I was at a talk a few years ago at the Amelia Concours, with noteworthy racing drivers of early Japanese sports cars, and whenever RX-7 reliability comes up, I always remember RX-7 racer and IMSA GTU Champion Tommy Kendall mentioning one of the biggest things he was impressed by with the RX-7 was its reliability. Everyone in the room seemed to let out a gasp, but he said no no, it really was very reliable in competition. Fewer moving parts, fewer things to break. Not a direct quote, but that's the gist of it and it's stuck in my mind since then. I've never owned one but always loved the look and the sound.

Dude the memories that dug up my biggest fear when I owned an rx8. If I stall it was either an hour wait or beat the shit out of the starter to get it working again. So from one rotary guy to another. I feel your pain
