WARNING: Ever wonder what zZounds does with all of that returned, rejected used equipment? Well the simple answer is They Restock it and Resale it to unsuspecting customers as new again! Think about it, because it can be possessed for a simple one time payment with 45 days to use the item and then sent back, it has to go somewhere right? So you had better examine the merchandise well because chances are if the package doesn't come with a seal like some electronics do from the manufacturer then it's probable used and no they don't mind trying to recuperate their losses through you if they can.
ZZounds is a total scam for some of us . I have great credit and they cancelled my order minutes after being approved. So I called and they apologized and did my order again and it was approved and within minutes it was cancelled. Called back again and they couldn’t give me a reason. I called guitar center and within 15 minutes I was approved for $2500 and only wanted to finance $1400 so made my order and it was confirmed and was to be shipped to my local GC STORE for pick up with in 3-5 days also got tracking numbers so it’s on its way. ZZounds total screwed the pooch on their customer service will never go back and try again. Thank you guitar center for your great customer service. By the way I got a Yamaha trans acoustic cutaway dreadnought guitar and a fishman amp and nice gator case. Really like the trans acoustic guitars from Yamaha check them out they are really excellent for the money in my opinion.
Great tutorial! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm a beginner and recently recorded a cover using the AT2020. I would really appreciate it if you could take a moment to listen to my cover (ua-cam.com/video/y8nbLu_CuP0/v-deo.html) and offer any suggestions about vocal mixing chain. It would mean a lot to me. Thanks in advance!
I'm using a mxl 990 and a focusrite solo
That's what I'm talking bout! That was my exact setup when I started. Great times! Best of luck to you
Awesome work do you have the Logic Pro x template
Hi @ferreal936, sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, I don't use Mac...yet, but It's definitely something I'm looking to do.
Damn man, I had a dream on what you're explaining in this video! Who'd believe that?
This was the best explanation about channel strips. Straight to the point. You are a true natural!
Wow thank you so much for that! 🙏🏽
So thorough 👏
Thank you so much!
Underrated channel
This is a very well-recorded video, from start to finish. Nice job 👍🏾
Thank you very much! 💯🙏🏽
The signal recorded in is already clean so the mix will be super nice! Great work homie!
Yessir! Gotta have it right going in ! Percolate you !!
This is a great video
Thanks a lot! If you haven't yet, please check out my kick & bass video I published today AND I have the Pultec on Vocals video releasing today as well 😁
Good summary. I like using the Logic Pro built in stock Pultec EQ.
Thanks a bunch! That's cool. Logic Pro is an amazing DAW overall, if I had a Mac it'll be my DAW of choice. Thanks for your support!
WOW!!! This is incredible
Right?!
Awesome. We're really glad you like it. Version 2 is coming soon!
That's so great! I can't wait! I'll be reviewing it when it does. Keep me posted :)
So true! And I always regret it, when I bought just another GUI, which - under the hood - doesn't make me a better producer.
Right!
Crazy the words which can be used when your mind isn't full of the n word in seven different tones, along with overly physical descriptions of your dik and the hoes you put it in.
Dang
It only want sadness not love

It's great saturation tool also.Dial down echo time to 0.0 sec and play with the saturation and dry_wet knob and different styles . ua-cam.com/video/TBxgXVRHDB4/v-deo.html Bought it a week ago for 49$. Only thing that's better deal for me was upgrading Native Instruments Replika(got it with Maschine ) to Replika XT for 29$. Echoboy and Replika XT are two best sounding and most complete delays hands down.
That's very interesting! I never thought about it like that. And I agree with you. I had the NI subscription on a free trial and I used the Replika more than H-Delay when I had it. I'm gonna grab it again next week
AI Site that can mix and master your music ua-cam.com/video/gr4UX5hi6tQ/v-deo.html
Thats wild! Soon it will be like our choice to send to a mix enginner, or to choose the AI to work for us (a replacement, but by taste of the producer)
I paid $3100 on sale for the Mercury bundle when I first started using Waves. I'm not going to pay Waves again for those same plugins.
Jesus! 😖 Yea im with you. Even though they “handled” it, it showed some hidden intentions and it just doesn't feel like they did us right from the beginning. I've been slowly transitioning my workflow even though the WUP plan is back, I don't think I can ever spend another dime with them
Great tutorial, fam! I'm using an RE20 with Reaper DAW and I'm always looking for ways to get better quality voiceover/narration. Thanks for the tips
Oh wow voiceover work that’s amazing! Glad I could help !!
If you want REALLY do this…. Get LUNA and use the UAD environment. Closet thing to working on classic gear in the digital domain.
Absolutely! One of these days I'll FULLY step into the UAD world.
Awesome!! Keep up the good work!👋
Thanks a bunch! I'll do my best!!!
Good methodology, you've got me rethinking my workflow. Question. though, why do you have some tracks (like Insert 5) assigned to a bus and also sent to the same bus?
Hi Friend! Thanks a million for the support. Great question!! The idea behind that is creating cohesiveness when mixing as well as saving time and effort. If I have 4 lead tracks that need the same processing, I can just route them to one track and process them that way. 90% of the time I can get the sound I want. If I can hear that individual tracks still have issues, they still have the eq and compression on each individual. It also forces you to really focus on the song as a whole instead of individual tracks. This is just a template but hopefully that helps!!
you are amazin for real bro, i feel lucky i found this channel cause this tut is so good beyond what some might understand the explaintion of the things you were doing was golden! ahhh
Hi Hab! Words can't express how much the pleasure is all mine. I feel lucky to have such a supporter as yourself 🥲 stay tuned I have some wonderful content coming within the next month or 2 😉!
Love your videos brother! Best channel out there. I know it time your channel will grow like crazy!
Hi Brandon! Thank you so much for the encouraging words and support. Your comment makes what I was feeling from my first upload worth it. I receive that 🙌🏾. Stay tuned bro, I have some WONDERFUL content coming within the next month or 2! 😉
Very cool! Lots of great info. Just learning to use my DAW. New to the concept 🤯. It's amazing what we can do now, right from home! Thanks for sharing!
Hi JD! Thanks for watching appreciate the support 🙌🏾. I'm always astounded by what the music industry has accomplished in just the last 5 years! If you don't mind me, what DAW are you using, if not ProTools?
I am just using StudioOne, which came with my PreSonus device. I'd like to get into ProTools since it's the industry standard.
Nice! I use studio one as well it's fantastic. In my opinion I think it'll flood the industry in the next 5 years or so based on the features it provides. I will say that yes if you're looking to be professional (which I assume you are) there is some level of protools knowledge you must have especially if you're sharing sessions, but if I could Id say if studio one is more comfortable its highly comparable to protocols. Definitely explore before you solidify your decision.
You finished by saying you bypass the Kramer Tape……?
Hey Randolph, I see what you're saying lol. What I meant was for this video, I bypassed the plugin. Being that this plugin emulates noise during and after playback, I didn't want to upset or annoy anyone. Hope that helps!
@@mixedby8i Thanks for the reply, I often use Kramer Tape on my Master Buss.
great tutorial, thanks for letting us hear an amazing mix
I Appreciate that, the pleasure's all mine! Thanks for your suggestion!
Kinda odd that this needs to be expressed but good on you for making the video to help others understand.
Hey friend, Appreciate you! I sometimes remember what it was like when I first started and how concepts now that seem like duh were game changing for me. I'm hoping that aspiring engineers try this concept so they won't spend hours making okay mixed like I did. 😆
@@mixedby8i We all started somewhere. I'm an old analog guy who saw the advent of the DAW and a too early adopter. I still prefer physical knobs and faders to using a mouse because i have 2 hand and 10 fingers that can do far more and quicker than one mouse. And I didn't have any automation on my 32 channel board in my first studio. How far we've come! Keep helping! 👍
👍
Good idea man.
Thanks a bunch!
Or use Mixbus 32c....starts out as a console and sounds great.
Right, you could also go with that.
Well duh!!🙄 You’re way behind mate a lot of us have been doing this for years and you only just got it.
😆 Thanks for watching Gareth!
good tutorial , just wish I could hear what your mix sound like with this setup
Hmm You're absolutely right. If you will, check back Friday after 11:45. I gotcha taken care of !
All my mixes suck
If they suck to you my friend, that's why you keep mixing until they don't. Learn and practice as much as you can and reference as much music in your genre as you can. There's plenty of resources (including me soon) for you 😊
@@mixedby8i Appreciate the positive words. Thanks
What abt reverbs and delays???Can I apply it in mono itself?
Great question! I do mix those in mono but not when I'm leveling. When I'm in mono I got it as much as I can hear it and I do whatever processing is necessary. Then as far as leveling I do that in stereo. Being that those are typically stereo effects I don't think it makes sense to try to level stereo effects in mono.
@@mixedby8i Thanks for the answer...🙏🏼
the song sounds like early Kendrick! hard!!
Thanks a lot! That’s honestly the highest level compliment 😀🙏🏽
Early
😎 Ayee!
Great job!
Thank you! And thanks a million for watching 💯🙏🏾
I'd point a noob toward Cakewalk by Bandlab which is FREE (This is the flagship DAW formerly known as Sonar, with unlimited tracks and no limitations). Or maybe Reaper which technically is $60, but you can use it for a long while and just put up with a nag screen.
You’re absolutely right. I’m long overdue for a beginner studio update !
𝕡𝐫o𝕄o𝔰𝓶
I'm a little confused by your choice to label your mixer channels as inserts. This seems to me an unconventional and counter-intuitive use of the term insert. What was your reasoning when calling channels inserts?
I understand your confusion. Mixer inserts on a console means you’re bringing external gear into the mixer. My intended use for the term for inserts in this case was simply because the DAW calls them inserts on the tracks themselves. But the technique is suggesting to apply what may come standard on a mixer.
Hey, thank you for this helpful video. I don’t if you know but one of the videos on your playlist is private.
Always a pleasure! Thanks for letting me know! I scheduled that video to be released this Friday, and I already added it to that playlist. I didn't know YT still shows it as private though. Interesting to know..
I just found your channel today. And let me tell you. For a noob, you are a godsend! Thank you. Subscribed!
That warms my heart to know! 🙏🏾Thanks for the support!! Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to cover friend !izzy@mixedby8i.vision
I know a guy who mixes on regular consumer speakers, then listens to his mixes on higher end equipment to see if it needs any finer adjustments may be needed. The concept being, if you can make it sound awesome on the kind of speakers most people have, then it's going to sound great for the majority of the listener. Then he can go back to polish anything that might need it when listening on higher end equipment. He typically doesn't need to do any adjustments for the higher end equipment on most occasions. This concept of working in mono seems to have a similar mentality. Thanks for sharing this tip.
Hi Anton that's exactly the mentality! Similar to the guy you know I started on $30 desktop speakers that didn't have a good bass response. I was using the mono concept in addition to having these crappy speakers then I would use headphones to get a good bass response. I think we're learning now you don't have to have an extravagant setup, you just have to know how to listen from what you're using. And pairing that with mono mixing where it sounds like crap as well making it sound good makes you a force to be reckoned with. Thanks for your comment 🙏🏾!
The pre can smooth out harsh sounds too.
You know what? I did not know that. I usually crank the hi shelf all the way up then follow it with a dresser. I only use the mic knob to add a little more grit but that makes sense! Thanks bro!!
@@mixedby8i you're welcome fam! Try it on harsh cymbals. 😎 Makes em smooth like butter. 😊
