JDF Seminar
This is the first time I attended a Jason David Frank seminar about 10 years ago. I didn't get a lot of the physical stuff recorded as I was participating, but am only going to upload this mental'philosophy section of the seminar. This is how I will always remember JDF.... as inspiring, loving his fans, and teaching a positive mind.

The Black Belts and I filmed all of the fights in one afternoon with no practice, and a lot of improvisation. So although the speed and techniques could look much better... it was made for fun. great stuff! i am new to tkd, but wrestled for most of my life and have always incorporated martial arts throws, sweeps and locks into my wrestling. i also took karate for a few months when i was very young, most of which i still remembered when i started tkd 20 yrs later. i started studying tkd at the age of 25, i got doubled graded and now i am 8th kyu. my grading went very well.

Young man it is so inspiring to see someone like yourself commited to TKD. Your dedication will inspire many people in your Dojang so keep up the good work and positive metal attitude. I started training when I was 13 and I am now 2 mos from my 50th b-day. I stopped training for approx 6 years but missed it so much that I used to dream about not being able to fight. Strange huh? You have awesome talent and natual ability. Keep posting your videos. I really enjoy them.

flipping awesome mate! I achieved my black belt when I was 31. I have had 10 years of raising 4 children now and a rather busy life. I can't wait to go back and you just proved why. Congrats on all your hard work. you would be brilliant to watch in a demonstration or a tournament. Truly incredible. well done.

Streching apsolutely helps if u'r not that flexible. It's good to start streching all of ur muscles at least 4 times a week and you wiil quickly notice that your flexibility and confidence will grow alot =)

  • @Spenser523

It depends on how hard u train. It often takes even less than 7 years, about 4.5 to 6 years

Thanks! Lots of factors on how long it takes to get to Black Belt. School requirements, attendance, dedication, ect. Our school has a minimum time of 3.5 years.... but that takes a lot of dedication. I would say the average for an adult student is 5 years, children can take a little longer. But like I said there are a lot of factors.

Taekwon-Do is great for fitness! In a Taekwon-Do school you would work on fundamental exercises, flexibility, aerobic, and much more! If you are overweight it helps you lose some, and if you are under, it helps you build muscle. Thanks for the comment and good luck in your future training!
