This is my first ride and review if the brand new CBR650R with E-Clutch. This bike is like a semi automatic where the bike takes control of the clutch operation, all you need to do is change gear. www.fowlers.co.uk

Filtering through traffic
Переглядів 21Рік тому
What are people’s thoughts of filtering through traffic? Is it a good idea or not?
With E clutch must close the throttle to change a gear ?
The black scheme is amazing. It came to the US this year. I’m getting one. I can’t help myself. I’m glad Suzuki went for torque, but I’d need more HP. I’d be coming down nearly 40 HP from my current bike.
Between this and the gsx 8r..gonna be tough!
Are you changing gears with your feet, or does the bike do it automatically like DCT?
you change gears with left toe, exactly like normal tranny. Only difference is rider use of hand clutch lever is optional.
Gears with feet
I subscribed just because of your bristol accent 😄
It will not be called " motor cycle anymore". It's called scooter
Mega scooter lmao
a scooter i would love to ride
Nice bike I think the USA should have these bikes by now.
I’m torn between this and a Ninja 1000SX. My dad and I go to Europe fairly regularly and the Ninja easily wins out in that regard with hard luggage included and a beastly engine. But the Honda is fucking gorgeous man and I really miss the 600cc inline four bikes, they’ve all but died out aside from this CBR. So my dilemma is do I buy a bike that I think I’ll enjoy more for fun at the weekends, or a bike that’ll perform better for the one trip I might do to Germany etc in a year? Unsure about the e-clutch, cool bit of tech but I might wait for a further and slightly less bulky apparatus in the side of the bike.
This is not like a 600rr, this is not a racing replica made for the track, it has power but is heavier and made for street riding, way less power than a 600rr
@@bboykiddblack Yeah I test rode one and wasn’t that impressed tbh. The power was ok, but it was bizarrely “heavy” and really needed some persuasion to tip over into corners. It felt like the bike was fighting you I don’t think I can describe it correctly. I bought the 1000SX anyway, taking delivery this week can’t wait.
@@timmy3822 it can also be tuned to stay below 47 horsepower tonmeet A2 license restrictions, you may have gotten one of those, onto better things anyway, enjoy your new bike!
wondering how it behaves if you pull the clutch , does it change to manual ? (Or maybe missed in a video)
If you pull the clutch in while the e-clutch is activated then it over rides it and becomes a normal clutch . When you release the clutch then the e-clutch reactivates and it’s back to before. So yes you can still use the clutch while riding .
I love mine.
is it really good and comfy.. i really want to buy one.. or Turismo Veloce :)
@orhan14oglu It is very comfortable. I own the RS 660 which is abit more sporty riding style but the Tuono is more upright so less bent over
@@BikerKev thanks, i think i ll go for Tuono soon..
Excellent video ❤
Bout to get my 1st bike 🏍️ this definitely it !!!!! E cutch
Don’t think you will be disappointed with the bike it’s an amazing bike to ride especially with the E-Clutch
@@BikerKev Yes 🙌🏾 look like alot of fun
Some nice machinery there, I'm a sucker for the Honda in Repsol livery :)
Greetings from New Zealand, looks like a great turn out, awesome!!🇳🇿
That thump of the exhaust when you stopped near the signal !! damn ... this is gonna be the sexiest motorbike .
Such a shame about the music on while you voice over and not sound of bike
Unfortunately I didn’t have any sound my mic stopped working while riding that’s why I had to do a voice over
I’m currently waiting in america to get one.
Me too, I want the naked version.
Thank you for the rev Which bike do you prefer between the Honda CBR650R 2024 and the Yamaha please?
They both have different characteristics the Honda is more upright and comfortable whereas the Yamaha is more focused like a racer . Personally I prefer the Yamaha it’s more fun to ride and can take to the track and have some fun. But both bikes are good in different ways so a lot of it comes to personal choice
I have the R7 but wanted the Honda. I feel Honda has better build quality, more horse power, and its an inline four cylinder. I love the inline four sound, and it has a little more top end. The R7 does look great, and has great usable power. The ergos on the R7 are more aggressive so it depends on what you want out of the bike.
im waiting for this bike in the philippines. this is surely a good daily bike for me. i can feel how exciting it is now.
owned one, having tons of fun!
Why did Honda even make this bike? Tech-less naked? Sure. This bike needs to be ditched and Honda release a CBR750R model to compete with the R7. This E clutch is going keep more new riders in the Pussy/Wanker status. All this new tech crap is pure BS. Handicapped transmissions belong on Goldwings, to give the older guys a chance to relax a bit, after living their life as "real motorcycle" riders. They earned it.
@@Jimmy_Boy_Kalahati lmao dude I’m sure you’re a cool tough boy. Keep portraying that image until you believe it yourself. Because surely no one around you does.
Never expected that there are still adults who thinks automatic transmission is for pu**. Grow up and stop being a manchild my guy.
I have a 2023 cbr650r - it’s already faster and more comfortable than an R7🤦♂️.
@someoneelse1i1i have you had it modified ?
@@BikerKev No, but the cbr650r is simply faster than the R7. Most videos put it at or near 150 mph and I would bet money mine will hit that. The fastest I’ve been is about 115 but it wasn’t even at 9,000 rpm’s and it doesn’t start to redline until past 12,000. I’ve got a friend in my neighborhood with an R7 (and a Grom😜) and it’s a great bike but it won’t do anywhere near that. I love my cbr though.
That e-clutch system looks really good. Strange feeling not to use the clutch epically at low speeds.
I do nod at other bikers and those on L plates. Whilst I was riding with L plates on my 125, it felt good to be recognised by riders with a full licence. It felt encouraging.
Nice looking bike. On my GSX-8S I found if you pre-load the quick shifter for a second before changing its so much smoother. Also the quick shifter seems to get smoother the more you use it.
Thanks for the comment that’s good to know about the quick shifter
Just wanna say I absolutely love the intro Kev, nothing screams testosterone more. Currently on a cbr125r and looking to get this bike in september when I pass my A2. Love the video, very in depth and looking forward to more!
Thanks for your comment I do try to make my videos to capture the attention of people . You won’t be disappointed with the CBR650R
look at the state of those roads! dangerous
Pretty standard for most of the UK these days sadly. It’s like driving in a third world country. Going to France is like heaven by comparison in the areas where I’ve ridden. Lovely road surfaces and barely any speed cameras too, better standard of driving also.
❤❤❤❤❤😂สวยคับผมน่าใช้คับ..❤️❤️💖💐🤟😍🥰
I think it sticks out way too much and looks bad. If they can make it more integrated in the next version (instead of some glued-on apparatus) - then maybe...
It's not that big as it looks.. I got my 2024 cbr friday and its not really big...In Videos it looks a lot bigger
Great review from real motobike life - I like the cbr 650 too!
Much better with the black version.....
The problem with my 187cm tall body and legs. That E-Clutch is in the way of my leg. I could not sit on this bike at all without my leg touching it all the time. Will stick to my -22 650R since I can not sit on that bike on a ride. Bad ergonimics.
Unfortunately not all bikes fit everyone they can’t design a bike that fits all . You just have to find a bike that suits you
Exactly !! I think it looks ugly and sticks out too much. No thanks.
It doesn’t stick out that much i personally didn’t find it to be an issue
i just rode an cb650r 24 today my first time whit e clutch , and let me tell you somthing ... this is gonna be a revolution
LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!
a revolution of technical problems that will requires a revolution ton of money to fix on a regular basis
@@user-jw4nz8km2x - Ok, you’re allowed

best looking bike on a market to me
It certainly does have a good look
Fuck me, that engine sound is something else, man. Play this when I die.
The inline 4 does have an awesome sound
😂 👍🏼
😂😂😅👏👏
Ah the Honda accidental press of the horn! I need to have a go on one of these looks interesting
Yeah it’s close to the indicator button
@BikerKev if you check out my ride on the AT you will see I did exactly the same. I used to have a CRF250 as well and after being on my Yamaha for a while I would always accidentally hit the horn on the Honda!!!
is it true that it's slow? based on the review on MCN, the zx4rr is much faster. They said that the e-clutch affects the acceleration
It’s certainly not slow with 94bhp but does take a while to get there as you need to rev it high to get into the power band. The ZX4 RR is a lighter machine so has less weight to pull. Regarding the E-Clutch making acceleration slower it may do but very marginal you would hardly notice it compared to the standard manual version. I’ve not ridden the ZX4RR but will try to get my hands on one and will do a small comparison.
Would you get this or a DCT version if it was available on a cbr? And if not a DCT why not?
The DCT is basically like a fully automatic so the bikes changes gear for you where as the E-Clutch only operates the clutch so you still have the manual gear change. I’ve not currently ridden a DCT so can’t really comment too much on that system. Which one I would rather have is hard to say as I’ve not had experience of both systems. Which system would you prefer ?
@@BikerKevDCT is not an automatic, it's the same conventional gearbox but has 2 clutches and electric motors which operates shifting via ECU. Almost same here - electric motors operates upshift and downshift, the only thing is you should still shift it so to me there's no point of semi-automatic like this. I've had VFR1200FD (DCT version) and still love it to death! Sadly it was discontinued due to Euro regulations.
Thanks for the comment I only said DCT is like an automatic where it changes gear for you as the E-Clutch doesn’t
weird feeling but interesting piece of technology
It certainly is a very weird feeling but you certainly get used to it
the accidental little honk tho haha, nice bike and ur underrated!
Thought I would leave that in there and give people a little laugh. Thanks for the comment
some people on the internet say you shouldn't buy the MT03 because off its price and performance and should go directly to MT07 , what do you think?
The MT07 is approximately £2000 more expensive than the MT03. But if money is not an issue and you feel comfortable riding a more powerful bike then the MT07 is a great bike. It has the same cp2 engine as my R7 that I currently have. So my verdict would be it depends on your budget and confidence if your coming from a 125 onto your first big bike. If you can afford it and have the confidence then I would recommend the MT07
dont bother wth mt03. I started on one, then mt07, now an mt09. Just go straight for the mt07. Better power, doesnt feel grossly small like the 03 does, and can have it for more than a few years compared to the 03 which youll flip within the year because you want something bigger.
Thanks for the review, I’ve been looking at buying this. How would you compare this to the rs 660? I can’t decide between the two?
Both are really good bikes I would say it depends on your requirements. The Tuono is a more upright position like a naked bike and the RS 660 is a sports bike ergonomics and more lent over. I will be doing a comparison video of the 2 bikes soon
Good review. I owned an RS 660 when they were first released. Loved the bike, but it was just slightly too much of a sport bike position for my liking these days. Sold it and bought a Tuono 660 factory the following year. Great Improvement. All the tech of the RS plus a more comfortable riding position. Installed a full exhaust, Gambro UpMap and air filter. I’ve owned a dozen mostly middleweight bikes over the years and this is definitely the best one. She’s a keeper.
Thanks for the review. Would you trade a 2023 Ninja 650 for this bike?
Yes I would trade the Ninja 650 for this bike. It has the same upright riding style but more power and more electronics . I don’t think you would be disappointed with the trade. Let me know if you do and what you think
Aye nice video man! I'm gonna sub and see you in 5 years when you're famous :)
