Attempt to fabricate and paint a front bumper for the E34
Its been a while! Ive been busy with a new job, but I havent stopped working on the e34! Only stopped editing the videos... but Im getting back to it.
This is my first time fabricating anything, and first time using a spray gun to paint car parts. Fun things to learn.
This bumper project spans July-September. Twas a fun experiment but it wasnt worth it. Theres easier and better parts to fabricate LOL

E34 Fuel System Diagnosis (FPR, Relay, Fuse, Fuel Pump, Fuel Lines)
Переглядів 2,8 тис.Рік тому
In this video, I check the entire fuel system, because I had a hunch that my car had a fuel delivery problem. First we change the fuel pressure regulator (FPR) to fix the low pressure I had, next we check the relay, then the fuse, then the fuel pump, but finally, the fuel lines, which were rusted through on my car. Guess I should have checked under the car first. Now I know! This was for the E3...
Why you should take apart your 100,000+ mile M50 Engine
Переглядів 212Рік тому
Someone didn't know what they were doing when they reassembled by engine in the past. Maybe I don't either. This is my attempt at cleaning up this engine. Head gasket change, valve cover gasket change, vanos repair, vacuum leak fix, o2 sensor change, ICV cleaning, throttle body cleaning, coolant flush. It was a lot in this one. This is why you need to teardown and take apart your M50, or probab...
Stomp Code Test EXACTLY WHAT TO DO - BMW E34, E36, E30 92-95 for OBD1 Cars

ENGINE CODES: www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Trouble/Engine_codes.htm Turn the ignitions, and without a delay, stomp the pedal all the way and be sure to push the button behind the pedal. Then the Checkengine will blink long once, then will blink quickly in a sequence of blinks to indicate your code in a morse code manner I guess you can say. And that is how to perform a stomp code test on an old bmw e...
DIY Smoke Test with a Vape for $15 - How to find a Vacuum Leak
Переглядів 28 тис.Рік тому
My car had a severe vacuum leak, idle would be inconsistent, when the engine was warm it would stall out, after cleaning the whole intake system and cleaning the MAF and ICV, I still had the same idle issue. I saw an at-home DIY smoke test on amazon for $100 and I said nope, I'm gonna use a cheap vape, should work the same, right? Sort of. It helped me find my issue. Plus, your engine gets to b...
How to remove seized spark plugs (hammer trick)
Переглядів 45 тис.Рік тому
FYI hit the hammer on the end of the socket extension First try a longer lever, heat up the engine to operating temp then shut it off and try loosening, then try this hammer trick, then use penetrating oil and let it soak overnight if all else fails. Trick at: 00:54 Yup, just use a hammer and hit the top of your ratchet, hit it some more and add some penetrating oil, yup hit it some more and th...
Can I revive this mystery abandoned bmw e34?
Переглядів 188Рік тому
Introducing my 95 e34 525i. I want to show you that even with minimal auto experience, you can get into the hobby for a fairly reasonable price of $2000. Granted I was lucky that a battery is all it took to start it. I talk about how I found this car, how much I bought it for, how I diagnosed the issues, how much I paid for repairs and if I got I running again 00:00 Intro 00:24 Exterior Inspect...
If it's really stuck, I apply a little tightening torque (NOT too much, just a little) before I do the tapping trick. Sometimes, that allows a really stuck plug to come out easily. Also, if it "breaks loose" and sticks after a little loosening turning, the tighten/loosen process usually helps. Most of my work is with aluminum heads and it takes care to avoid damaging threads -- this can happen even if the plug appears to break loose and come out easily so it's best (in my work) to proceed carefully.
I’m headed out to the garage to try this
Didn’t work for me. I even tried a smaller socket to make sure I was hitting the spark plug, nothing! I’m just now getting my spark plug out. My first step was PRAYING TO GOD I COULD GET IT DONE WITHOUT BREAKING THE SPARK PLUG. Next, I ran the engine at operating temp for 45min with a little penetrating oil in the spark plug hole and then went at it with a hand impact drill. I marked my extension with a paint marker so I could catch the first bit of movement from the plug. Once the vibration from the drill finally gave me a small bit of movement, I stopped and used a breaker bar. Each movement was a popping sound. I used the pops as a guide, 1 left pop to loosen, 1 right pop to tighten, and 2 left pops to loosen. Let the penetrating oil sit for 15min and went at it again with the breaker bar. Kept this method up until I got the spark plug out. My last step was THANKING GOD.
This works on any hard to loosen nut or bolt. I will use hammer at the same time I apply the wrench. It's the combination of torque and impact that will loosen things up. That being said, there is NO excuse for having sparkplugs so tight. Stupidity of some people...When installing new plugs go till you feel compression washer grab, then go quarter turn past that. No more...that will be perfect. Some idiots also overtighten oil filters...
I used my m18 milwaukee impact . Taaaaaaaagghrrrrrrrrrrrr
Add a very light touch of anti sieze to the threads, copper is for high temperature, the silver colored will work. It's impressive. Especially if you have aluminum heads as steel loves to sieze to aluminum.
thx fixed my problem should change spark plug every 50k miles
Man I love you are best
That’s crazy, I’ve been struggling with this for the last 30 minutes and thought no way that’ll work.. sure enough it did🤣
Btw; 1444 means there was a previous code that has been cleared (so I’ve been told)
which one is the return line?
I tried this on my 07 ford f150 n it worked. That mf came out🤨🤟
Shit .. didn't work
Ever get it free?
Amazing tip thanks
Thanks bro!! I have an 01 F150 and I didn’t my spark plugs/coil packs maybe a year and a half ago and everything went well until I got to my #8, far back right, and I tried everything… except just whacking the shit out of it😂😂😂😂😂😂 thank you!!!!
Tools filter 40w❤
Nice!!!!
going to try it this weekend
Yes, let me wail a socket onto this aluminum spark plug, using a hammer and wail on my torque wrench. That won't mess anything up. A mallet and a long extension with a stripped bolt socket would do wonders. But not my engine, so you can mess up yours all you want. Just beware of plug blowouts from messing up the threads.
Just lift up your skirt and shave it already. 😅
reverse hammer , use an impact in reverse
Am I the only one here who didn't get it! I thought you used the torque wrench to tighten the plug a bit, then tap and untighten. ??????....
Didn't work
Did you ever get it free?
@@stevied5648 AN EXPERIENCED MECHANIC TOOK IT OUT
Perfect video with every aspect in it! Thanks from Germany! ❤
I did the tapping lightly with nail finishing hammer but I sprayed pb blaster and slowly made the spark plugs loose
My hammer was pliers (I broke two distributor cables in the process) but it worked fought with it for 20 minutes and then saw this got it in 20 seconds
Can I just add the Lucas Penetrating oil where the spark plug sits and try to take it out?
keep making videos man its cool seeing you learn as you go and still able to teach and show useful stuff without having a huge bass of knowledge - i have a 540 and been dreading redoing fuel hardlines and its nice to see the routing here through your diagnosing
I just wanted to say thankyou . After taking everything apart i didnt want to put it back together and heat up the engine..my ignition coil sits on top of each plug ..and getting to the plugs is removing clamps bolts and wires .you hammer trick worked great . Ty
I don’t know. I got a seized set of 8 out of an old vehicle that also the oil pan was so sludged oil wouldn’t even flow out of the drain plug. These were nearly exposed old school plugs on the block and rusted all around. Put a good 5 second spray of PENETRATING OIL such a WD or Liquid wrench down the plug chamber. Let it soak for an hour. If no success, spray again, let it soak for a day. Never had to fight plugs like this. Some of these videos you risk breaking the plug into the cylinder, stripping the threads on the cylinder. Basically causing more problems.
Thank you so much. My uncle told me to tap but I just wanted to verify it from someone else.
If you're going to do something like tap a stripped bolt socket into something. Use a mallet. Spark plugs aren't made of steel. They're aluminum, you're going to fuck up your threads wailing on something with a hammer. Source? I got a stripped plug out last week doing that. One hit with a mallet.
Tap....Tap
They seize bc of steel plugs in aluminum threads too.
Where can I get the torque wrench?
At the store lol
at the Tesla store
Thank you sir
Mine blinks short once and then long blink then short back and forth what does this mean?
The first short blink means the stomp code worked and the next blinks will communicate the code through blinks. Next will be 4 sets of blinks, each set for a digit in the code, each set has a pause between them, count the blinks in each set and then decode the numbers you get, if you get something like 1221 (Oxygen sensor fault), google the code or click the link to the engine code list in my description Then there will be a long blink to tell you the code is about to repeat itself
Get ya some PB Blaster and fill the well of each spark plug on a cold engine. Let sit for a half hour then do it again. Start her up, let warm up for say 20-30 min. then shut her down and immediately squirt each plug thread body with PB, where it meets the engine. An expanded hot hole, then a cooled shrinking plug and pop, out she comes.
Dicey, risking combustion in the plug well. I think may work without running engine.
@samm1462 Or just use it while your engine is warm not just shut off hot. I mean I've seen a comment saying that a cooling fan will stay on briefly after your car shuts off. This was about a model car I've driven for eighteen years. Never had that or heard if it happening.
The socket is around the plug, it's not hitting the plug at all
The vibration goes to the plug.
nice
I like how every other vid I’ve watched on this say nothing about starting as soon as you turn the key. Got my codes immediately after you vid lol!! Thanks bro
I had the same problem haha so i included it for that very reason
Try tightening plug a bit before you try backing it out. If it’s still stuck after that, or after tapping, Add penetrating oil after you have broke the seal by tightening it. Let it set then try taking it out. May have to alternate in and out and work it out
Did you use OEM fuel lines?
late reply, but i believe i used 6AN CPE nylon braided fuel lines, similar to evil energy branded lines, its been about 10 months with them and theyre doing great, fuel pressure is just fine at around 40psi, goes down to about 20psi after a few days of sitting there. One day Ill consider replacing it with metal lines. I also cut the charcoal canister fuel line and disconnected the evap purge sensor for the time being. All works fine. I dont encourage these choices but thats what I did for the time being to get it running.

GMC envoy stuck spark plug
One time I had a wheel nut on my 8ton truck that wouldnt come loose with a six foot cheater bar.The biggest air ratchet they had didnt work either. The shop recommended I get the nuts cut off by an engineering workshop and fit new studs and nuts. \ Using their tools.A 6 ft cheater bar and 12 in extension onto 30mm socket I got the guy to stand on the cheater at the 9 oclock position and I hit the end of the t bar with the biggest sledge they had in the tyre shop. Got all overtightened nuts off with no damage.Always check tyre fitters work. Wont leave you in the rain on the side off the road in the dark with a wheel you cant get off.
This would not work for me because I use deep well sockets and because they are deeper than the spark plug and it’s hex, hitting the socket, ratchet or extension won’t transfer that vibration to the spark plug, only the cylinder head around the plug. Furthermore, I’ll bet most of you are using a deep well, and this works, it’s a coincidence.
Same here. I’m going to attempt to use a size too small socket so that it sits on top of the hex rim of the plug and then give it a few taps. Did you ever get yours free?
My KTM dirt bike manual specifies that tap tap procedure prior to attempting to remove oil drain plug.
Don't use a torque wrench. We've used a breaker bar before. You can also use a 1/4 or 3/8 inch battery-powered impact wrench set on a light setting.
Coil can only deal with so much stress... Id get the 30 dollar amazon smoke machine.
what torque do you set for removing?
I had the torque wrench set at 70lbs and then when it clicked, I wouldn't go further. After tapping it, it came out under 70 lbs. Best to feel it out and safe about not breaking it
@@MROSEWERKSThanks dude! I plan to change my spark plugs soon.
@@MROSEWERKS Isn't that way too much? That would be ~95 Nm, which seems dangerous. I'm thinking that some spark plug manufacturers specify a maximum tightening torque of 40 Nm for M14 spark plugs. And if you factor in that the head is made of aluminum...
Well designed video good job
Did you have a gas odor from this leak. I have a Mini. Nice video
Hahaha😂
Um.Water vape?🤨
Don't you have to open the throttle body aswell 😊
He did 🤦♂️
Great video
