Hey, THANKNYOU SO MUCH I CAN LEARN FROM YOU. EVERYONE ELSE THAT EVER TRIED TO TEACH ME WERE NOT AS GREAT OR EVEN AS GOOD AS YOU. I WILL HAVE TO SAY THAT YOU ARE A REAL TEACHER. THANKS SO VERY MUCH AN I WILL BE WATCHING MORE OF YOUR LESSONS.
The head turn at 1:55.
It seems that at 10:55 you came out of the direction change by going LEFT, instead of RIGHT. Was there a particular reason for this? Thank you. Nice video!
Wonderfull.
This Video is absolutely horrible, I guess thats its made for either Casper The Friendly Ghist, The Invisible Man, or The New TV Series Ghosts. You cant see Shit.
I’ve watched a lot of videos and this old school one is the best 😅
That looks so cool! :)
It looks like they are inside Texas Hat and Company in Dallas dancing and filming.
DAMM. That cowboy just explained SO much about cowboys. Guess what. Things have changed since you had to “walk into a store to buy the video tape to teach you how to do this”. Thank God! Girls, you let them know if they’re doing it right. 😘 They don’t PUT YOU where THEY want you to be. **You GUIDE THEM to PLACE you where YOU want to be… (AND NOWHERE ELSE.) That man sounded as if MEN teach WOMEN how to dance. Or allow us to maybe. Please… We LET them think they know what they’re doing most of the time. I mean we really hope they do, BUT…
Jackass is still going strong in 2024.
I used to dance at a club called the north forty in russellville arkansas. I used to teach these dances. The last dance that I taught was the 10 Step what we call slappin leather those were some good times. I won quite frequeñtly
It would be nice to see more of Texas two step in Utah/Idaho. Swing dancing and line dancing dominate at venues
He knows his stuff
Hey, do you have the second video?
Can someone please share the name of the song & artist at 10:35?
did you find out?
Finally! Someone who know how to teach the steps, and the why, without all of the quick crap, that's confusing. Thank you.
2:23 "even though you're doing beginning patterns ... even while doing basics, you're gonna look GOOD when you're out on the floor" - #truth! my GF & i camped out on this video & have nailed the basics & we regularly get compliments from people seeing us TEXAS 2-step (not other two step variations) ...
Can you do this alone? I dont have a dance partner.
I was a dance instructor at Rodeo Dancehall and Saloon back in the day! I really miss those days. So much fun! The funniest thing was when two pretty blondes from Texas asked me to teach them a line dance. I was a little surprised due to them being from Texas and me from Pennsylvania. They also offered me 200 bucks for my cowboy hat! To which I said, I can’t part with my trademark!
I like the “whoa” command. Gets me in a country mood
Excellent lesson!
It's important to point out in each & every video that there are ONLY two (2) dance styles done on ANY social Dance Club/Lounge anywhere in the World. Spot/Rhythm & Progressive/Traveling. The congestion Problem (s) we all run into these days is that Dance Instructors do not continually reinforce (Over & Over/ Ad Nauseum ),...... All Spot/Rhythm Dance Styles should be done in the CENTER of the Dance Floor,......Progressive/Traveling Dance Styles are done in the two (2) outside lanes of the Dance Floor. Slower Progressive/Traveling Dancers on the inside Lane & the faster moving dances in the Outside FAST Lane. This way, we can ALL perform our dance of choice at the very same time to each particular Music Selection. Thank You!
Great experienced information, James. I’m leaning into my Texas heritage at 24 years of age, and information like yours is rare these days. Thanks. 🙏🏽
This video represents 'old school' Country 2-step teaching. As leaders, we do not push, shove, crank, or pull our partners. The lead changes his frame, and the follow responds. Modern Country 2-step is a passing of the feet, not together. Turns are led; the follow turns herself. Each partner needs to know their own part!
This looks better than the lazy looking “modern” 2-step. 🤷♂️
Great teacher
To the point
I started four other videos before watching this one through. Some others were still talking 5 minutes before they ever took a step. This instructor spoke briefly, started moving and explained variations. Thank you!
This is more closely how I learned the 2 step out in San Angelo in the early 80’s!
That frequency has now been abandoned.
It sucks being 6'4''when trying to learn to dance. I always feel weird with most ladies at 5'5''..
The misogyny is palpable
Good in structured well some looked relaxed
Been dancing this way over 20 years, this is awesome instruction I show to everyone who wants to learn to 2 step
"Tape"
This video is just perfect
I like cuddling on the couch and watching a good movie like "The Notebook" If I can only find a good women??
Need that sawdust … Good times in Dallas two stepping closing down the club. Music was better then too. Rocky Mountain jeans FTW. 😉
Much more straight forward than some newer lessons. Less is more! Instructors did great back then!
Who is the instructor or the video's title? Does he have more instruction on UA-cam?
Man, I want to go out and buy Theresa's outfit and get my hair all big and hit the honky tonk tonight!
Now we can all prove that we know how to Two Step.
Old style. It’s not done this way for ages
The Music was never explained... the beat count is 1235 leaving out the 4 and 6... you start on the downbeat.. down up down down ...leaving out the two upbeats!
Two-step is funny this way. Quick-quick slow slow is 6 beats of music, but the music is 4/4. The steps take a measure and a half. The 2nd time you do quick-quick, that's beat 3 and 4 of the 2nd measure. Only every other quick-quick starts on the down beat.
Can't wait til the halls reopen.... :((
whats the name of the song?
Terrific instruction strong masculine and feminine represented
This is EXACTLY how I learned two-step as a kid in rural Texas, the other videos I came across don't bring the feet together on the quick step.
You don't bring your feet together anymore because that's outdated... 2-Step has evolved it's a very Progressive dance!
@@danstafford5977 no it ain’t, it shouldn’t be, just like that music on the damn radio ain’t country, original country, original two step.
@@danstafford5977 progressive meaning that it moves around the floor, not that it changes. The "modern" two step isn't.
Step together that is the way we Cowboy dance…everything else is the city version with progressive
I learned more here in 20min than in an hour of two step dancing lessons
hahahaha. That shirt.
It's been 40 years since I went dancing but this is NOT how we did the 2 step in Texas then. This is nothing but boring, just going back and changing speed. I loved a lot of the dances in Urban Cowboy but not this 2 step. There's a better way!
Accident? No. Decision.
