try to move your front wheel up instead of letting it sink down in scenarios like this, all of your weight landed on the front wheel making it hard to control and the wheel turned and you fell, on the other hand if your weight landed on the rear wheel followed by your first it (or both at once) would be much more stable as the rear wheel can’t turn.

MY problem with doing jumps is that i lean forward so i will rarely do them

Change the rear wheel on the GT....... It is provided with a freewheel which can snap the axle due to the bearing race being too far from the drop out. The free hub / cassette system will not bend and break

Heavy ass bike, but It was my first bmx purchase in 2000'...mine was burnt copper and the weight fucked me up many times doing jumps and riding around town. Still, great quality bike and the bontrager components looked cool as hell....traded it for a gt performer, waaaay better lol

I have a very cool, very heavy 1997 Gary Fisher Pure Bender (Kick)! It is all original as it would have been brand new in 1997, even the original tires on it that look brand new. My wife bought it for me at a pawn shop. Mine has aThe yellow frame and black bars which is kind of hard to find in that original color as most of that time had a dark green color frame. I am going to keep it as original as possible just because you just don't see many of them unaltered because everyone stripped the originals of the factory parts to get the weight down.
