    Is that the m300 arisaka body? Are you using a cr123 or 18350? I’m building a light set up for my 10.5 project and I have the m300 arisaka body and was looking at the malkoff e1htv2 head because I didn’t think modlite heads would work with a single cr123. I’m still a noob when it comes to lights lol.

    • @loganglosser81
      @loganglosser81 23 години тому

      This light body is the 18350 series. And I'm using 18350 batteries. So far I've had good luck with them. There's supposed to be a small drop in candela with the 350 batteries compared to the 650's, but I haven't noticed it. I think you're right about the modlight heads not being supported with a single 123 battery. However, you can't go wrong with malkoff or arisaka products.

      @@samkestan1210 It’s my pleasure. This one is a Centurion Arms barrel though. My newest one does have a Criterion Core 14.5 in it and I do like that one as well. You can’t go wrong with either company. If you’re going for a precision build then the stainless barrels will work well, and you’d want to go with Crmov for your higher round count stuff. Nice carbine , since it uses the updated caliber of 8 x 56R , most people call them M95/30. Original caliber being 8x50R . They had the infantry rifle , carbine & Stutzen , the difference being the sling mounts . I have an infantry rifle , infantry rifle shortened to carbine length . A Budapest , converted at Budapest . A Steyr carbine / stutzen converted at Steyr and a Steyr converted in Bulgaria . I don’t have a Steyr made contract carbine for Bulgaria or any in the original caliber . The dates on the rifle/ carbine are not when made , but when accepted into service by the army , yet at date & time most likely that was the year it was made . And yes they do have a kick to them .

    I have gotten one from Blue Steel. The bolt was turned down and all matching. I had thought it was to fire 8mmx57 Mauser, yet mine had been rechambered to .30-06. I expect by the Argentine military, when US was shipping out tons of ammo after WWI, did the work on my rifle.

    • @magnus9165
      @magnus9165 4 місяці тому

      Lots of times they rechambered for 30.06 they would leave the old barrel intact. The 30.06 has a .308 diameter barrel. The 7.65mm barrel diameter was .311. The leaves you will gas loss and bad bullet to rifling issues. I am not saying that is the case with your rifle, it may have been re-barreled or even re-rifled. You could check the diameter yourself or take to a gunsmith. The 1909 Argentine Mausers were all originally chambered in 7.65 Argentine. That caliber was the caliber that Belgium used when they started building their 1891 Mauser, they called it the 7.65x53. Same cartridge. I have several Argentine Mausers both1891 and 1909. I have never got one to shoot accurately in their original military configuration. The 1909 is a sought-after variant of 98 Mausers. I found a nice 1909 sporter that a guy going through gunsmithing school made as his first custom rifle. It is a dandy and chambered in .270 Winchester. I had to get the safety fixed, but that was cheap. I paid like peanuts for the gun at a pawn shop.

We ain't perfect and that's why we train. That being said, watching your videos is frustrating because all we see is your weapon. Consider rigging your cameras to show us what you see when you're engaging targets. The "point of aim" view if you will. That would be super dope and great content. Keep training brother. Just know, if you're like me, there isn't any satisfaction unless there is someone eating those rounds at the other end. Maybe there is satisfaction in 2 & 3 gun competitions. Cool old school type build. I have a Colt with a C4 fsb cutout. It's my F'ed iteration of a M4gery. 😂 Really the biggest advantage of the A5 is it eliminates bolt bounce. And it has more mass being rammed forward so it in enhances reliability. Plus the operating envelope is spread further out cause it increases unlock time. (Even when gas port erosion starts coming into play.) Allowing brass to retract so the extractor isn't ripping brass out. Those Core series barrels are nice barrels.

      @@loganglosser81 Yeah I fanboy for Colts. I have a lot of them. Not that they are the best or anything. At one point they were dirt cheap circa 2009-2017. I have two of the 6920 Troopers. The first one I bought was like $879.00. The second one was $989.00. They have the Centurion CMR MLok rail on them. My original Colt is a A4 style Colt competition H-bar that has a real deal Holyfield M16 Gov't barrel on it. My roomie at one of my units in the Marines was a armorer and he rebarreled it for me. It has a Midwest quad rail on it. (Not as good as a Centurion.) Back in 16' I went to a gunshow and bought 2 Colt 6940 lowers. Dirt cheap. $275.00 each...Last day. Guy had them and nobody wanted them due to the fact they were not M4 roll marked. The cloners were paying way more for M4 marked Colt lowers. I wish I had bought the five 6940 marked that he had. 🤷🏼‍♂️ But I didn't. My first 6920 that I bought after the Marines is M4 roll marked. It has 30k plus rounds through it. I just replaced the upper after a rebarrel job. FSB 6921 CK uppers in 2021 through early 2023 were going for $399.00, with no BCG, CH and backup sight. Round handguards. Needless to say I have a few of those uppers. AO Precision phosphate BCG's that were military overruns were $69.00 dollars apiece. I bought 12 of them. 😂 My BCG collection is another story. And a deep dive into my paranoia and eccentricities. Colts not my favorite rifle company. Sionics is out of AZ. That's another story too. My favorite fun gun is Maggie. It's a 6921 Colt upper on a poverty pony lower with no logo. With all Magpul stuff. SL Stock, SL Handguard, K grip, light mount, everything Magpul. Just put the new dust cover and ESK saftey in it. It has a Aimpoint T2 on a Larue 1/3 mount. I used a Schmid Tool LPK on it. The one with the QMS trigger. It's the most buttery smooth single stage. From the package it felt like a well worn in milspec.

    Stainless barrels are not cold hammer forged. Stainless barrels, by nature of the steel, usually on last fewer rounds before the groupings start to open up. As a general rule, on AR15 style rifles, if you want 1MOA accuracy replace the stainless barrel at 4-5K rounds. If you don’t mind 3-4MOA accuracy then replace at 10-12K rounds as the groups will start worsen at that count. So when you say 13K on that rifle it is getting up there in count for consistent accuracy. Even if it is a stainless Criterion Barrel the metallurgy does not change. My favorite stainless barrel is a KRIEGER BARREL which is the maker that Knights Armament chose for their Light Precision Rifle (LPR). But the constraints of a stainless barrel still hold true for the Krieger Barrels as well.

This was the first and only stainless barrel I've owned so I have little experience with them other than what I've experienced with this one. Dude looks like he is well trained! Some good shots there according to what I’m hearing. Does a moving object increase difficulty when it’s behind the target?

      I appreciate the kind words! The white target in front of the swinger was considered a “no shoot”. It sort of represents a hostage. They usually add 10 seconds to your run if you were to shoot it. So yes it does add some difficulty.
