nice video. IMO you have way too much substrate. You only need 1in not looks like 4in. You have less water for the fish etc to swim.

I should change over to some canisters.. hmm maybe if I put them in a bucket in case of leaks Smart to do that outside.. less likely for spills and most of all less likely to get into trouble

Good video dude🎉 I’m a hygger and Fluval fanboy because they make solid well working products. I have a couple hygger mini air pumps that power the hygger 3in1 sponge filters on a couple of my smaller tanks. Virtually silent and haven’t given out yet even after a year of continual use.

My bane are obviously new to fishkeeping youtubers who tell you the "answers" when it's obvious they have no idea what they are talking about.

A tidal hob will also do it.

Funny thing about formed images of people you interact with ( whip). My wife encouraged me do a channel and share , my 16yr old set up my channel and edited my first video. Had to learn quickly and do it my way . Recently last 2 weeks had the fleeing thought( any idea why?😅) really enjoy sharing my experiences and the feed back when i help someone with an issue. The tube friends have been amazing and meeting people I would . not have otherwise. When my wife kept nudging me to do you youtube, i said the same thing, what am i going to say that has not been said before??. It will be your unique ways of saying the same thing. There is a little space for everyone. I dont worry about the competition, do what makes you feel good, which is what is what the hobby is supposed to be

Lol ... Yes all the time . I am just a guy who does everything with his phone I am in the same boat as you just less grandkids. . Its tough to come up with content and wont put out a video for the sake of putting out a video . I try to get out a video 1-2 a week I have been doing UA-cam for about the same time Slow and steady Best thing is I met good people like yourself

Yes, I've decided to only watch UA-cam once every few days and gave up making videos a while ago.

The biggest reward of doing UA-cam to has not been the number of subscribers or the number of views i get. To me, it has been being able to me great people like you and the many others who i have met over the course of my 3 years I've been on UA-cam.

I have thought about quitting a few times in the last couple years. Every time I do something happens that get a me excited about it again so there must be a reason. It’s a great place to meet like minded passionate hobbyists and I enjoy learning about and from everyone. If I ever stop making videos I still would be involved in the community the key really with it all is creating a structure of how long I can spend with it because the wife gets upset if I spend all day doing involved on my videos

I recently got this filter, it’s been 2 weeks and I’ve noticed the water flow intensity has significantly decreased. It was shooting water out great the first to day or two, but now it is close to just dribbling I’m not sure what’s wrong or how to fix it. (It’s on the rainfall feature)

When it comes to the time I spend on UA-cam, what I've found much more fulfilling than trying to churn out content is simply interacting with the community. Visiting all the live streams and hanging out in the chat and discord, livestreaming for more real-time interaction, and developing real friendships within the community. The video creation becomes secondary, basically a couple of passion projects I'll do each year - when and if I have time. So if you're feeling burned out from the content creation, there is a lot to be gained from this platform outside of that! But we all have to find our own way, what fulfills us. Above all else, stay authentic!

I recently found your channel and like your content. You do you. Many times, i watch multiple videos on each subject. Many times, I gravitate to folks whom i respect. You can gain viewers just being you and not worrying about what your videos are about. If you've come across something that you feel motivated to make a video about, make it.

40%-50% weekly water changes for my 8 tanks. 135, 75, 3ea 29, 2ea 20 and a 10g QT tank. Seems to be working, Fish multiply and plants grow like crazy

Happy Sunday, Scotty! I'm gonna toss in my two cents on this. First, and what I think is the most important, is what you do have. You have your take on the subject. And remembering that is crucial. I think if and when we try to compete with the big UA-camrs we're just setting ourselves up for dissapointment. And by no means am I saying we could never get big. But a lot of these people are using paid, professional editors. They may have spent time studying things you mentioned like scripting. And then there are those that just have a knack for it. I do it cuz it's been fun for me to share my tanks and my experience, and the little bit of knowledge I've picked up along th eway from fellow UA-camrs like you. I feel like us smaller UA-camrs have developed a kind of community that the larger channels either never had or have left behind. I'll be honest, I'd love to get monitized here. I'm also retired. I know I'll never make that six-figure income like some UA-camrs. Hell, I doubt I'll ever even hit the five-figures. But I figure any little bit would help on the ole fixed income. It's taking time but I'm heading in that direction and I'm having a blast doing it. So I share what I share because it's fun. And yeah, I guess if it got to where it wasn't fun I'd probably be heading towards the door. Anyway, just my two cents. And have a fantastic Sunday! ~Ron
