A POEM BY TU FU 8th century China Amid spring mountains, my absence friend, alone searching for you. Ax strokes, crack crack and quit. Quiet mystery deepens. Following a stream up into last snow and ice, and beyond, dusk light aslant, to Stone Gate forests. Deer roam all morning here, for you harm nothing, want nothing. Wanting nothing you know chi gold and silver all night. Bursting forth in s...

ON THE GREAT road of buddha ancestors there is always unsurpassable practice, continuous and sustained. It forms the circle of the way and is never cut off. Between aspiration, practice, enlightenment, and nirvana, there is not a moment’s gap; continuous practice is the circle of the way. This being so, continuous practice is undivided, not forced by you or others. The power of this continuous ...

Just picked up Inside Vasubandhu’s Yogacara at the Hong Kong Library. A great companion text to the discourses of Mattreya. Thank you venerable sir for your hard work.
Fantastic talk. Thank you Ben!
Thank you. My heart is deeply touched listening to this Dharma talk. Much gratitude.
Very grateful to Ben for making Yogacara and the Bodhisattva way accessible. More than any other teaching, when I study Yogacara it seems the teaching exactly describes my experience.
By chance do you have this full tape?
This is a really great lesson. I appreciate you sharing it.

What a great group!
If there's anyone there live monitoring the comments...if there's a way to adjust the lighting so I can see his face. If not no problem I can hear him just fine.

Good grief. The divisiveness and attachment to opinions inherent in politics are completely antithetical to Buddhist practice. These attachments ensnare Zen practitioners in dualities like right vs. wrong, success vs. failure, and us vs. them. You've entirely missed the essence of Buddhism. Let's stay in our lane.

@38:20 that lady who said we die and disperse to other things. . I agree with her.. Well I have the similar belief .. But only time will tell.. 😅
Disease is when we find our ease.. I see it as. What brings you ease.. the opposite is disease.. so if you have a disease.. what is the ease that is hiding behind the disease? I hope I make sence lol
i live in texas and drive for work every day. i’ve been saying the clouds and sky look so beautiful out of nowhere. it feels like a representation of the energy around me lol
I as well live in texas. I do think the clouds are nice too and I try to take time to appreciate dusk dawn and twilight. It's funny that I was just thinking about how this cloud looked so beautiful a couple hours ago
Questioner: How does a 3rd-density planet become 4th-density? _Ra: I am Ra. This will be the last full question._ _The fourth density is, as we have said, as regularized in its approach as the striking of a clock upon the hour. The space/time of your solar system has enabled this planetary sphere to spiral into space/time of a different vibrational configuration. This causes the planetary sphere to be able to be molded by these new distortions. However, the thought-forms of your people during this transition period are such that the mind/body/spirit complexes of both individual and societies are scattered throughout the spectrum instead of becoming able to grasp the needle, shall we say, and point the compass in one direction._ _Thus, the entry into the vibration of love, sometimes called by your people the vibration of understanding, is not effective with the present societal complex. Thus, the harvest shall be such that many will repeat the third-density cycle. The energies of your Wanderers, your teachers, and your adepts at this time are all bent upon increasing the harvest. However, there are few to harvest._ Questioner: Would there be any value to the people of this planet now, at this time, to complete this machine? _Ra: I am Ra. The harvest is now. There is not at this time any reason to include efforts along these distortions towards longevity, but rather to encourage distortions toward seeking the heart of self, for this which resides clearly in the violet-ray energy field will determine the harvesting of each mind/body/spirit complex._ _Ra: I am Ra. The fourth density is a vibrational spectrum. Your time/space continuum has spiraled your planetary sphere and your, what we would call galaxy, what you call star, into this vibration. This will cause the planetary sphere itself to electromagnetically realign its vortices of reception of the instreaming of cosmic forces expressing themselves as vibrational webs so that the Earth will thus be fourth-density magnetized, as you might call it._ _This is going to occur with some inconvenience, as we have said before, due to the energies of the thought-forms of your peoples which disturb the orderly constructs of energy patterns within your Earth spirals of energy which increases entropy and unusable heat. This will cause your planetary sphere to have some ruptures in its outer garment while making itself appropriately magnetized for fourth density. This is the planetary adjustment._ _You will find a sharp increase in the number of people, as you call mind/body/spirit complexes, whose vibrational potentials include the potential for fourth-vibrational distortions. Thus, there will seem to be, shall we say, a new breed. These are those incarnating for fourth-density work._ _There will also be a sharp increase in the short run of negatively oriented or polarized mind/body/spirit complexes and social complexes, due to the polarizing conditions of the sharp delineation between fourth-density characteristics and third-density self-service orientation._ _Those who remain in fourth density upon this plane will be of the so-called positive orientation. Many will come from elsewhere, for it would appear that with all of the best efforts of the Confederation, which includes those from your peoples’ inner planes, inner civilizations, and those from other dimensions, the harvest will still be much less than that which this planetary sphere is capable of comfortably supporting in service._ Questioner: Thank you. Is it possible for you to give a small description of the conditions [in] fourth density? _Ra: I am Ra. We ask you to consider as we speak that there are no words for positively describing fourth density. We can only explain what is not and approximate what is. Beyond fourth density our ability grows more limited still until we become without words._ _That which fourth density is not: it is not of words, unless chosen. It is not of heavy chemical vehicles for body complex activities. It is not of disharmony within self. It is not of disharmony within peoples. It is not within limits of possibility to cause disharmony in any way._ _Approximations of positive statements: it is a plane of a type of bipedal vehicle which is much denser and more full of life; it is a plane wherein one is aware of the thoughts of other-selves; it is a plane where one is aware of the vibrations of other-selves; it is a plane of compassion and understanding of the sorrows of third density; it is a plane striving towards wisdom or light; it is a plane wherein individual differences are pronounced although automatically harmonized by group consensus._ Questioner: How long is a cycle of experience in fourth density in our years? _Ra: The cycle of experience is approximately 30 million of your years if the entities are not capable of being harvested sooner. There is in this density a harvest which is completely the function of the readiness of the social memory complex. It is not structured as is your own, for it deals with a more transparent distortion of the One Infinite Creator._ Questioner: What is the… can you even state the average lifespan in the fourth density of space/time incarnation? _Ra: I am Ra. The space/time incarnation typical of harmonious fourth density is approximately 90,000 of your years as you measure time._ Ra Material (1981) ~*~ What is the Real World? [4th density] The real world is a symbol, like the rest of what perception offers. Yet it stands for what is opposite to what you made. Your world is seen through eyes of fear, and brings the witnesses of terror to your mind. The real world cannot be perceived except through eyes forgiveness blesses, so they see a world where terror is impossible, and witnesses to fear can not be found. The real world holds a counterpart for each unhappy thought reflected in your world; a sure correction for the sights of fear and sounds of battle which your world contains. The real world shows a world seen differently, through quiet eyes and with a mind at peace. Nothing but rest is there. There are no cries of pain and sorrow heard, for nothing there remains outside forgiveness. And the sights are gentle. Only happy sights and sounds can reach the mind that has forgiven itself. What need has such a mind for thoughts of death, attack and murder? What can it perceive surrounding it but safety, love and joy? What is there it would choose to be condemned, and what is there that it would judge against? The world it sees arises from a mind at peace within itself. No danger lurks in anything it sees, for it is kind, and only kindness does it look upon. The real world is the symbol that the dream of sin and guilt is over, and God's Son no longer sleeps. His waking eyes perceive the sure reflection of his Father's Love; the certain promise that he is redeemed. The real world signifies the end of time, for its perception makes time purposeless. The Holy Spirit has no need of time when it has served His purpose. Now He waits but that one instant more for God to take His final step, and time has disappeared, taking perception with it as it goes, and leaving but the truth to be itself. That instant is our goal, for it contains the memory of God. And as we look upon a world forgiven, it is He Who calls to us and comes to take us home, reminding us of our Identity which our forgiveness has restored to us. A Course In Miracles (1975) Author: _Jesus Christ_

Very grateful for all I learned from the teachers at zen center.
There is no sound for this one.
Sad to see how American Zen has become the breeding ground for woke social justice. Dogen never would have spoken this way because he would see this as divisive and a separatist mindset.
I can't figure out why I can not hear the audio, although I see the video. I have tried two other of your videos and can hear them.
Thank you for this lovely dharma talk and experience 🙏❤️😊. Gassho.
The working of the mind shapes up personal beliefs. The essence of Jesus is a resolve which causes us to believe in the impossible and focus on entitlement to the effects of God.
Speaking of Katagiri, besides having sex with a number of his female students he also attempted to rape a woman closely connected to Mpls. Zen Center, though not a member. She managed to fight him off. I believe attempted rape is a felony. But you don't want to know about things like this. You know. The truth about him. It happened in 1979.
Wonderful talk!
Good presentation Randy... Thank you!
You are mistaking method for result. The contradicn is on the surface only. Emptiness is emptiness. Fully enlightened beings have full realization of emptiness. That is enlightenment defined. And emptiness is non-duality. Buddhists and Taoists, when fully enlightened, have no disagreement. Listen to the sages, not the scholars. Scholars guess. Sages know.
Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu
I need to make a clarification to my talk. The discussion of several vocabulary words (“superposition” and ”wave functions”), which is introduced in the section on wave-particle duality (at 18:50 in talk), would be better introduced in the section on quantum entanglement (at 22:00). Wave-particle duality is not a good example of superposition; quantum entanglement is a good example.
Keep going Jey...
The last thing I wanna see as studying Zen is a room full of white people
What a powerful transmission. Will the rest of this talk be made available?
best therapist I found was the wall. I find western therapy to be problematic. yes, it is effective for some, but the way they view the mind and some of their therapies creates a lot of iatrogenesis. Trauma is just a buzz word today, unfortunately...
Thanks for a great tutorial. I especially love your emphasis on sincerity over perfection and your reflections on tying the knot!
What's the deal with you speaking into a cup?
I was reading Carlos Rovelli's "The Order of Time." he's a cool theoretical physicist who writes really succinct, easy to digest books about complex physics topics. The way he describes time (which, outside of the linear construction can be associated with entropy) has so many parallels with Uji. He says something along the lines of... every moment-happeniing-action has its own past and future that intermingle with all other phenomenon; and that past and future are somewhat indistinguishable. Really cool stuff. I always come back to Uji. Thanks for the talk!
This was awesome, thank you

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying them!
The 'yes' doesn't end the suffering. If that was the solution everyone would just say yes and that would be it. Its just there. Life will screw you, on top of that, some people will mess with you, use you, abuse you and then one day you start dying really slowly and painfully because statistically two thirds of people go that way. While one third goes fast. Once, years ago when i was a stoner, I was eating an ice cream in front of Albertsons and and an older lady tried to strike up a conversation with me, myself being stoned, I just wanted to enjoy my ice cream and i couldn't be bothered talking to some unattractive old hag. So i ignored her. Suddenly her attitude changed and she said with this stern voice, you're not gonna win! She was right. You might win a local pool tournament or a highschool 100 meter dash or something and that's it. But it's worth it. What else is there to do? Write a poem, learn a few chords on your guitar. Clean your room? Get some groceries? Try to get someone's attention by being really annoying because of some complex personality disorder? Make waves, make a wretched mess out of my life and lives of everyone else around me. That's what people do. Just say yes. I guess.
One time I talked to Bussho and said I was doing self-compassion and mindfulness and meditation and I was still suffering. He said "that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong, it means you're alive." Buddhism acknowledges life will be filled with suffering. It helps us learn not to react to the suffering in ways that create more suffering.
@@MN_Zen_Center There is some Zen saying somewhere where they say and Im paraphrasing, in zen its like when you have a toothache you go see a dentist and you take care of the problem. Sometimes it seems suicide is the shortest way of ending suffering altogether. But for some reason people encourage you to keep going and condemn such actions. Because honestly, I do admit that life takes a kind of mastery. That its something to be mastered so one is to live it skillfully but if you're bumbling around foolishly your entire life and dragging this body around like a tired old mule, whipping it, go further, a little more, a little more, a mule owned by a fool, then you think well maybe its better to just end it altogether. Im not saying i will do that but it just seems like that fate or karma or the astrological chart it just all seems to make sense. Its as if i have no control over things at all.
There is some parallel between the spooky action at a distance and the arising within the present moment being all there is, since there is actually a present moment that isn’t bound by spacetime, and if all particles in the universe were entangled after the Big Bang there is a connection across the entire universe that isn’t bound by the speed of light or actions and reactions occurring across spacetime
Bell rings and the wave form collapses

Well put. No argument here.
