Jeff Healey 'Guitar Duet Stomp' Cover
Here's my humble tribute to one of the greats, RIP Jeff. I used the webcam to record it so the sound and video are not the best. A few little mistakes but I didnt feel like recording the whole thing again just for 2 wrong notes...

    I think at a very young age, indeed, he played really fast at a high level. And as he got older, he preferred to play more controlled. But it's still one of the best

    There is shredding in classical violin music. A bit more melodic I would say. Van Halen’s style is al over this and to me it does sound like an exercise in speed without melody. Still credit is due and Paul is now an outstanding guitarist

    Paul ripped off Eddie with his drill bit bit, later on Eddie ripped off Paul on the song Pound Cake. It's all good though.

  • @Slicklickz

    It seems to me that he was actually at his fastest between 16-19 when he just ripped and didn't think too much.He had that spastic,hyper,blitzkrieg thing going on. As he got older and matured,he thought about what he was playing more and developed a more calculated and controlled style.

    The technique is incredible but it's just bluxtiydyofoucldoylhculjlcjcuc blah blah blah over and over again. Same bullshit shredding. Who gives a shit. Where are the melodies and harmonies in that shredding? Now go listen to Randy Rhoads or Eddie Van Halen and listen to the beautiful melodies and harmonies in their soloing. Especially Randy his solos could be a symphony with an orchestra. I couldn't hear more than 5 minutes of this bullshit fast intricate noise.

    • @livingbeing1113
      @livingbeing1113 5 років тому

      You may want to check Paul Gilbert's solo records or his stuff with Mr Big. This is just a full shred solo, his melodic's playing and control of dynamics are far, far above anything Rhoads or EVH ever did, it's not even close.

    I remember the first day i watched this REH video tape from a friend of mine. That was 27 years ago!!! I still get the same exact feeling watching this now in 2018. Paul Gilbert raised the bar to a height only he can hurdle. At that time period the glam pop metal scene was the only way you got a record deal in LA. I got to witness it living in the area at that time. Racer X was a great live band with good catchy songs but they never had the mojo that attracted major label attention that Poison, Ratt or Motley Crue received. I am glad he got the success he deserves with Mr. Big.
