Eating and Drinking the Flesh and Blood of Jesus
Have you ever wondered what it means to eat Jesus’ flesh and drink His blood? In John chapter 6, while Jesus was talking to a group of Jews in Capernaum, He told them “unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” Now we know that Jesus didn’t literally mean to eat his body or drink his blood. So what was he talking about? Let’s first take a look at what eating Jesus flesh means. So let’s begin by backing up a little in this story of Jesus talking to the Jews. Jesus told the Jews “Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” Now the Jews not understanding, asked Jesus to give them this bread.Then Jesus said “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. For I have come down from heaven.” Now the Jews didn’t agree or believe that Jesus, the son of Joseph, came down from heaven so they grumbled about what He said. Then Jesus said again “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” So this seems pretty important because Jesus said eating this bread provides eternal life.
So lets see what this bread is and how we are to eat it. To help us understand what this means, let’s let the Bible explain itself rather than guessing. Let’s take a look at John chapter 1 and verse 14 which says “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” So John is saying that the words of scripture, and the character they reveal became flesh. Jesus was a walking, talking scriptures. Jesus was with them and John was able to see God’s character which was full of grace and truth. We don’t have Jesus in front of us today, but we do have the scriptures that reveal God’s character.
Next, let’s take a look at Jeremiah chapter 15 and verse 16. It says, “Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart;” This helps us understand what it means to eat Jesus’ flesh. If the bread of life that we have today is the words in the Bible, then to eat them like Jeremiah did, must mean to read and consider them. David said in Psalm 119:11 “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” And in verse 15 “I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.” David is saying here that he was changing his character by reading and contemplating the ways of God. This is the same idea as eating Jesus’ flesh or the bread from heaven. The Word of God must be read and studied with an earnest desire to gain from it spiritual strength like we gain physical strength from temporal bread. In John 17:17 Jesus prayed to His Father “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth”
So know that we understand what it means to eat Jesus’ flesh, what does it mean to drink his blood. Satan has his counterfeit of this with the idea of vampires drinking human blood, but let’s set that idea aside.
Let’s first understand the symbol of blood in the Bible. This reminds me of Leviticus chapter 17 which says “And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’” Now this is an awesome two verses that points directly to Jesus. In 1 John 2:1,2 John says “And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins”. Now that word propitiation, means atonement or to forgive us our sins like 1 John 1:9 says. So we know that the life of a body is symbolized by the blood. The blood or life was given to us on the cross by Jesus. We are not to eat common blood of animals, but received the life of Christ by repentance and accepting His forgiveness.
So to eat Jesus’ flesh and drink His blood means to read and contemplate the words of the Bible and to drink Jesus’ blood means to repent and believe that we are forgiven. That is what we call sanctification and justification.

    Awesome to see another Oregonian harvesting sweet potatoes! We're only in our second year growing here near Salem. Last year we got 35lbs from about 40 sqft of planted space, but most of the roots in our main bed were only as thick as a hot dog. The best ones were in a bed right up against the south face of our house, where there was also a 55gal black water barrel. I think it must have radiated extra heat there, because there were some good tubers there. But it's a pretty small bed there, and mostly taken up by a few young citrus trees. This year I'm attempting to accumulate more heat in our main bed by making a low tunnel with PVC pipes and fabric row cover/6mil plastic. According to our Bluetooth thermometer, it seems to be working - triple digits underneath in early July when it was still only mid 70s outside. Not quite as high now, with all the foliage filling up the space, but still getting 10 or so degree boost. We are harvesting this weekend, so fingers crossed that this measure worked! I have seen some nice mounds pushing up in our small bed against the house, so I'm looking forward to pulling those out. If we still don't get much size from the in ground bed, I'm considering getting some Georgia Jet slips, as I hear they are much faster producers and more tolerant of cool weather. Right now we are growing Okinawans, Hawaiian purples, and a red/orange variety from Costco, Garnet if I had to guess. What variety did you grow?

    Not to far off. Look at your alkaline / acidity levels . The microbes can't thrive in high alkaline. Carbon/ash neutralizes the acidity . To jump start their soil they used decomposing mud from the swamps.That gave the mix under 8% alkaline levels. Try a small batch in the corner of your garden with corn.

    I was looking for these 2 models. I found that the Lexar Professional Multi-Card 3-in-1 USB 3.1 reader is a better choice because it supports both UHS-I cards up to 170MB/s and UHS-II cards up to 312MB/s read speeds. However, the SanDisk PRO-Reader SD and microSD (SDPR5A8) supports UHS-I cards at a slightly higher speed of 190MB/s but UHS-II cards are not natively supported and are limited to 100MB/s read speed. Also the Lexar is cheaper and smaller. Only the SanDisk PRO-Reader Multi-Card (SDPR3A8) model supports both UHS-I and UHS-II speeds with similar results as the Lexar Professional reader, but at a much higher price.

    • @EndTimeCountryLiving
      @EndTimeCountryLiving 8 місяців тому

      That is a good analysis. I mainly use the SanDisk as I have no use for UHS-II cards. It has started giving me issues with reading cards on first insert. I have to reinsert them to get them to mount about 1/3 of the time which was not the case when I first got it. I will probably switch over to the Lexar at some point.

Black gold is screened, and finer than the premier brand, much like the Sunshine brand you show. For myself, I'm sticking with the Black gold. I think it's a better product for the money. Antiquitech - ether power (the domes and steeples you see on old buildings) if we could only get back to it. My toaster has one of those front panels with LEDs and pushbuttons and it's dead (Jim). Toaster elements heat up when you manually hold down the lever, but the control board does not power up the solenoid. And I can't locate any specific desoldered points. It was only $5 from Goodwill and we got 2 years out of it, so no complaints. So it's back to a thrift store for another one, hopefully less electronic.
