or u could get a $5 plastic step from wmart and ziptie it to the rear legs of the table so it doesnt move, and attach a little treat tub to the front bars so the sheep knows theres treats in there, u wont have to lug him onto the table at all, he will just step right up by himself for his tub treats!

Sorry folks. You can all burble on and on about how clever she is to use the stand for shearing... I have no issue with that. BUT Does anyone out there know what "Noils" are? Noils are second cuts. That's when you make a cut, and the clippers or shears are not parallel to the animal's skin. Then you come back for the next cut, and you cut a section of long stuff...but you also cut a wide swath of wool that's less than an inch long. You're basically throwing away 6months worth of wool, because no mill will pay top dollar for that kind of cut. And handspinners won't be happy either...why pay for a bag of wool that you can only spin half of it? Sheep are raised for two reasons, wool and meat (OK include cute, wool, and meat. If you're not even trying for saleable wool, that leaves meat. You might as well switch to Suffolks. They'd be a LOT cheaper!

It's really good that you showed this way of doing it. I wanted to use our goat milking stand to do the sheep and now I know for sure it's the right thing to do for my back and the comfort of the sheep. It's also good to show how 'kicky' they can be as someone might think they are hurting them but (from my experience) it's just a natural reaction they do even when trimming feet etc

Amazing. Have had to remove goat horns in the past, but we’ve had so many problems due to their being hollow into the head. So complicated sometimes, but the animals are so miserable when the horns decide to grow in a weird direction.
