    I think (according to things I have heard, though unfortunately have not been able to verify yet) Saruman was corrupt and desired power even before he got top middle earth. He was envious of Gandalf, was NOT the first choice for the leader of the white council, and I think he may have even killed the blue wizard to hide his evil ambitions.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Saruman’s desire for power and his complex motivations are indeed fascinating topics. It's true that Saruman's envy and ambition are central to his character arc. The idea that he might have been envious of Gandalf and was not initially the first choice for the White Council is supported by Tolkien’s writings. However, the theory about him killing the Blue Wizard is more speculative, as Tolkien's works don't provide concrete details on their fates. It’s always intriguing to explore these theories and how they align with the broader lore. What sources have you come across regarding these ideas?

      @@MythWorldStory I don't have anything concrete, but I do think it's interesting that Of the 3 wizards, he's the only one coming back from there nor gives any explanation why they didn't come back. At this point it's all theories since we no longer have the source with us. But, knowing how saruman turns out (imprisoning and backstabbing his other istar, cutting down the fangorn forest when he used to walk with treebeard and was a friend, and basically killing the very people he was sent to protect), I could easily see him going down that road, especially if they were a threat to his ambitions.

    Why didn't Saruman lie to Gandalf and have him bring him the ring willingly?

    • @MythWorldStory
      @MythWorldStory 2 дні тому

      Good question! Saruman likely saw Gandalf as too strong and wise to deceive easily. His arrogance and growing paranoia made him prefer more direct methods. Plus, he might have underestimated the risks of trying to manipulate Gandalf.

    Sir, I believe you did an excellent job of describing Saruman's fall. As they say, "Pride goes before the fall" and there is no greater pride than that of a person who believes they are above others. Oh, and thank you for showing the artists names for all the artwork you used, that is an awesome tribute.

    WOW!!! It's absolutely mind blowing that all of it came from the imagination of one person.

      Right?! Tolkien's imagination was incredible! The depth he gave to characters like Morgoth and the entire world of Middle-earth is truly mind-blowing. It's amazing how much detail he created from languages to history. Glad you enjoyed the video!

      It really is. Tolkien's stories are full of deep tragedy and complexity, and the tale of Túrin and Niënor is one of the most heart-wrenching. Thanks for watching!

    They could have been completely crucial to the outcome of the events. Alternatively they could have potentially taken an extended holiday. The latter sounds more fun

      Indeed! The Blue Wizards' mysterious absence leaves so much room for speculation. Maybe they were off on some grand adventure, or perhaps they took that well-deserved holiday. The unknown is what makes them so fascinating!

      My video is based on Tolkien, where Gandalf arrives in Middle-earth during the Third Age. The Rings of Power series took some creative liberties with Tolkien's lore.

      „That Olórin (Gandalf), as was possible for one of the Maiar, had already visited Middle-earth and had become acquainted not only with the Sindarin Elves and others deeper in Middle-earth, but also with Men, is likely, but nothing is (has yet been) said of this.“ (J.R.R. Tolkien, The Peoples of Middle-earth - Part 2, Chapter XIII, "Last Writings, p.381")

      The dwarves called him Gandalf or Tharkun, and for elves he's Mithrander. Those names are giving him by people when he arrived MiddleEarth.
