The Flamboyant Frenchman who the Amber Army christened ' The God with a perm' featured 89 times for Cambridge United. Lionel's career also saw him play for Sunderland, Newcastle & Bordeaux to name a few of his clubs.

Brendon Batson played for Cambridge United from 1974-78 and represented the club 166 times scoring six goals in the process. During this period Brendon captained a winning fourth division championship side. Brendon went onto have a successful career at West Brom and when retiring from the game was involved in the PFA.

Malcolm Lindsay was a tried and proven goalscorer well known to United fans when, in February 1971, Bill Leivers paid the princely sum of £750 for him. Malcolm went on to score regularly for the team for the rest of the season and contributed to them winning the Southern League for the second consecutive season and their subsequent election to the Football League.

I was there! I remember there were quite a few pints sunk later in the Cambridge pubs :)
I was there too though I had to skip the pints afterwards, due to being twelve years old at the time. I remember the silence when Exeter scored and a very sweary guy next to us going absolutely manic when Stevie Fallon headed the winner. Some great players in that squad
Luke rubbed shoulders with some greats in his career made some good contributions to earn his Premiership medal
He really did. There were a lot of people who got medals just for being there in that United side, but he had a great season.
