Several different canopy's in this video. Nano 12 (yellow wing) / Nano 10 (red wing) Skate 8 (black wing) and I can't remember the orange one but it is another 12. I'm 64kg naked on the Skate.

probably a good idea, or parachuting at least. Also skiing skills are rather useful, since speedriding gives you an easier start

Haha thanks mate :) This was just 1 flight, it was strong enough wind to soar and stay up constantly (30 - 40 + mph winds) and we were up in the air for about 3 hours. It was my first flights on my wing (Skate 8) as well :)

Thanks :) I find the smaller the wing the easier it is to barrel roll. The 8m wings I have roll beautifully, but then you have the landing speeds of them which are less forgiving and if you're going to be landing anywhere rocky it can hurt. They also have rubbish glide angles so ok for big mountains but not much good for anything smaller and you need very high wind speeds to soar 8m wings too.

Hey, in this video there is my Gin Nano 12, my Gin Nano 10 and my Niviuk Skate 8. It depends what kind of flying terrain you will be flying and how steep it is and what previous canopy experience you have, but if you are just starting flying get something bigger and safer and let us know how you get on :)

Thanks :) I've not flown the XT16 or Firefly yet, but I'm sure they are great wings. Personally out of those 2 wings I would choose the Firefly but it completely depends on your canopy experience and what kind of terrain you are wanting to fly really, my first wing was my Nano 12.

hey guys- been watching your vids over the last year or so- pretty mental!!! what happened with that barrel roll? me and a mate are pretty happy with spirols and getting smaller wings than the 14 nano's we have been on for a good while. what would you say was the most barrel friendly? cheers. jon

Nice work Mark and Ali, you guys are nuts (but you know that already!) Just wondering how many flights you had to do to make up this vid? I watched Russ do it and he was down on the beach in less than 30secs, or was the wind so nuts you actually got lift out of your wings?

You cant use patches for overall high porosity due to wear. Paragliding-tales-and-reviews(dot)com say fabric can last up to 6yrs, with speedglide make it double, with HG - more than quadruple. Proper elegant landing with HG is on your feet with no step.

@Superterminal: used HG is worth equal to new speedglider which you cant use that much long due to canopy wear.

Get a 747 - you can be 30,000 ft above and have food and TV :)

get HG - you can be 500m above and not feeling like a rock going out of lift zone :)

Thanks glad you like the vid. My brother went for one of his early barrel rolls when we were still learning and put it into spinning line twists... He somehow managed to kick out of them with his skis on happily :-)
