Bro, I was screwing in a bolt on an aluminum block with a light impact driver, took the threads straight out of it, and wrapped it around the bolt 😂 S*** happens

You probably left oil in the hole when you put the bolt in. The oil hydro locks from the threads creating pressure and it has to go somewhere

It’s a lot of work but they will come out the top past the ridge if you find a way to pull them correctly. I’ve drilled through the cylinder to attach a slide hammer to them,engine was a 442 olds very crusty but it did work.

The tool to use is called a Ridge Reamer.....look it up...

Forgive me for potentially being ignorant of an obvious issue with this suggestion, but if the issue is getting the pistons out from the top, couldn't you just remove the crankshaft and then pull the pistons out from the bottom? Of course, that is on the assumption you don't have a ridge on the bottom as well.

Since I've got it I've been thinking about all the things that you're experiencing with brakes and those rims and the axles and the whole thing I'm pretty convinced the best thing to do would be to replace all of it but I really don't want to it's got 86,000 original miles. I think I've got the same wheelbase as your rig. Seems like when I see them, they usually have that longer wheelbase on grain trucks and things

As old as those brake shoes are. They probably have asbestos in them. Be aware of the brake dust.
