Hi there, Dominique was introduced in 2009 using the Josephine Baker mold. She was not wildly popular and a new mold, which met with more success, was launched in 2010. She is styled as Adele Makeda’s cousin. She’s on the video list. Thanks again for watching!

Thanks for writing in! You may have found Tina or Tilly, one of the little dolls designed as baby sisters to the Alta Moda dolls. They were just as stylishly dressed, but were more baby-faced than the bigger dolls.

Sasha Morgenthaler's vision was to create dolls that reflected the spirit of children of all races and cultures, by means of a stylized approach that was not strictly representational. The skin colorings were carefully chosen to evoke this concept. When Gotz produced later Sasha dolls in the production with markedly caucasian skin-tones, even to the extent of adding blushing to their cheeks, their license was revoked by the Morgenthaler family. It was felt that these pale dolls were no longer in the spirit of the artist's original vision. I believe the dolls must be viewed through the prism of Sasha Morgenthaler's initial concept, and accepted for what they are intended to represent. There are plenty of other play dolls with pale skin and blonde hair out there! Thanks very much for writing in, I appreciate your comments.

@BoldDoll but if they were meant to represent children around the world she should have done it the way they are not changed their skin color to one tone because I do see she made some black dolls instead of given them the same skin color with their original features.

Le principe de cette poupée est qu'elle est un hommage aux rares poupées de mode françaises des années soixante et qu'elle utilise les mêmes techniques de fabrication que les poupées de cette époque. Les poupées de mode modernes, comme Poppy Parker, utilisent des méthodes de production complètement différentes et ne sont pas finies à la main. C'est vraiment comme comparer des pommes et des oranges ! Merci beaucoup de m'avoir écrit, j'apprécie.
