A good analysis of modern history, but his solution for a pacifistic christianity being the answer is exactly how things have been since the 60s, going along to get along, and it didn't win over any secularists. This guy is a subversive liberal.

sorry, but calling Darth Vader and Sauron depictions of pure and unredeemable evil shows a lack of knowledge about these characters and nothing else.

Always enjoy listening to Professor Alec Ryrie, great lecturer.
Alec identifies many of the issues & problems of the 'Age of Hitler' but his solutions are unworkable for many reasons.
Interesting series of lectures. It would also be interesting to know how Professor Ryrie sees the current (November 2023) events in Gaza impacting the post WWII moral norms. The one time victims seemingly acting in ways virtually identical to their one time oppressors. It seems to stand things on their head. I think Israel is rapidly using up it's 'moral capital' in the minds of many. Witness hundreds of thousands marching in London against the Gaza war. I think a Rubicon may have been crossed. God knows where we go from here.

What an excellent lecture. Alec Ryrie's interpretation sheds light on this key transformation in collective Christian consciousness in Europe and America.
Wonderful lectures. Many complex ideas explored. I am going to have to spend a lot of time reflecting on these observations. Thank you for uploading.
