We made these panels for my 2006 F250 Super Duty, Focal K2 Power 165krx3. If you like this video please subscribe to my channel. Future videos will include A-Pillar Pods, Ported wedge sub enclosure, and rear window amp rack
I know im 6 years late but wish you could tried one single 12 in this same box it would absolutely eat.
W me and my dad made these
Nvm can’t give a picture
Beautiful panels.
I know you built this sometime ago. Do you still have the plans for this box
Hello, what you use to paint( black ) please thank you
I used SEM color coat spray paint. This was custom mixed to match the factory plastics in the truck.
Is there something like this for the 99-03 7.3
Where did you get the bottom bezel under it
Where did you get the dash cluster
Nice box. I like how it has the TW3s up higher in the seat.
How much this cost
Why did you stop making videos?
Need a number to call him I got a 2006 zf6 manual 12v cummins swapped quad cab short bed single axle in the rear I just installed black vinyl flooring and black vinyl seat skins I think that doing this headunit and the headliner will make it amazing already got the 15plus face lift newer mirrors and a flat bed on the rear so from the outside it looks a lot newer
very kool little build should have time lapsed it 👍
what are the measurements of that box
54" wide, 24" high, 9" deep at the bottom, 5" deep at the top. I had to weld brackets to move the seat up 1" and forward 3" to make this fit.
@@AnthraciteElectricapproximately how much air space ?
@@SQ_SilveradoAbout 3.76 cuft
So you use the iPad to control the radio and Android auto?
No, the ipad was the source, the head unit converted the signal to optical output and sent it to the Mosconi processor.
Can help me out on the demencion on the the box u build for the 3 tw3
Hi, cool build.. how's the iPad holding up with heat? I keep seeing comments about it overheating in the truck (lack of air flow). Thanks
I never had trouble with heat, though I always used the truck for moderate drives. Never more than 1 hour or so at a time.
Amazing work. Finaly someone with a older superduty clean biuld .My trucks a 01 ,couldnt give up the 7.3 Im in the process of making my pliars, door pods and blow thru box for 3) 13w7s. one day my last step i also want to do the same dash for a samsung 12 inch tab.Whats the devices you used to feed your amps a signal .My issue ill have is i have older equipment so i need to use rca's any advice . i have all older jl 1000/1s and 300/2s
Hello, I am replying from my other YT Account. For this build I went from the IPad to the Sony Hi-Res player using the lighting usb cable. From the Sony head unit I used an optical cable to the a Mosconi 8 to 12 Aerospace processor, then from the processor to the Mosconi Amps using RCA’s. I am pretty sure Audio Control makes an adapter that may work for your setup. I would maybe message them and give them the layout of your system and see if there support will message you back with a current part number that would work for you.
Looks factory and great!
you looked up soundman whos in california but wasnt feasible for you which is understandable but then you looked up other places and ended up finding a guy and shipping to to him who is in California??? that makes no sense lol clean build but story made no sense at start
Thank you for your reply. The location of the shop was not the problem, at the time I contacted Soundman and never received any followup. After not hearing back I searched more and Found Jamie Fifield. Hopefully this clears up the confusion. Thank you for the compliment on the build.
@@AnthraciteElectric ahhh that makes sense then and for sure definitely found someone who knew what they were doing even tho sadly soundman didnt reply
WOW impressive!
How you doing mike Shea. Would you have those door panels for speakers. I have a 2006 F250
I don’t, I sold the truck about a year ago
Can I order these from you?? I can’t find anything that looks this good
Sorry, I just do this as a hobby. I do not do builds for sale
@@AnthraciteElectric if you change your mind name your price
Awesome dash man. An inspiration haha I’d just love to put in something with Bluetooth, and honestly I’m dreading pulling the dash apart.
4 year old video. But here I go. Hope you respond. Where did you get your speaker olastics on the doors?
I made them, used .25" clear acrylic and had a local sign company make vinyl stickers of the focal logo, then used an airbrush with abrasive medium to frost the exposed acrylic. Finally I edge lit the acrylic with red LED's.
what did you do with the other a/c vent that was in the front of dash?
I cutout a piece of Kaisen Foam and inserted it in the duct from the vent and used a thin bead of silicon to seal the edge
Mike your work is flawless.
Thanks Chris
What did u do about blocking off the vent
I cut a piece of 2” kaizen foam, press fit it into the duct where the vent was and put a small bead of silicon to keep it from slipping
what door panels?
?
How much did this cost you
The truck was completed over 2 years of working on and off. I do not remember the cost of the dash panels, Fifield Fabrication in California did them for me. I did the door pods and the A-pillar pods.
This looks awesome
I want some
Good afternoon, It was hard to tell in the video, but was the dash trim in carbon fiber? Also, if it was or was not what was it? Thank you very much and stay safe
Good afternoon, the dash trim was SEM 39853 texture coat, once dried I used sandpaper to lightly knock down the finish, then used color coat spray paint that was mixed to match the black factory plastics.
Can you tell me about the speaker panel in your front doors?
Very nice
How much to do this same set up for my 06 f250?
Thank you for the interest in our build. We do not offer this service to the public, this was a personal build. Jamie at FiField Fabrication can quote you, look him up on facebook
I have a Tundra Crewmax and have been battling this same issue. I'm building my own box as well. Can you please give me some insight how you figured out your port on a wedge box ? Thanks man and I bet that thing sounds amazing in person 😳
I purchased the box design from Mark at Car Audio Fabrication, I have been building sub boxes since the early 90's and most of the time they come out great, since my first 2 attempts for the pickup fell short (for my bass appetite) I decided to use Mark, he has a PC program that he models the enclosure and tunes the port to your listening style. Once I got the detailed blueprint from him my father and I went to town building the box and I was very impressed with the way it turned out. There are a couple other guys out there that offer box build designs as well, Jeep and Bass and Hexibase. These are not cheap but if you are looking to get it right the first time the cost is worth it in my opinion.
Did you ever build your ported box? I built one and it sounds freaking amazing.
I forgot to mention that I have a 2014 Tundra Crewmax. You will need to modify the seat brackets to fit the box behind the rear seats
Could you share your box dimensions with me, I’m looking to run 4 10s, I already run 3 pioneer shallows in theyre pre-fab sealed box but I’m lookin for more.
This enclosure is 54" wide, 24" high, 5" deep at the top and 9" deep at the bottom. I tried a sealed enclosure with 4-12's before this one and while it had a ton of top end bass the low end was severely lacking. We tuned this one to around 32hz and it slams pretty good. Be careful with the 4-10's sometimes in these types of boxes less subs with the proper air space will give you more output.
@@AnthraciteElectric I’m actually looking to build this exact design but with either 2 12s or one 15 as a behind the couch HT sub tuned to 20hz. 62 long, 24 tall with 13” at the base and 5” at the top. I’m assuming you didn’t use a cylinder flare port due to volume restrictions.
@@django2387 I think due to depth a 15" may be tough, and 2-12" will give you more cone space. The 3-12" JL's in this enclosure slammed and played down to 32hz. I choose to make the port out of MDF because I was already purchasing 2 sheets to make the box, I had enough leftover materials without needing to pay for an additional port.
Superb install! Classy well thought out design be it sounds great. Maybe you can do a sound clip
Good morning, thanks for the compliment. The truck does sound amazing, I sold the truck in July so I could start a new project, we placed 1st at the Carlisle All Truck Nationals in the T-Building display. I had 3-JL 12TW3's, 2 sets of Focal K2 Power 3-way components, 2- extra Focal K2 3-1/2's, 1-Focal Utopia 8's, 2-Mosconi Zero 4's, 1-Mosconi Zero 3, 1-Mosconi 8 to 12 aerospace, 1-Sony RSX GS9, 1-12" Ipad Pro, 4-XS Power D3100, 2-XS Power D6500, 2-Mechman Alternators, and a ton of 1/0 OFC.
What are you selling
The pickup truck sold in July. It was a fun project, once COVID is over I’m going to start a new one.
There fking awsome
How did you make the brackets
Good afternoon, I had a local sheet metal company fabricate the brackets using 1/4" x 2" flat steel stock, we made 2 pieces that are the same shape at the existing seat mount, drilling holes and welding nuts to the steel. We then used steel stock to raise the seat and move it forward just enough to fit the sub box but not hit the back of the center console. Once the brackets were done and cleaned I sandblasted them and used rustoleum primer and paint.
The idea for the new Ford f150 2021
Ford would certainly sell a lot of trucks if they released a model like this #TheUltimateSuperDuty
@@AnthraciteElectric they will make one like this but unfortunately its for 2022 So we must wait for a year
Whats better sealed or ported for a single cab f150
It really depends on the type of music you listen to and what you are looking for. The wedge enclosure I built provides a high level of SPL while allowing me to hit pretty low (32hz). Sealed boxes are in my opinion very accurate (if going for sound Q) but limit you to the space of the enclosure as far as what size sub and how many of them you could fit. I had to modify my rear seat brackets to fit this enclosure, but for me the extra time and money was worth the effort.
I had 2-12 tw3 powerwedge boxes in a single cab and rewired the boxes I had them on a PowerBass 1500 RMS you blow one voice coil you still have another I also like my preamp under my head unit where I can adjust it from the type of music I listen to and they're still playing
Who did ur door panels and a pullars6? I love how they came out. I have the same truck
Johnson Lake I did the majority of the work, I had a local shop help me body work the panels and a-pillars once the shape was done, and had an upholstery shop wrap the door panels with leather that matches the seats.
Could u send me some detailed pictures of the a pillars and the door panels both front and rear. Also what did u do for bass? Email me at johnsonlake340@gmail.com. thanks
@@johnsonlake3019 I have a separate videos on the A-Pillars and sub box I built for the truck. I went with (3) JL 12TW3 subs in a ported wedge enclosure. I have to weld brackets to relocate the factory seat bolts in order to fit the enclosure. I put 3 Mosconi amps in the rear window (2) Zero4 and (1) Zero3. I recently sold the pickup to start another project.
What did you do to get the wires into the doors?
Khristopher Irby, I fished a nylon string through the door boot and used it to pull (5) speaker wires from the kick panels into the doors and directly to the speakers. I ran the wires directly to the amp rack in the rear window.
Can you do a sound system like yours power stroke for my 99 f350 crew can
Cory C, Unfortunately we do not do this for a living, we did my truck as a hobby, we worked on the truck part time for over a year and invested 20k into the system
The truck is currently for sale in Pennsylvania at Rayco Eurospec, the sound from these door panels is amazing, the midbass hits you like a punch in the face.
Excellent work - how much would this cost me now in 2004?
and the demo? I want to hear that doors
I am an electrician by trade and do this work as a hobby. We do not build enclosures for customers. There should be a local car audio shop in your area that can assist you with this type of enclosure. If not I believe Gaitley audio builds and ships enclosures
