As far as I know.. Louis Le Prince's footage shot in Roundhay, Leeds 1888, is the first and oldest footage shot on celluloid. The same kind of film stock movies are still shot on today. Prior to that there were moving images produced using other methods. 1888 is the first Footage on Film. Worth a mention, also by Louis Le Prince is the footage of Leeds Bridge.

It definitely happened . And I just seen with my own eyes on national television a plane disappear. Mainstream media will never let you know this is true . Every one involved is silenced. . I remember this story from a kid . to see another flight disappear same way is crazy !

My great grandfather, Dr. Milo Sorenson played the theater organ for silent movies starting as a boy in 1910 and ending when he joined the US Navy Band in 1916. He told me that all the movies came with sheet music for the organist to follow. Initially he would be faithful to the score but eventually he would completely rewrite the music to better follow the action and excitement. He played at the only movie house at the time in Racine Wisconsin. His dad was a prominent Doctor and Milo became a Dentist practicing for many years.

Just a little quibble . . . one does not call any motion picture series, a "video". In the late 1950's, videotape was invented, yet it was so expensive, that commonplace usage did not happen, until the late 1960's, so television relied on the Kinescope Process, from the very late '30's onwards, until the switchover to videotape was more or less complete. There was a specialized remote monitor, to which a motion picture camera was affixed to film the monitor's display. Kinescopes were used as recently as the late 1970's. In the very early '60's comedian Ernie Kovacs and his production team achieved some astonishing Analog FX, using the infant videotape technology for his TV Show.

I wish the video camera was invented earlier. I'm thankful for the footage we do have but imagine the thousands of years of history we never managed to get on film. Imagine how unreal it would be to watch the signing of the Declaration of Independence, The Battle of Waterloo, or Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel.
