Vedal did put a lot of work into preperation for the subathon as well as work during it, and a lot of the time Neuro (or Evil Neuro) are not alone, but are interacting with other people. The special Valorant promotion Anny talked about was that, if you gifted 5 subs or more to people, Valorant would gift a random amount of additional subs. (That is separate from the subathon itself, but good timing for Vedal's sake.) At night, they will put Neuro (or Neuro and Evil) to bed so to speak and leave the stream going overnight with a VOD playing. Neuro/Evil can "fall asleep" when nothing is going on, aka, when they're not receiving any input. Trying to get them to do that on queue at times can be a bit tricky. At one point during the hype train, when he had over 40k viewers, Vedal's channel was the #1 active channel by viewers. A hype train happens when the amount of subs, gift subs, and/or bits in a channel go over a certain threshold. It seems that at the start they had trouble getting a hype train to start because it was on cooldown since the last one. The previous hype train world record, set by PirateSoftware, was 48% of level 106, while Vedal/Neuro got 55% of level 111. The sub count on the timer would be for the entire subathon, which Vedal was afraid was going to end that day on January 1st. I wasn't there for the beginning of the hype train, but I was there at the end. I believe Anny was a major factor in it's success, she was basically the cheerleader for the hype train. The 100k goal, which Vedal didn't really expect to hit, would be another factor. And Vedal went from seemingly having a worse subathon then last year, to having a much better and much longer one then he could have imagined. (He was using an RNG wheel system, starting with week 2, to determine how many seconds should be added/subtracted from the base number for each sub, and had a string of bad luck with negative numbers. This time I think he got +4, which was actually good. (The base number, I think, being 7 seconds.) +10 seconds was also possible to get I think, but I don't know that he ever actually got that. Getting a level 100 hype train rewards a unique global emote for everyone who participated, and a new global emote was made when PirateSoftware set the level 106 record, which I think became usable to all the people who participated in Vedal's hype train. There was hope that Twitch might make a new emote for Vedal/Neuro as a result of breaking the world record, but nobody knows if it'll happen or not. With each level, it takes more and more effort (aka money) to reach the next level. Vedal's world record hype train had a lot more subs/gift subs as part of it then the previous record, which had a lot more bits. The Abandoned Archives goal no doubt affected this. The end result of a hype train in general, is more money for the streamer. Especially a world record hype train like this one. People also get access to special emotes via hype trains. Due to price differences in different areas, it may be hard to tell how much money it would cost to do a high level hype train, but one person has apparently theorized that it would take about $500,000 USD to do a level 100 hype train. (Granted, the streamer wouldn't get all that money, Twitch takes their cut, and then there could be income tax and stuff. It's still a lot of money though.) And to put things into perspective a bit, PirateSoftware, who made the previous record, has about 1.2 million followers, so could potentially have a community twice as big as Vedal's, and yet the Swarm beat PirateSoftware's record. (Vedal and PirateSoftware meanwhile are on friendly terms with each other, and have done Twitch raids of each other before.) But PirateSoftware will be trying to beat Vedal's record now. (And I expect they'll be able to do it.)

To put some context Valorant was Donating subs as well. I think they donated nearly 30K i'm not shure on the exact number. But it was enough to braek the hype train record. Secods after the Valorat speical conclued the former recored holders tweeted that they will take the record back on April 1st. Just as a side note to all this Vedal had to fight off Neuro and her momma from being subjected to a turtel maid outfit.

(They have more subs than any other much bigger content creator like Ibai, xQc, Caseoh, etc.) They are #12 most-followed VTuber on Twitch and #21 most-followed VTubers on Bilibili (All languages, not only English speaking Vtubers) So yeah I think Vedal and Neuro are among the biggest Vtubers

During last year's subathon, ten thousand were gifted during that last hour, so he'll probably end up seventh most subscribed overall by the end of the subathon
