    In addition, LFP chemistry is more or less fireproof. Tests where they are punctured or crushed show that none has caught on fire or even warmed.

    You guys don't seem to be in touch with the real world from my impression.... no other comments in 3 weeks ! wow. Well due to this transision and the spending of 200+ Billion dollars every day INFLATION has skyrocketed, you can't spend Insane money like this and not expect inflation to spike. So with the Inflaation and Interest Rates being higher now EV's are just too expensive for the majority of us. They are too expensive up front and on the back end. Heck even recharging your battery is on par wtih that of Gasoline. EV's are not fit for purpose. They are toys for the Rich who don't ever get a flat tire it seems (as there is no spair wheel tire in an EVs ! ), EV's are for the Rich who drive them and Never Ever get into minor accidents and have to fix\Repair them out side of warranty! Good Luck with that. EV's are for the Rich who buy the latest greatest shiny object and Tech. only to get board in 2 to 3 years and trade it in for the next more gadget laden car and let the next guy deal with the depriciation issues. Glad you guys are on board with this and have good incomes to support them. As I don't care what anyone does I don't care about this whole disaster of a mess I just don't want to have to pay for a finincially well off persons Toy. Or Pay for the increased Insurance that is going up because of them. Or pay for the higher rate of Electricity as down here in San Diego as our electricity rate is insane ! Nothing is going to get better till we stop all this spending and go back to want made us properous ! If the rest of the world is profitable and trying to climb up economically Gas and Oil are the answer for Energy. Now if you want to talk about Power Plants and Nuclear I will subscribe as everything EV growth wise is stalled as the EV lies have all caught up. Can't wait for laws to catch up and ban them from Car Parks, parking lots and Public Monuments, and or Outside wilderness areas. As just one fire at the Grand Canyon or any forest will put a stop to all this. Ev's are not safe, just ask all the peopel that died due to electric door locks that locked them inside a burning inferno ! Again EV's not fit for purpose.

    Yeah you try to change the single cell battery over $20,000? Changing a single battery from a regular car is only for $67

    I think as there are more and more EV charging infrastructure being built. PHEV in the future should be more like a BEV instead of an ICE car. It should has a bigger battery that allows to be charged with faster DC charger and on board ac charger could be dispose. Maybe in the future bioetanol will be more widely available and used.

    And, the last bit of your discussion is about the S Curve. I I Phone adoption was slow then skyrocketed. We are at a tipping point with level 2 charging ports in apartments, with home battery storage, and with affordable, small EVs on a flexible skateboard. A $20,000, Honda Fit EV will take over. The market.

  • @freeheeler09
    @freeheeler09 3 місяці тому

    Nice discussion! Home solar and batteries are the gateway drugs to EVs. And, we need much more affordable EVs. 1.We need more affordable home storage batteries (<$100/kwh). That’ll drive the adoption of solar and EVs. 2. We need a small, reliable, 250 mile range, 4 seater, EV hatchback for less than $20,000. I’m not buying Chinese, not out of racism, but more because Europe and North America are in a new Cold War with China. 3. Musk has alienated most EV buyers. We don’t want to do business with any company associated with Musk. 4. We need level 2 charging everywhere, or my pipe dream, level 2 induction charging everywhere! I like Canoo’s platform and am disappointed that they haven’t been able to produce their pickup and van. Canoo’s skateboard could be the platform for the van, pickup, and even a sedan and a hatchback. The flexible share board will be the path to affordable vehicles.

    Which EV do you drive? The build quality on most of them is terrible, especially Tesla. The cybertruck has had numerous recalls due to flagrant safety issues, including the cover being able to sever fingers and the accelerator pedal not coming back up when you let your foot off. This isn’t even to get into the wild costs of installing proprietary fast chargers in your home, finding charging stations on a frequent basis, etc.

    Great concept and this business should be developed but the 75% claim is way off though. My 2013 Tesla has 92% of its original capacity 11 years later. When my car reaches end of life in 10 years or so please put the battery to use as stationary storage.

    I use EA 99% of the time to charge my Ioniq 6. It’s been a great experience other than the 2 times the station was full. Charges 20-80% in 19 mins even at a 150kw station

    That Toyota, will last for 500+k miles. An EV just needs to have one messed up battery & you're out $10k I'll stick with my gas car. Mostly because I'm not 🧠 💀. A single plane uses more fuel taxing than I will in a lifetime.. you're not saving the environment. Not even a little bit.. grow the hell up.

    Tiresome.... all EV owners explain about tech details on their experience loading and so forth..... I am not an engineer and I don't care about how much, how long, how... how... I don't want to have such problems, this is because I don't have a EV, and watching such amazing tech details I will never have. My tech dificulty is to decide between the type of gasoline, or even BioEthanol (my car is multifuel). After 4 mins of charging enough energy I will get an autonomy of 800km if I drive calmly.

    0:55 - I so much appreciate this video. Thank you for providing. A great how-to for first-time Ioniq 6 buyers. I'm seriously considering one, and this process to find stations puts me at immediate ease. I am most curious about how often Hyundai updates those charging station maps, and if it's instantly OTA. Eg; if new 350kw stations come online, how soon will their maps reflect those new stations.

    This is a pretty bad review. If you're taking a long trip, you should start the EV at 100%. I've done dozens of DC to NYC trips in my Ioniq5 amd only need to stop once in NJ to make it. There is no mention of your range (miles / kWh) in the review so we can compare efficiency to cars like the Tesla M3.

      Im not so sure this an accurate nor universal answer ..... I purchased an electric chevy volt in 2015 new for roughly 35k ..... Received a 10k tax credit bringing total cost to 28k .....Drove it for 8 yrs and put on 150k miles and recently just sold it for 10k ...... So I drove it for 8 yrs putting on 150k in miles for 18k or $2250 per year (or roughly 18 cents per mile) and this doesnt even factor in the gas cost savings which would bring my cost per year/mile MUCH lower over an equivalent gas vehicle. Electric just makes more cents! Lol Just purchased a 2023 F150 Lightning and LOVE driving past gas stations! I could NEVER go back to gas! Doing my part to not help fund terrorism since 2015 by NOT purchasing gas!!!
