My son had a ruptured aneurysm several years ago and they used too much coil and he has headaches real bad, They say he has a 50-50 chance to correct the error. What can he do. Georgia

I was treated with a shunt in May of 2023 (recently obviously) and in reading articles I don't see recent dates about Adult Onset Hydrocephalus. I am doing well and there was dramatic improvement after the shunt surgery. However, I continue to have itching and mild pain at the site of insertion. My dr. said come back in May 2024 unless I have problems. No major problems but are there new treatments since the shunt treatment? We did the lumbar drain prior to surgery and it showed promising results. I am an 86 year old female.

Recently my son 19 yo (INDIA) have been diagnosed with right sided moya with non visualization of ACA ,basal collateral from right M1. Left cervical and petrous ICA agenesis with rete mirabele reforming the ICA. I hope to have advice from your expertise.

In my opinion is, you want to improve treatment for Adult Hydrocephalus patients? GET RID OF THE PROGRAMALE SHUNTS and go back to the tried and true shunts that u go back to normal life as soon as the stitches or staples are removed!!!

Thank you for this! Just an idea from a patients perspective: Ask the patient what they'd prefer- the ability to look up or the ability to look down. I got stuck with a PEEK Prevail that wasn't seated (at)all the way & it created a bad angle. I cannot look downward very long without a migraine. I WAS an artist that relied on the ability to look down/bend my neck downward. As surgeons, I'm sure you rely on the same neck flexion. Now imagine someone took that away from you and you could never perform surgery again. For the love of every individuals passions... please start considering the patients needs instead of what you prefer to use.

I survived a N. bejingensis 40mm brain abcess which caused seizures and was removed via crainiotomy. I suffered a grand mal seizure on 04JAN2018 and was transported to a larger hospital the next day with surgery the morning of 06JAN2018. I was released from the hospital the following Friday with only slight weakness in the right hand and leg. Physical therapy restored hand and leg strength after 3 months, anti bacterial therapy continued for 16 months. I did develop a strong photosensitivity to flashing lights and am on anti seizure medication for it.

Dr Fady Charbel did brain surgery on me back in 2003 and what a great doctor and guy.this pic of me was after it was done .i let him film the whole 12 hour surgery and have no regrets.i was able to straiten my eyes out on my own trying 1 thing and on the 1st try in less than 5 seconds after weeks of double vision it was gone .if i can do it anybody can...facebook message me .
