America's Great Loop - Just Passin' Thru Episode 56
Great trip! Thanks for taking us along.
I was worried you guys were going to do a Thelma and Louise with your e-bikes.
Just curious, Why did you choose to go this route and fight the current?
It's free.
I would like to know how much the ferry cost and what form of payment is needed. Thanks
As noted in the video, the ferry is FREE
that is amazing shots. Just,🖖
I thought this video was suppose to be 37: min. long . What happened to the other 19 minutes?
No idea why UA-cam displays the 37:13 time. Video is complete as posted.
Fun video. We were in the Momentum parked beside you at Mat Su.
Saw y’all in Fairbanks/North Pole today, welcome to the interior!!!
Thanks !!
Really cool series!
How were the blackflies? June is a bad time for them.
Some mosquitos, but no black flies
I just started watching your videos . With the first one being the beginning of this trip. I'm really enjoying them. Keep up the good work.
Awesome! Thank you!
Love it, these loopers leaving at 5am are nuts. We will be doing it Just Passin Thru style.
Was hoping you would post something today!
just curios what site did you stay at and was it walking distance to rock dam?
It was over 3 years ago, so no idea what site # was. As I recall, distance to Rock Dam would have been a pretty long walk, but doable.
It’s too bad the lock master at the first lock didn’t warn you the second lock was closed for construction. Could have saved you a bunch of time and hassle.
Yup...That would have been nice :)
New Subscriber here this video showed up on my home page as recommended videos, have the video saved so my wife and I can enjoy this evening when we settle in for our usual UA-cam evening viewing
Labrador was an experience but the site seeing didn't seem that great. Weather was a big factor and I am sure it would have been more pleasant with more sun. Good trip and what an experience.. The truck and trailer performed perfect it seems. Enjoy
Trip was good and very scenic.. The huts would not have a favorite place to stay but it would get you out of the elements. Some highways were not marked? See you next time.
Nice view!
rain In NF is the norm. Sunny days are to be embraced. We usually booked the night passage from N. Sidney to Port au Basque and grab some sleep. before resuming our drive to the small village of Peter Strides to catch a helicopter ride into hunting camp. Love NewFoundland. Thanks for sharing the trip.
A good start for the Canadian Provinces and an area with plenty to see. More fun motoring by truck or boat. At least uyour not watching the tide or washing off all the salt water. Good trip and plenty to see. Good video
Would say you have a preference on your adventures, boating or camping?
That's a tough call ! I would say we found the boat travel more pleasurable, but it's too early in our land-based travels to say for sure.
As one of the people that got helicoptered out of the Five Ponds Wilderness on the days after the 1995 storm, I really appreciate seeing this video from the pre-digital days. Thanks for sharing!
Looks like you may get some lashing from Lee. My wife and I have made 14 trips over the years to New Foundland. This same time of the year. These were hunting trips. The "Newfies" are really wonderful folks. Enjoy your trip.
The start of what looks like a super trip. The roads you encounter are sometimes shocking but maybe that is part os the fun. Really love the area and very surprising sometimes. Fall harvest is the perfect time.
For people not able to see NY, this is a shocker. NY is a beautiful state and has lots to offer those unfamiliar with it. Looks like you had a good trip and all is well. Enjoy
Re: Ausable Chasm -- "Grand Canyon of the East". I thought that's what they called Letchworth State Park? I've been there a handful of times dating back to my college years in Rochester.
I think there are a number of "Grand Canyons Of The East" :)
Wow, horrible install with the flexible solar directly on the roof. Whilenit was easy that heat will transfer directly into the camper.......there is a reason the oems dont just double sticky tape them to the roof. Hope you enjoy it this summer.
Maybe you didnt notice the layer of foil-backed thermal foam under the panels? Lots of successful long-term installations done this way. I guess we'll see. So far, everything working great.
Good to see you again!
Breaking in the camping routine slowly. It gets better. Enjoy
Great video! Friends and I used to camp on Indian Lake in the 90's -- sites were only accessible by water. We preferred island sites to shore sites.
Indian Lake is by far my favorite NY campground. Been there many times since the 60's.
You are supposed to stop and get your picture taken kissing the pig.....
I was hoping we'd get a waiver because it was pouring rain...
Welcome back guys, looking forward to seeing you on your next adventures 🇺🇸🐾
Nicely done video. Looking forward to following your travels. We have a 23lde down in Mississippi.
You had a good loop in your trawler and I enjoyed it. Hope your camping journeys are successful as well. That is a whole new game. Enjoy
what'up,Just. Yo. you did pro trip,adios, ))
Is that a radar dome I detect up there with the panels? I bet you’ve got a N!EA 2000 network running through that thing by now also. I know, it’s hard to completely get the water out of your system. Now if you only had some red and green markers alongside the driveway…….
:) We have a bar in our basement, and I've been seriously considering installing channel markers on the stairway.
Might want to make sure you have some space around the batteries for air circulation to keep the batteries cool(er). They don't like heat. Add the 3rd battery now that way they all have the same potential.
Not really a consideration for lithium ion batteries. No ventilation needed. They can be stacked sideways, upside down, no problem. Each one has a built-in BMS (battery management system) that won't allow overheating. Combining batteries of different ages isnt much of a problem either. Not like with lead acid. That's why they cost so danged much ! :)
Was that a no wake zone where Sam and rev passed you?
It was too long ago for me to remember for sure, but as I recall, it was a perfectly reasonable pass. They called me on VHS and we chatted a bit before, during, and after. Nice folks.
@Just Passin' Thru I was wondering if it's different where there are tides, if there is a minimal wake, I'm on big lakes in Michigan so it may be different there.
@@captainkrunch6372 In my experience, No Wake Zones are likely to be posted any place you have homes at the water's edge...and a narrow area to get past them. Fresh or salt water, tidal or not. They were never much of an issue for us, with a semi-displacement hull traveling slowly anyway. :)
Glad to see the return of Just Passin Thru, Glad your water experience turned out so great as I always enjoyed watching. RV life now is a lot ore crowded than boat life. We have enjoyed the rving lifestyle for many years and slowing down because of age. Get out there and enjoy the ride.
Not really in on the RV thing but your boat vids got my hooked. Are the folks who bought just passing thru taking it back to the keys?
The slip they had reserved in Marathon for this winter was a bit too narrow for the beam of our boat. So they couldnt bring her down this year. They are hoping to get a different slip at the marina for next year.
Best of luck with your new adventures
Do you have a boat tour video?
I love my grill on the boat.
Really miss the boat vids, what equipment do you guys use for the videos. I mentioned a few episodes back that a great loop good, bad, and ugly video would be awesome, thanks.
Do it while you can. We have a class A that is sitting and should be way south for the winter but age has dictated that we not do that. Hats off you all and don't let the dust settle. Enjoy
From sea legs to train legs....what a change. Had been wondering if we would ever see or hear from you two. Good trip even with it's problems and hope to see you all return. Nothing like the south, and have no snow.
Hey there ! We have sold the boat and transitioning to RV travel with a truck and travel trailer. I doubt we'll ever be posting weekly again, but we'll be sharing our adventures in some form :) Cheers !
Bravo~you uploaded splendid - see you on my side! 😊
