Such an interesting notion about ambiguity. The whole movie is centered on the audience's freedom to interpret what it all means. Yet Nolan still insists on having an intended meaning. But that doesn't mean it's the true meaning. He also has his interpretation of Inception, but that doesn't mean the opposite reading is invalid. His movies aren't puzzles with a right answer and a wrong answer, despite so many fans wanting them to be. The answer is meant to be uncertain. If he wanted to be clear, he'd have made it clear. He leaves room for the audience to decide for ourselves. I think that's part of why his work is so beloved.
