Are you sure that’s cast iron?…looks more like cast steel to me
Just add a muffler!
It seems It’s Any kind of Van! My disgust comes caravans!! Anyone driving them CANNOT DRIVE!!!!!!
Heat goes a long way.
Did you do anything inside the cab? My dad jacked up the window handle on ours and I’m looking for help to fix it.
I have taken out the steering column and brake pedal. The window is pretty easy to fix. Pull the door panel off and it’s all right there. You should be able to buy all the parts to fix it.
I have a cast exhaust fan for the world up just wondering did you use regular flex big weld? I only have a small home welder no gas. I wonder if it would work
I used mig gas. I’m not sure what it will do. But I’d try it. I’d grind it out a bit and make sure it’s clean. Use a propane torch to preheat it and go for it!
My friends asked me to have a try with MIG Weld on their broken blades. Due to safety concerns - I hesitated Thanks - for video,- I gonna try now
The blade is still together. I replaced it cause it got dull!
Where you get it from
Amazon
Currently restoring a 1970 GS 350, can't wait to drive it for the first time. I know that dash when I see it!
Hey, is this rear seat or front? Buckets or bench? I may be facing the same issue in my car. New floors front to back
Front seat, buckets. Make sure you don’t do what I did.
@@longsspeed thanks for the reply. Wish I saw your video sooner haha. I'm deep into it now, if there's a will there's there's way I guess!
Had to be broke before you put on, just didnt notice. Been there myself
That a.nice.truck
It’s alright bro just keep going
soft hands brother
Bro, I was screwing in a bolt on an aluminum block with a light impact driver, took the threads straight out of it, and wrapped it around the bolt 😂 S*** happens
You probably left oil in the hole when you put the bolt in. The oil hydro locks from the threads creating pressure and it has to go somewhere
Stay strong brother, The Automotive Gods are testing you
God almighty tests his most worthy. ❤
You should probably know 😂
did the square body front suspension or 96 read end require any custom fitting to get them to fit the frame?
Just need to drill 1 hole on each side of the frame.
@@longsspeed Awesome. Thanks! Great work
What's the cab max height now?
That all depends on your set up. I made my own mounts because the C50 Cab sits farther forward on the frame.
@@longsspeed Understood. I'm estimating to see if any C50 lowered like this will have a chance of cleari g my standard garage door height.
Oh I see. Yes for sure it will. Roof will be about the same as a stock pickup truck
@@longsspeed That's great, thank you!! Keep up the good work.

Great all weather runabout, good luck
I want to convert a c50 into a 4x4 overlander.
I enjoyed your banter and honesty so much. I subscribed without seeing any other videos. Good l7ck to you.
Thank you
American here, I have been binging your videos all morning; I love the build! I thought the frame was a bit long in the back, but then I saw in a previous video that it's a cab and chassis frame. Do you plan on shortening the wheelbase when you replace the rear axle?
Thank you for the support! I’m going to leave it long. I may want to turn it into a car hauler someday. Or if I sell it maybe the next person would want too.
The only way

is it still holding up? about how much stress does this part go under?
Well it holds the gear straight to a fair amount. Yes it’s still working.
@@longsspeed cheers mate, just snapped off a gearbox mount on an engine block and want to tackle it with my mig. great video 🤙
I have my grandmother's 68 Buick skylark. I took it all apart because I was going to finish it. I'm going to just reassemble it now. And drive it and enjoy it.
Oh good it's not just me
It’s a lot of work but they will come out the top past the ridge if you find a way to pull them correctly. I’ve drilled through the cylinder to attach a slide hammer to them, engine was a 442 olds very crusty but it did work.
The tool to use is called a Ridge Reamer.....look it up...
Yes I know. But a ridge this big means the cylinders will need to be bored properly. So no sense in using a ridge reamer on it.
@@longsspeed I agree with you, but I thought you wanted to get the pistons out first, before going to the machine shop...
@@longsspeedthat's what they're gonna do at the machine shop
Forgive me for potentially being ignorant of an obvious issue with this suggestion, but if the issue is getting the pistons out from the top, couldn't you just remove the crankshaft and then pull the pistons out from the bottom? Of course, that is on the assumption you don't have a ridge on the bottom as well.
Yes you can but usually it’s easier to push them out the top than out the bottom.
You said speed limit or less… the thing is YOU CAN ONLY LEGALLY DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT MAX IN ALL LANES. The passing lane is to pass those driving under the speed limit, stop speeding it’s illegal.
If you drive below the speed limit in the passing lane over here I hope you have good insurance cause you are gonna need it cause while you’re driving 65 everyone else is driving 80 plus then you have the super speeders who think they are nascar drivers in training. I mean you can drive the speed limit but unless you have a death wish i highly advise not driving below the speed limit in the passing lane.
Then maybe you should get over in the left lane if your so concerned about the speed limit.
Using the left lane while not passing a vehicle is illegal too.
How long before the bumper rusts again? Once you remove the rust the area needs to be covered with something to stop the rust from returning
A year later the rust has not come back.
Name of the Brake line?
Just called Copper-Nickel Brake line. You should be able to order it on Amazon. That’s where I order it.
@kentowakai1234 i guess so, fast cooling makes a material harder but brittle, the opposite applies with a slow cooling
Had 427 ford in 19 ft resorter dual quards
I've got the big, lumbering 305 V6 in my '69 GMC. Since I've got it I've been thinking about all the things that you're experiencing with brakes and those rims and the axles and the whole thing I'm pretty convinced the best thing to do would be to replace all of it but I really don't want to it's got 86,000 original miles. I think I've got the same wheelbase as your rig. Seems like when I see them, they usually have that longer wheelbase on grain trucks and things
Hi have a question? in the transmission swap did you need to modify anything else besides the shifter?
If you are going to do this, The driveshaft needs to be shortened and most likely have to move the transmission cross member. If you have a GM A Body your frame should have holes that line up. You will also need a bracket to hold the TV cable at the carburetor.
As old as those brake shoes are. They probably have asbestos in them. Be aware of the brake dust.
I wonder if tig would work well, one would think so ?
Would be would a try for sure.
Cool car bro, checking out the channel as I watch you drive behind us!!!!
Thank you
Nice arriva, I just picked up a 91 arriva but with an outboard, looking foward to bust out another thousand 🤣
