It’s crazy wicked has revamped my appreciation for Frozen, i do love female lead movies but for some time I was a little angry at frozen since I thought ughh this movie made Disney kind of allergic to romance but recently my wicked fever has made me Re appreciate Frozen. And be so happy there is a lighter Wicked for the younger crowds, it’s not like kids can’t watch Wicked but I’m sure for some might feel it’s a bit too much for them.

They were also getting too old for the roles of highschool girls. Idina also left shortly after her

She joined a tv series The West Wing soon after she left Wicked, but it might not be related, it could just be that her contract ended

That Broadway schedule is gruelling. So when tv or movie comes along, they leave the show.

You have to remember, Kristin had been with the project from the very beginning so she had already been working on Wicked for years. The cast contracts came up in July 2004 and at that time she, Norbert Leo Butz and Joel Grey all decided not to renew. Idina, having just won the Tony for Elphaba the month before, stayed with the production. I don't know what exactly went into the decisions but Kristin had also injured her neck during the run of Wicked (all three of the central love triangle- Kristin, Norbert and Idina- sustained injuries during their runs in Wicked) and I wouldn't be surprised if that factored into her decision to leave the Broadway theatre grind for a while. She had to go on for several performances while wearing a neck brace.

@@therealameliabedelia7821Yeah, I did hear from one of my musical theatre degree professors that Idina had to have surgery on her vocal cords afterwards because she wasn’t classically trained to prevent that from happening. As someone who’s been in community theatre, who’s not as good at the dancing part as I could be, it’s a grueling process for some but it’s well worth it if you enjoy doing it.

Usually stars that originate roles stay for around 1 year. Broadway is *hard*. It's so much stress on your body, your voice, and your schedule with those 8 shows a week. People can't play a role forever - no matter how much people may want them to.

I believe almost every elphaba and glinda (atleast for broadway) have formed really strong and beautiful connections, its like a wicked blessing

@@rainbowinbeigeboots6190 “To Edit My Face And Hide My Eyes Is To Erase Me" and Mrs. Slater’s friendship is PR-fake. It’s a marketing tactic for the film, which is nothing new in Hollywood. A lot of celebrity friendships are fake, but it’s rare to come across genuine ones such as Idina and Kristin.
