A conversation about mental wellbeing with David & Sam
Sometimes one can feel they are pushed out from areas of their own brain. Accessing areas of one’s own brain is important to try and stay alert. I have used a copying mechanism throughout my life, which I now call ‘Impicogination’. I came up with this word by blending three words, which are: ‘imagination, picture, and cognitive’. I use this method when I am in bed and trying to sleep. I suspect a lot of people do this already, which is a conscious dream where one can control. I believe everybody has an imagination, but it is being able to access it. First of all, imagine for instance (somewhere you like) a cabin, and the wind is howling outside, the fire is crackling, and you are curled up cosy in bed. This gives a comfort sensation to the chest relaxing the mind. You can decorate your scene with associated inhabitants and other related objects. For instance, an owl could be hooting outside amongst the thick trees, it is dark, soft and tranquil. You may even draw a quick picture like a doodle, you do not have to be a good drawer. Sketch for instance a burrow under a tree and imagine you are a little door mouse curled up for hibernation for the duration of winter. You can do a gnome cavern, or be on a beach on a hut with the waves gentle hushing a ‘SSShhh’ sleep… Or perhaps a glade, a glen, gorge, valley thick with trees, and one is hidden within the undergrowth. You can go that bit further and bring in another character, maybe he/she can knock on the cabin door. It is ‘play rolling’ the mind. You can imagine a scene in a film that you like, or if you have watched a wildlife program, and picture your favorite scene or habitat, imagine you are there. Perhaps the hero then leads he/she off in the direction you want. Put yourself into a character and play he/she, maybe taking them on a journey with great adventure. Be confident about your imagery, after all we all know what grass looks like, and trees, smells, textures, ambience, atmosphere, weather all come into the fantasy, this is exercising your imagination and breaking back through into various parts of the brain.

Captivating and fearless... Couldn't look away... and deeply deeply moving. You're an amazing artist David, never stop growing... and maybe growing as an artist is your "moving forward"! A favourite quote of mine that I like to apply to my creativity: “If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you.”

Tell me please, since I've been wondering since the day of this gig. He did play The Defeat differently right? I mean they stayed on the same chords from All Down The Mines and just progressed to Mickey's moog sound but in the same pattern or something. The song feels totally different.

The visuals were really good but the show was worse than watching paint dry. And that wasn't just me if you see the reviews of this tour a lot of people said the same thing and even at the 3 arena people were giving out everywhere
