No, the servers were still up, you just had to download an update file. It was only on May 31st, 2024 that the servers shut down

The fact this video exists shows that this is a known problem on this model. Mine is doing the same thing. If I squeeze the lid it will come back on. Unfortunately this laptop isn’t worth enough to pay to get it repaired, so it’s e-waste now.
