauxhall only had around 20,000 miles when i sold it, it used to rot the end silencer after 5000 miles as it only got a long run 1-2 times a month the longest trip i did was from Poole via Southampton to the other side of Paris.

I had all of these... Great cars. Especially the MkI Cavaliers. Loved them. Incredibly solid and reliable. I had three. And two MkII's. Also had...a Rekord, Commodore, Manta, and Royale.
