Dette lyder bra nå fungerer motoren så da er det bare å glede seg til Tønsberg båtrace 2022 ! 🇧🇻🥂🥳
Image 6 - Sleigh Ride at Watergate Bay. This particular image is from ZapCat racing, which I still think is one of the closest thing we have on water to Rallycross. Sure, in the UK it’s morphed into ThunderCat Racing but it still remains one of the world’s toughest watersports. Its grass root powerboat racing with 4 metre inflatable catamaran race boats which can hit speeds of60 mph. The idea behind this image comes from around the world yacht racing where they are ploughing their way through the Southern Oceans and take a huge wave over their deck. It was taken down in Watergate Bay in Cornwall, just the most perfect venue for photographers and such an accessible watersport to photograph, as long as you don’t mind the cold. Image 7 - GT15 There is no doubt that throughout my time in powerboat racing I have worked with some of the best teams in the business, the likes of the Victory Team, Team Abu Dhabi just to name a couple, who have a vast group of mechanics and technicians working on the raceboats. I have also photographed races where the team is made up of family members crewing for their sons or daughters, particularly in classes like GT15 and GT30. With this image I tried to portray the level of trust they have in each other. Personally, I think it can be harder to race a boat when your family are the team, especially if you are following in their racing footsteps. There is no place to hide if you screw up the weekend, can you imagine the conversation in the van on the way home on a Sunday night. Image 8 - Mette. I was not sure whether Mette would be up for this photo shoot, bearing in mind she was making her F1H2O race debut, but I am glad she agreed. The opportunity for me to shoot a race in London meant that I would miss the F2 race in Denmark which had caused me a real dilemma. I wanted to try something different and so I put the idea to her of photographing her wearing a race suit in central London, Piccadilly Circus in fact. Once again there is an element of trust here which we have develop over several years of me photographing her racing in F2. She is a bit like me she doesn't suffer fools gladly, in fact for those couple of hours I actually felt like a ‘proper photographer’. This shot works because all the components were there, the London Underground sign, and big red bus and a London taxi in the far distance. I have to admit it was my favourite shot taken that entire race weekend. Image 9 - Rouen 24 Hours. Without doubt my favourite race in the calendar. It has such a special atmosphere I can only assume that it is similar to Le Mans. I have been going to this race off and on since the early 1990’s. Back then it ran throughout the night and I loved standing under the bridge listening to the 3 litre OMC engines howling down the Seine. Even at 1am in the morning the bridges overlooking the course would be packed with spectators, they like me, probably could sleep either from the noise. Back then it was tough event to photograph, particularly as we were shooting transparency film and you had no idea whether you had exposed it correctly when you were shooting hand held into pitch darkness. It was almost a gut instinct as to whether you thought you had got it right. These digital days makes it less of a guess, plus the technology makes shooting in low light more accessible. This shot is Philippe Chiappe who is a local hero in Rouen and has probably done more for this event in recent years then any other racer. I personally think if he didn’t race then the crowds of thousands of spectators would diminish. Personality is the key here and this gent has it by the bucket load. I really wish we could go back to multi brand racing like they had back when I first stated going to the event. I think this would help develop a following in the sport as people could chose a brand, they are loyal to and follow that team like they do in other forms of motor sport. Image 10 - Inverness Start. I was extremely fortunate to be asked to shoot the official photographs for the Round Britain Powerboat Race which took place back in 2008. The last remaining long-distance offshore powerboat race of beyond 1,200 miles anywhere in the world. It was a massive test of boats and crews demanding careful planning, stamina, seamanship, determination, navigation, and speed. For me it meant hanging out the door of a helicopter for the best part of ten days. I had flown with the Castle Air pilot on several occasions and I knew he would put me in the right place at the right time to get the shot, all I had to do was press the camera shutter. For this shot we knew the boats would be in convoy for about ten miles as they left Inverness in Scotland. I was so wrapped up in guiding Keith, the pilot, that I had forgotten to set my shutter to continuous, so as we passed the top of the arrow like formation I pressed the shutter and got just one single image rather then the ten frames per second I had hoped for! Sometimes the gods are smiling on you.
Image 5 - Attacking Vikings. When I left F1 I was contacted by Chris Witty, who, along with Steve Curtis had set up the Pro Vee European Championship. One of the rounds took place in Bodo, Norway, the only powerboat race to take place inside the Artic Circle. Because it has virtually 24 hours of day light the race start time was around mid-night. What amazed me was the amount of crazy Norwegians who were out at that time watching the race. I know that most photographers complain about the light but this time I think I had a legitimate excuse! The next image shows us about to get into the helicopter before the race start. Because the water was so cold, we had to wear survival suits in case the helicopter had to ditch. You can see that I was wearing a mountaineers harness which held me in place when I was sat on the door frame. Once, we were covering a Pro Vee round in Arendal, Norway. The helicopter had taken off and was buzzing around the sky pulling all the G-Turns. Eric Michell then got hold of the end of my harness and carabiner which I had forgot to attach before we took off and waved it at me, he certainly got my attention!!
Francois Salabert was NOT killed at Bristol
not fast
Agree to that part! Music spoil the fun and sound!
Dude... first: They all have lifejackets - Look again! Second: I've seen 32's do more seas than that, and they handle it with ease! 36's did 4-5 meters without a hassle (and I was there when that happened)! 46"?!? Are you stupid? Agree to the racing part, but they tested the boat for a race, so you and anyone else should have no problems to live with the text on the video! To end the discussion - Shut it or use your energy on a race instead! A lot more fun than being a douche on UA-cam!
i hate when people cover engine sounds with music
I blame it on the GoPro slowing you down :) Maybe another 1/4mph scrubbed off with that thing up there catching air. Looked stable. Your RPM bumped up a bit at the end of your 2nd pass. Did it start slipping a bit?
nice run the speed is nothing to sneeze at good job
Listen to the sexy scream of the Mercury....orgasmic boatporn!
I knew Tim Seebold way back in the day, actually went to school with him.Watched his family race here in St Louis many times.I hared Mike races offshore now,Bill Sr retired along time ago.he was as fast as anyone
He didn't die and went on to win many world championships. A French driver, Francois Salabert, was killed in a remarkably similar accident to this at Bristol, I think the year after this, and if I recall correctly a Norweigan driver was killed the year before.
I hate this bullshit, stuff like a builder from here and a we from here are better than them over there....NO ONE IS BETTER THAN THE U.S.A. Get it world? No one!!!!!!
Awesome name dude
Without ever flipping over. EVER. Rides like sliding down silk..smooth and soft. Almost as if it glides..... ;)
Give me a job and I'll give you a boat that does 300 mph and up.
im' getting these for christmas..
he died?
Tim is the youngest of the family, Brother Mike took the reins when Big Daddy Bill retired. Damn I miss the old days when Reggie, Lee, Bennie,Buck and all my friends that pasished back in the day. Wonder if Jim Bo is still pounding them props on trailer hitch balls? I was there in the day/ I tested WS Hollows boat for him in the unlimited race at Fenton Park. RIP Joe and Kenny! Miss all you guys. Oh Reggies still a prick LOL
213 people are gayy
tim seebolt is gay
Cool that Guy shit himself forsure!
Shouldn't surprise anybody that a boatbuilder in America, owned by two Norwegians, and a turbine engine buiider, owned by another Norwegian, would sell lots of product in Norway. :)
wow I have not seen this video in along time. I shot this video for Amsoil's 30th Anniversary. I was in the water up to my neck holding a Canon XL1 camera. I was lucky enough to spend the whole Weekend at Cypress Gardens with Terry and his team. If I remember correctly Terry only broke his finger in the crash. Thanks for the memories and for posting. I still have the front cone that broke off.
@Mistertbones It's his son. He is my second cousin, really nice guy.
Any relation to the legendary Bill Seebold?
@ihaveairlockers Who the FUCK says i'm eating at Brygga at all? I don't. ''good beer, like Aass'' That is just your selfish oppinion... Everybody has different tastes.. No We don't want MORE kebab shops... More kebab means more immigrants.. that equals bad.
@ihaveairlockers No, no, no, no and hell NO! It has lot's of atmosphere! It's and old town, oldest one in Norway with allot of viking history and such.. We don't need no Thai or Eastern shit here. No one is gonna write a letter because no one agrees with you.
its the wonderbread boat!
Absolute Terrible video and audio
@Wizerdrix and all your videos are of video games. You're amazing!!!!
No rod holders?
Cool boat and looks like its doing quite a few knots :) but cameraman plz cover the sound thingy on the camera next time or edit it and leave the beautiful sound of those turbine's :) just love that sound
i remember this boat, the seebold/budlight team sold it a few years ago after budlight cut back on sponsorship. i rode in it three years ago i believe, they used it for fundraisers at the races, i think i was in northern colorado at a race when i rode in it. did it sell? does it do like 100 or something? i dont remember anymore
Very cool! Sweet boats.
That's the race at Cypress Gardens, FL, not Minneapolis.
You are absolutely correct, I was at the stands before he turned left and took the ramp and crashed, fortunately it was a wood wall.
ill buy it. 26,50 euro?
Im 23 and im doing hardcore architecture (well, with hardcore I mean, a massive work I am doing). I just finished my architecture course in Oxford University and I started in Universidade do Técnico in Portugal. Im doing the impossibles now to enter in the Dubai tourism project. After all my sacrifices and hard work, I believe I will get a brand new boat of my dreams. By the way, do you know what boat am I talking about? It's not the one above in the video. Google images: Donzi 38ZR
Are you sure? Because these is my dream, I will have to have this boat. What about a used Black Donzi 38ZR? Where does the price reach? By the way, thanks.
I wanna buy a Black Donzi 38ZR. How muxh can it cost? be serious
Damn straight. My point exactly.
Its a long time ago !
WOW! Glad to see Terry was OK.
We will do a pro video with fixed cameras on the boat when we play, but this was just a teaser.. Great boat, great speed - generally good fun ! Stay on the hammer.. Frode
Can't hear or see it run. Crappy music. NO SALE.
Go Frode!
