Do you charge holiday prices for the entire stay or just day of. For example if I have a client that wants me to dog board their pet for 7 days to visit family for Thanksgiving You charge the holiday fee for just Thanksgiving or for each day

I am in Central Texas. How do you deal with the heat? 100 degree heat is the norm for months during the year. There are very specific windows that are ok to walk. How can you make enough income during these times of year?

I would love to see the yearly cost of grooming for those breeds that need a monthly professional groom. And, yes, there are many dogs that need professional grooming due to various reasons. If you can bath and do nails yourself, that money can be invested in the better food and treats. There are some breeds (and mixed breeds) that truly need a full bath, brush out, cut, nails, etc. In my area, the average cost for a small full mobile groom is $100 before tip. Per year, that alone is $1,200.

I also had a client that was a hoarder but i didnt want to shame them so i kindly let them know I wouldn’t be a good fit for them.

I agree with this business model. The industry is so unpredictable.Thats what I'm learning as a solo operator.

great advice on not trying to 'make the sale' on the first meeting. I'm still in the beginning of my dog walking career and I have to remind myself to not be so desperate to be hired. I don't want to scare someone away by making someone feel pressured.
