Recap of Stacy and Sue’s Excellent Adventure 2023
Glad you are on the mend! And now you’ve gained immunity!!!🎉🎉. Immunity from the nasties is the best medicine ever. Being sick in the road is not fun….just have to ride it out! I read your book ❤
Be well! My husband & I had covid about a year ago after a cruise. Fortunately, I was laid lower than him, despite being generally healthier.
So glad you're on the mend, Sue Ann :)
We were fully boosted and DH got it twice and I got it three times. No guarantees. Glad you are better..
Hope everyone had a great time! 👍👍
Oh btw- I’m a new sub. I love supporting other small channels!!💜💜🙌
Hi there Sue Ann, I just stumbled upon your video- yes absolutely Goodmoring & Goodnight text check ins and life 360 is a simple way to stay safe! My youngest son in his late 20’s is a trucker and we share Life360- I plan to be nomadic soon. Recently my sons uncle from his dads side (also a trucker). Was found deceased in his truck. He failed to meet with another Driver at a planned time. Had it not been for the planned meetup - it could have been days before anyone noticed. I will always feel that if he had been regular with a Goodnight check in then his son maybe could have looked on life 360 seen his location and had the truck stop do a wellness check that night and maybe things would have been different. I realize sometimes it’s just our time- but most the time just a simple check in can make all the difference. ❤❤
Wise words….
I agree with you, Sue
Wise words. We at @4e Winery are happy you are alive and kicking!
Beautiful
All good advice. Also consider wearing an ID bracelet with an emergency contract #. Helpful if hiking, walking the dog, etc.
I like this idea.. do it Sue, please :)
Good morning! Happy Taco Tuesday!! 😊
Congratulations 🎉
Have you done a video yet on cooking in the van? Some of your favorite easy van meals? :) Your van’s fridge works when the van is off? By battery power?
My favorite line! “Who can be sad when you have twinkle lights?” 😊
I still have them. I’m on my third set.
@@Sueannjaffarian-NovelRV do you have a towable behind it? A smaller car to drive around in when you’re parked? Or is this your everywhere all the time auto? Do you ever worry about having your literal house with you in the grocery store parking lots?
What is the water pressure like in a van? How long do you have before you need to stop or run out of fresh water?
Water pressure is decent. Water use depends on how much I shower, clean, do dishes. Generally, I need to fill between 6-8 days.
@@Sueannjaffarian-NovelRV is water a free resource at a lot of places or is that an expense? I would hope could find someone or a business to just let you get a little bit but I suppose that’s a lot of gallons. I know you dry dock a bunch so water isn’t just free-flowing.
@@wildflowerblessings I have a couple of apps that show where to get water. I have had to pay for it a few times, but seldom.
@@Sueannjaffarian-NovelRV that is awesome! I know you’re not back here til November but we have plenty of water falling from the skies this past month! Good gracious there won’t be a drought or shortage in Texas so far. :)
5 years ago! I figured I would go back and watch these from the start. :D I know! I’m super late to the party!! 🎉
I believe the most difficult task I would imagine of being an exceptional writer such as yourself is that you pour your heart and soul and months into writing these offerings. And then we devour them like fat kids finding chocolate! 😂 I know it must be so crazy to have people asking, “When is your next book out?” You are always a joy to read and I know you’re creating every single day for us! :) Thanks for your contribution to my reading today!! 🎉😊 Happy Release Day! (Yesterday)
Thanks! Yes, it’s frustrating to have people harping for new books, but better that than having them not caring.
@@Sueannjaffarian-NovelRV I’m ready when you are! :D
Perfect timing. I just finished "A Very English Murder" and I got an email saying my preorder of your book was here. :) I'm seriously thinking of taking to the road. I'd much rather have someone rain on my parade than pee on it. :) Jon in rural BC, Canada
🎉 Congratulations! I'm thrilled to read this! Any signings in Idaho?
No. I’m not doing traditional signings. Mostly online discussions.
Yay! I've been following your adventures from the beginning, and am thrilled for you that this day has arrived! It's sad, though, that Dawn couldn't be here to share it with you.
So happy for you. I ordered the paperback but am really waiting for the audiobook to add to my digital library!
Your title rocks! I preordered the book. Looking forward to reading it.
Brit here. We've had five cats over the years and two were "trouble" with travelling. We'd often set off somewhere and then I'd notice Scamper in the rear view mirror sitting on the rear parcel shelf. She'd just sneak in when we weren't looking. Maisie was worse - she not only got in our car, but in any car or van she could find a way into. She was forever being brought back when the driver discovered her, but on one occasion she went missing for several days and was eventually found in a cat rescue centre after the driver found her and had no idea where she had come from. We even took Scamper on a narrowboat on the canals for a week when she was quite old; it only took a few hours before she was quite happy and would sit on the roof or the rear deck, even when going through locks. As for the other three, they hate cars.
Love this!
Do you use some type of temp monitor? Or have a camera to visually check on.Moxie? I have Waggle to monitor the temp but trying to decide if and what camera to use. Love your thought process. So true on everything. They love being with us and we love having them with us. 💜
I don’t use any sort of monitoring system except good sense. In the warmer months, I run all my errands early in the morning as much as possible.
@@Sueannjaffarian-NovelRV I always worry when Max is left in the van. Thank goodness I have a generator and AC so I can turn that on while I’m in a sore or such. Think if it was longer than just for errands I wouldn’t go unless hooked to electric for AC and use the monitor. Always a trade off and their safety is first!
Is that Moxie I hear in the background?
It is! She was on the picnic table in her carrier.
Actually, I hadn't noticed. But when people are talking, I usually play card games. I wonder if tanning cream would help. When I was a teen, back in the 60s, there was artificial tanning cream. I tried it and turned orange. So, maybe not that. Orange splotches wouldn't be an improvement. I wouldn't worry about it. It's just you. And you can always cover it with makeup, when you get dolled up for a book launch. :) Jon in rural BC, Canada
Happy Nesting!
To me, Nomadic Nesting sounds like a vacation from travelling. Everyone needs a change, sometimes, just for sanity's sake. Will your book be out on Kindle? Safe travels ... and nesting. :) Jon in rural BC, Canada (watching UA-cam when I should be writing!)
Yes. It will be out on Kindle.
I'm thrilled for you, Sue Ann! Preordered and waiting for June 4th.
Thank you!
Congrats on your book! Is it a philosophical look at nomad living or does it go into the details of life on the road? I'm too old to go through all the faff of getting an agent, like I did when I was young. If my crime fiction books ever get finished (stuck in the middle) I'll just go through Amazon and Kindle. You actually get more money being an indy, rather than in print. Jon in rural BC, Canada
Both details and thought provoking.
Just got a very small travel trailer two days ago. I'm 66yo and will be soloing and really appreciate your video. This video is useful to everyone. Thank you. Subscribed.
Happy trails to you!
The great mystery
Did you get reimbursed from last. Camp?
What flavour milkshake ?
Were you a teacher?
No, I was not.
You have a nice voice..have you ever considered reading fior e books?
Congrats! I wanted to buy an RV when I turned 65, but my son convinced me a house was safer. Sure, it is, and I have good neighbors and a nice community, but I'm bored out of my brain. I'm not much of a joiner. Why am I not out there? I don't think my two old cats would do well cooped up in my minivan, and I have bad hips and knees. Your Novella looks just the ticket; you can stand up and easily park. :) I am so envious right now. But I'm waiting on test results, and I've got to declutter my house. I hope to meet you on the road one day. We can talk writing until other people's eyes glaze over. :) Jon in rural BC, Canada
Novella, cool name. She must be a shorter van, then. :) I have a Pontiac Montana. Monty doesn't have the pull down DVD player, nor the extra storage area in the back. He isn't the full Monty. I'm repairing my old laptop so I can write on the road, if I ever get there. What genre do you write? Mine is crime fiction. Jon in rural BC, Canada
Mostly I’ve written murder mysteries, but I’ve branched out recently into general fiction and travel.
This is the first time I've seen you. I like your common sense, rather than clickbait or fearmongering with monetized agenda. I subscribed. :) Jon in rural BC, Canada
Thanks for subscribing. New video dropping this next week!
Happy anniversary
Congratulations on 6 safe and happy years with Moxie and Novella !
I love watching ur videos ❤️❤️ subbbed
Good points here. Thank you. I think rest stops tend to be quiet. Maybe Walmart should pay-to-park and give it back if you aren't a pig.
Safety is very site specific nowadays as violent crime and homelessness have increased dramatically. As Sue suggests scan an area. Become an observer. Analyze movement. Most persons today do not have observational skills. They bury their faces in cellphones. All Walmarts are not equal. In Texas Hill Country they are exceptionally safe. On the other hand I recall a Walmart in Fresno, CA where parking lot security was robbed at gunpoint. I have been an RVr for over 20 years. Former law enforcement. Watch instructional videos on personal security. With training carry pepper spray or a gun if legal.
Sue! This was my first of your videos! Have NO IDEA why I never watched before. Very enjoyable...very professional. You probably know this will make a great article.
Thank you!
Loved this video Sue Ann. Thanks so much
I’m glad you’re back and can’t wait for the book.
