    I found myself thinking a lot about what you said, particularly regarding Uber drivers and how you would prefer a CyberCab given the unpredictability of what can occur or what you have encountered during your rides. Given one of these encounters of yours was how we initially met when you told me about your channel, I've found myself contemplating how many people I've been given the impression the ride is going well with when in fact they don't appreciate the amount of conversation or the ambience or that I've taken a route they would not have chosen or frankly, where all I could have done wrong by someone without being made aware a rider found fault with either my driving or myself as a person they have to or feel they have to interact with in order to reach their destination and complete said transaction. And it's true that many share your sentiments. Waymo cars have replaced quite a lot of the short journey travel in the Los Angeles metro area, perhaps to make human rideshare or taxi driving almost completely obsolete if ever they are permitted by themselves on the highways or allowed within range of the monorail transport coming to LAX in early 2026. We would maybe only be servicing the areas Waymo is not currently permitted or simply doesn't have the range for. Anyway, without going on too long, I can say I understand where you're coming from, but that honestly, it hurt me. Because while I have autonomy over myself and how professionally I believe I work doing rideshare, I don't have a way to undo someone's bad impression from someone or someone else I've never met that also drives rideshare. I just know autonomous cars have consistent experiences and I as one driver can only be one driver. It doesn't make someone decide what I do is a better experience or a worse experience than a technology company with vehicles that operate by themselves. Makes it hard to feel good about getting in a car and answering any requests, knowing your best just isn't AI.

      Thank you for your thoughtful comment and for sharing your perspective. I appreciate you taking the time to reflect on this topic, and I want to apologize if anything I said felt insensitive or dismissive. That was not my intention at all-I deeply respect the challenges and nuances that come with rideshare work, especially as technology evolves. I truly believe that autonomous vehicles will play a significant role in our future, but I also see the potential for this technology to create new opportunities rather than simply take over. For example, imagine a scenario where fleet ownership becomes a viable path for individuals like yourself. Owning and managing a fleet of autonomous vehicles could allow you to expand your business in ways that weren’t previously possible. Instead of being limited to the rides you can personally drive, you could oversee a fleet providing rides throughout the day while focusing on maintaining the vehicles and optimizing operations. This kind of future could offer a new type of independence and entrepreneurial potential while still keeping a personal touch in the business. I think that’s an exciting possibility and one that aligns with the innovative spirit rideshare drivers already bring to their work. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts-conversations like these are so valuable for exploring the possibilities and ensuring that this transition benefits as many people as possible. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how this kind of opportunity could work or what challenges you see with it.

I appreciate that I'm not too far out of touch with critiquing musk. LOL. Great sense of humor. I like that you don't take yourself too seriously; you just go with it. It's not a bad thing. Don't be nervous. In the end, it's the same thing as just recording yourself for yourself, like a video diary. It's very authentic that way. The camera moving with every movement you make is slightly distracting. I don't know how you had it positioned, but the fixed angle you had last video was ok. Audio sounds great. Distance from yourself to the camera is great with the view in the back. Great choice with the wireless microphone. Because I found so much of what you said insightful, and I have no knowledge of how the video tagging system here works as far as the algorithm, but there should be a way to insert key tags or hashtags or something pertaining to topics you went over. I like the heading, but it's very general and doesn't give us an idea of what we're chatting about. Those who should see this if they know you're covering your thoughts on Musk will definitely take an interest in these discussions. You have a lot of technical knowledge and you're incredibly smart. Maybe as you did with the Cybertruck showing with the test sitting and fun with your co-host, just have a few more indicators for search as to what's going on. People will click. 👍😎👍

    Hey Andy, I like this new series idea. I'm sure you'll keep it interesting. I'm also sure you're aware of the audio issues, which you can refine as able. Coffee: Out in LA, they're not as popular as Starbucks, but when I get a chance to stop by one, I love The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Right now they have their holiday options and I've become a fan of the gingerbread latte with almond milk. Otherwise I usually get the Frappuccino bottles in mocha or coffee that you can buy in the packs of four. World issues and politics: Heavy subject matter, especially given I know you're a huge fan of Elon Musk and while already being a polarizing figure, I don't know that his being besties with our next returning will be in our favor, not to mention he's now got conflicts of interest all over the place being both an entrepreneur and now involving himself in government. Do you find you still appreciate him solely for the innovative and quirky side or are you open to seeing what happens as he goes deeper into American politics? What happens if he becomes an overtly negative symbol of too much wealth and power being a bad thing? In any case, we all keep going, hopefully. Keep up the great work and coming up with different channel ideas. I like the variation.

    Great drone footage captured on screen! Love that you left a small window into what FSD is up to in the bottom left. Look forward to more 👍

    I like the novel approach for FSD videos, and all the info you overlay. Would it be possible (or maybe it would be overkill) to have the power consumption/regeneration/brake usage bar displayed also?

    • @graceshotdown
      @graceshotdown 3 місяці тому

      It’s already there in the bottom of the display under the FSD visuals. ❤️ It’s just oriented a little different because it’s a Model S. 😉

    That left turn at 1:20 seemed a little sketchy. I feel like the approaching driver probably hit the brakes a bit.

    • @graceshotdown
      @graceshotdown 4 місяці тому

      Ironically enough, we hit the same intersection today. We think FSD is treating this particular scenario like a stop sign, when in actuality cross traffic does not stop.

    I recently got this same update and think your FSD videos are awesome! One FSD behavior that still bugs me is how it pre-slows (needlessly IMO) before entering a turn lane. You can see this here at about 5:20, where it slows to about 30 MPH (in a 40 zone) while still in the driving lane. When my car does this, I can feel people behind me getting mad. I usually try to get in the turn lane before slowing down much.

      @graceshotdown 4 місяці тому

      Definitely, there are a few little quirks like this that will need to be ironed out for sure, we are getting really close though. I feel like these videos give the viewers the best angle of FSD to see really what it looks like in the scenarios we put the car though. Thanks again for watching!

    Actual Smart Summon would be very nice to see from this point of view. Can you go to a relatively busy mall and film A.S.S. a few times with the drone?

    • @graceshotdown
      @graceshotdown 4 місяці тому

      It’s on the list. I had a tight filming schedule when I was home last.

    It's very pretty but these big textbook new roads wont be a challenge for FSD. You can find something more challenging, old tighter stuff, high traffic, inner cities, maybe hotel and hospital drop off roads, odd hilly roads, blocked roads etc. Sometimes it's unexpected what trips it up.

    • @graceshotdown
      @graceshotdown 4 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching. Yeah it’s funny even just the last version of FSD wasn’t capable of driving these routes this smooth.
