Same as below, if you have a thermostat turn it up until boiler kicks in. Also check your radiator trv's are open with a number higher than 0.

Energy Efficiency is now based on ErP. If 12 years ago it may be based on a different scale. Regardless, new boilers now have new technologies such as modulation which whilst it may not change the efficiency rating does result in less gas usage meaning savings on gas

Is your filling loop open, or if you have the blue tap is it jammed open? Could be when you are releasing pressure it fills back up right away. If not i'd definitely give Worcester a call or whoever installed it for you. Shouldn't be that high, is it a combi? The error code normally relates to the flue so will need a gas engineer to sort this out im afraid

@@iheat The filling loop looks fine. But the 2910 error has gone and I now get a 2961 and occasionally changes to 2962 error. Googling the error shows it's related to the fan. I have an engineer coming in the next few days.

Okay hopefully they can find the issue, how long have you had it?

@@iheat it's been ongoing for about a week and half. It still works if I turn it off from the mains and turn it on again. Hopefully a replacement fan should fix it

Have you tried contacting Hive about this? Do they offer any support or replacement?

I think its a fair argument but i wouldn't say theres too much difference in price to where if you already have a Hive its a no brainer. Also with the weather in the UK never know if we're coming or going haha. Boiler should be off in summer but there i was turning on the living room radiator last week

Yeah the Nest has built in weather compensation, it uses local weather stations online to determine the current predicted weather. Just double check it complies with your boiler

I would definitely look into Ideal branded thermostats to get the most from your ideal boiler. If not the Nest is the best bet for smart features just double check it works with your boiler

Hey great question! If you have removed the radiators be sure to cap off the pipes or join them up to allow the boiler to fill up with pressure. This will let you use hot water. If you haven't removed the radiators its rather pointless draining in the first place as it would need doing again after turning the boiler off.

If the boiler is due / nearly due a service I would definitely get it done sooner rather than later and mention the issue.

Hey this sounds like a low water pressure error, if you go into settings and boiler status what pressure does it show

Hello a 30kW will definitely cover 12 radiators, when we quote for conventional boilers we look at water speed so maybe carry out a quote on the site. In terms of cylinders we sadly do not replace old cylinders but the engineer on the day may recommend getting a new one and possible quoting you privately.

Hey the LoPro error code relates to Low Boiler Pressure, if you watch our How to top up boiler pressure video you will be able to open up your filling loop and top up the boiler pressure. You can find your boiler pressure under Boiler status in the settings. You may also have the keyless filling loop which is a blue tap under your boiler

From your Hive dashboard, tap on the Menu, and then select ‘Manage devices’. Next, tap on the device you wish to remove, and then simply tap ‘Delete device’. This then allows the new owner to reset and add through the app. Hope this helps!

as long as your boiler is turned on it would usually be the programmer/thermostat that controls your heating temperature and on/off periods. Have you tried one of our helpful thermostat videos?

I try and use the dedicated manufacturers controls to get the load comp etc. I use a lot of Vaillant VSmart rather than the nest/hive 'on-off'controls. 👍

Hey this does sound unusual it could well be the relief valve or the expansion vessel. Have you inspected the relief valve pipe outside your property? It should look like a copper pipe coming from the wall and bending in on itself, If the pipe is wet or there are signs of water coming out of it in the past it could be a sign of a fault with the valve or expansion vessel.

@@iheat there is no sign of water coming out of the copper pipe I have to top up the pressure about every 5 days

Yes all features are the same, its just the form factor and convenience of the mini. All features from the Original are now inside the app of the Mini

Very interesting angle and I appreciate your thoughts. Have you had issues with the plastic parts over the years or is it just because you know they are made from plastic that makes you feel uneasy. Of course high quality or even brass components would be more sought after but if it brings the price down without any actual downsides, is there any harm?

No matter how good the plastic is, in due course it is going to go brittle and then break / leak. In my opinion the less plastic the better. That condensate trap on the 8000 series - what is that all about ?? I have always maintained that if the designers had actually to work on the boilers when in situ , they would design them much better.

Plastic parts in a boiler? My heating engineer advise this for my property and he has been in the business for over 50 years. We had it installed as we changed our home heating to modern radiators from warm air central heating. Cost me 6K all in with a 12 year guarantee!

Worcester do not support opentherm which you would need to allow a thermostat such as the Nest to modulate the boiler. If you want the best compatability I'd go with the easy control, this will offer weather compensation or load compensation depending on which setting you choose. The new nests do offer modulation but it would have to be with an opentherm compatible boiler to make the most of this. Don't be put off however, the 8000 is a great boiler and is super efficient. Using any Nest with this boiler is still a great combination and you can make the most of the majority of features.

5 metres sounds very odd, what thermostats have you offered recently? any that stand out to you the most?

If you switch to manual it will ignore any programs. Or just overwrite it to how you want it to be - overwrite the same way you would set the program in the first place
