Nice work on this project. I see the design as a great chair for my loading bench. I've dabbled with printer inks for stains, didn't think of adding it to the finish. I mix it with denatured alcohol, mix colors to get whatever flavor looks right, then clear coat. I'll try your method. I have some mica powder colors for epoxy resin that could add a flair to smaller projects using your idea.
Do give it a go it's great fun and comes out surprisingly well

I once made a morningstar with foam and conduit pipe for a live action roleplaying event. At first they refused to let me use it until I had hit one of them over the head with it. I didn't even think it look that convincing. I think mainly it was the pipe that looked like steel.
Yeah I have heard about issues like that before with wooden handles safety if they break and become jagged or whatever. Thanks for watching.

Very helpful information! I've got some old Stanley planes that I hope I can fix up rather than buying something new and praying it's decent quality.
Glad it was helpful! Generally if you find something from the 80's or older the build quality is much better and the steel in blades harder but if you put in the work you can get excellent result. Hope this helps.
It's like if IKEA made high-quality furniture. I love the idea of being able to make furniture that's easy to ship and assemble like that, but is also unique and good quality.

I spend most of my non shop free time in theatre with different groups and societies so it gives me a great opportunity to do this kind of work and explore a different form of making

Hi it's a song called Easy Lifestyle by LesFM. I use Pixabay for my music it's a great source of royalty free tracks and has a great selection just for listening. Hope this helps
