Chicken Stir Fry for 4 in Under 15 Minutes and Under $15
I’m mad! The price of food these days has gotten out of hand. Not everyone can afford the ridiculous cost to feed our families anymore, without some careful planning. And just because we have to watch our pennies and our dollars doesn’t mean we have hours on end to slave away in the kitchen. So today, I decided to attempt to make a nutritious dinner for a family of 4, using some convenience foods (for speed) but still mostly home cooked (to keep the cost down), and doing it under $15. Well, we succeeded. Using a pound of chicken, broccoli, onion and a yellow bell pepper, plus some packaged microwaveable rice, we did it all for $14.72, and in just under 13 minutes. I hope this helps give you and idea of something that can be cooked in record time, but at a reasonable cost.
(Note that to feed a family of four, both bags of rice would be used, and are included in the cost I have presented. That said, because our kids are grown and on their own, there are only two of us. So, this makes two meals for us, and as such, I only heated one of the bags of rice, and we’ll use the second bag for our second meal).

Can I Make a Copycat of the New “Big Arch” Burger on the GridIron 36? @campchef

The Big Arch Burger from McDonalds has been teased for months, and it has finally been released in Canada, Germany and Portugal. I saw the photos and I had to try it, so I read everything I could find, and have done my best to replicate it here. Once it is finally released in the USA, I’ll go try it and we’ll see how close I came. #McDonald’s #gridiron36 #backyardcooking #cooking #deliciousfood...

Football Season is right around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about game day food! It is also time to consider some economical but delicious alternatives to some of our traditional game day foods. Hey thanks for watching. What would be your preference of oil? I typically use peanut oil if there are potatoes in the cook, or olive oil if it is a veggie cook. Just curious about your preference, and why. My understanding is that avocado, olive, and peanut are about the best in terms of healthiness. I rarely (if ever) use canola, never use corn oil or vegetable oil. The “drizzle and sizzle” by country crock is just something I decided to try. Butter is definitely better.

Oh yes. On purpose. For breakfast sandwiches I cook them to about the same doneness as, for example, an egg McMuffin from McDonald’s, maybe just a tad softer. But you could of course cook them to your preferred doneness. That’s the beauty of cooking at home! Do it just the way you like it. Hey thanks for watching!
