It wasn’t snagged bud! It was a big old carp!

Nope it was as it came, original everything!

Sadly we had a big fire in the garage at our house, and it got burnt. I think it’s beyond repair now, it’s all gone rusty.

I am the same guy, just a different account. I have a original hp 40 gold cup. It has a little lower compression from the factory but is internally in great condition still.

Thanks for the comments! Not sure why so few views, we only really use UA-cam to share the videos with friends, so it’s never shared much more than a few people, perhaps that’s why.

I was wondering if you lost traction because the traction control was set too high? Maybe it was sensing the wheel spinning in the mud and cutting the power to the wheel?

Hi Alison, thanks for the comment. Yes its pretty amazing to think this was 11 years ago isn’t it! So Tom is 15 this year, and we have owned 4 more Caterhams since that R500. He’s not really a petrol head as he cant drive yet, but he does love his Cars and bikes, so he’s sought of getting there. One of our friends has a Lamborghini, Tom thinks thats ace, and has said it will be the car he wants to own when he makes his millions. He also has a thing for Mustangs , so he’s almost a petrol head i guess !!

David, I had some 20% nitro I use on my 1/8 scale buggy which also has a .21 engine. It works fine as you can see in the other videos of it running!

It’s very cool in an old school retro kind of way! Sadly I’ve not got round to fitting it yet as I can’t find the oil pressure sender unit that came with it!

@@nigelpugh You could try to make the signal fit with an resistor box, you take a sender unit that have a higher output and throttle it down to the right signal strange. You would never think about to sell it right?

cem aykan nope mine has always started the first flick of the key! and still does after 3 years of lots of fun on sprints and track days.

cem aykan it depends, are you buying new or second hand? If new you won’t have a problem, Caterham Cars have always looked after me, and this is the seventh Caterham I have owned in the last 22 years!

shadowgamer shouldn’t be too hard to fix, the engine on mine is a std .21 so gaskets and related stuff should be easy to find.

Nigel Pugh alright I will try to find those gaskets, I also have question about your chassis did you paint it blue or was it blue when it was stock?

shadowgamer sorry bud , missed your question again !! Nope it came pre anodised in blue, i think it was because it was the MP6 Sports Version, it had a matching radio too.

Nick , I did not wire in the cut off switch myself, it was pre wired at the factory. But as you say the cable runs from the battery to the cutoff switch, then back from the cut off switch to the alternator/starter motor connections. The cut off switch kit from the Caterham online store includes all the cabling you. Will need.
