Why your Instagram reach sucks!
I have seen countless posts about creators who are unable to reach their followers on Instagram. They blame the algorithm. In this video I am giving my opinion and theory about the purpose of the platform and why your followers may or may not be engaging anymore and how you need to create for an audience.

35mm For The Soul | Why I Shoot Film Sometimes
Переглядів 532 місяці тому
I love shooting 35mm film. I don't do it all the time, but that makes it even more special. I love the ability to slow down when shooting film and getting to experience that anticipation for the final image reveal. The film photos were shot on a canon Ae1 with an FD 50mm 1.8 lens. The film used is mix of Ektar 100, Kodak Gold 200, Fuji 400, and Ilford 400. I'd love to connect with you in my com...

    How would you light the couple if they would be inside the barn on the other side? Would you do a four light set up (in every corner one flash) ? Or just two flashes from the side next to the couple?

    Your ad200 is turning off because you are touching the battery-side end of it. How do I know? Because I dropped my unit from a light stand twice, on the same end you mentioned. So whenever I touch that part a certain way it’ll turn off/on because as you said, there is a split. . I placed a rubber band around it and the rubber grip I bought from Amazon to hold it together. Works fine. They are pretty damn durable! Shockingly, you never mentioned its best accessory- the h200r round head. That is my go-to accessory.

    There are no cons to this light for me. The AD200/Pro will always be amazing and super versatile. It's only underpowered if you're trying to use it for something that should be used with a more powerful light anyway. The bare bulb is best for using the light inside modifiers as it spreads the light in every direction. I've never had anything go wrong with mine so far. I want at least one more. Still one of the best lights ever created. Small form factor, powerful, great battery life, the recycle time is great and the light is just super versatile (lots of accessories, including lights that use the AD200 as the power source). Incredible light.

    love this. this is so perfect for someone like me who takes my polaroid to parties n ends up printing 15 photos n giving half of them away!! love analog but it def costs me a LOT so this seems like the best alternative

    you'd only ruin the top film sheet if it was exposed to light .Unless it was in full direct sunlight where some of the others may get edge fogging. You're creating a problem that doesn't exist.

    This would make sense if the content was actually shown to your followers, but when your followers never see your content in the first place, they cannot engage with your content!

    • @Nichiltonphotography
      @Nichiltonphotography Місяць тому

      Yes but you have to understand that if your followers are normally watching different types of videos, different genre of videos and they didn’t engage the last couple times Instagram did show them your posts, then combined that’s enough not to serve it to them.

  • @flamersss

    good video, but what would you say about the latest IG algorithm updates? l see lots and lots of people that used to get many account reaches, views, engagement etc., and they produce QUALITY content, sticking to their niche, but they are not getting the same engagement as they used to get.. Would you say this is Instagram just testing new algorithm's? it seems like they just want people to start buying ads to be pushed out, on top of that, the content is only being shown to HALF or even below half of their followers.. So confusing and frustrating, thought's?

    • @Nichiltonphotography
      @Nichiltonphotography Місяць тому

      I mean like I said, it doesn’t matter if the content is quality. If it’s not what the viewer is interested in at the time, they won’t see it. They’re definitely testing new things as well, but I looked into a bunch of accounts that claim they aren’t getting views anymore and it seemed pretty consistent to their other content. Every account goes through waves of higher and lower view count so I haven’t actually witnessed anything exceptionally out of the ordinary

    I have all sorts of lights but for travel these are great. It's the 400W head that makes it so versatile that, in a small bag with a V100 pro and some modifiers and I have so many options. I can use the 400 head it in bright light and then take one out for a second light, V100 can be a third light and I have on camera. I can't find anything that comes close.

    What is the reason you avoiding using group A in both scenarios?

    • @Nichiltonphotography
      @Nichiltonphotography 2 місяці тому

      Because when I use the speedlite on camera to fire the the AD200s the speedlite defaults to group A. I want to be able to keep the AD200s seperate from the speedlite, and I switch back and forth from speedlite/trigger on camera and keeping them off group A ensures I’m always ready to have the speedlite by itself on group A

    Great explanation. I know my Godox V860II can act as a trigger for my other flashes, but I’ve never used it. Your video opens up a lot of possibilities. For example, use the on-camera flash when wandering around taking pictures of guests at the reception. But then switching to off-camera flash when taking pictures of speakers giving toasts on the other side of the room. Would be cool if you showed some behind-the-scenes of your lighting setups in action. Like you could film BTS with an action cam and then record commentary afterwards. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

      You are exactly right. And that’s a big part of what I do, is lighting certain spaces with off camera and when I wander out of that zone I rely on the on camera. I do have some content with bts and plan to do much more this year!!

    I think Markus pix would have a heart attack seeing the dual head setup. His opinion is if you are going dual, you are better of with a 600. It is cheaper per Ws and has the same size as a dual 200.

    • @Nichiltonphotography
      @Nichiltonphotography 6 місяців тому

      You’re not better off with a single 600 if you split the 200s up for 90% of the day.
