Lower arm fix for FGID2466QF3A Replacement link to Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZNCBNE/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_9.yhBb92R91Y2 Orbitclean Edit - August 2023 - It looks like this is a knock off name arm that is cheaper these days. www.amazon.com/dp/B09WGZDF6X/ref=syn_sd_onsite_mobileweb_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_plhdr=t
Thank you! Very poor quality and high price for the gallery series, I hate mine. The dishwasher arm in between the blue and silver piece is uncleanable and full of gunk! Nasty mess. I am replacing mine.Thank you for the item link.
We have a similar Gallery dishwasher, model FGID2468UF1A and the tube that snaps into the bottom is narrower. So unfortunately your alternative lower arm will probably not fit. Therefore I'm stuck purchasing a 2nd blue spinner in the last 6 months. Thanks for the video
I had the same problem as Graham Jones below - I have a newer model (FGIP2468UF) and there doesn't seem to be a replacement arm that fits the lower arm mount on our dishwasher. I did find a fix though - make sure your dishwasher is level! Take the lower spray arm and mount out of the dishwasher (along with the lower dish rack), and place a small level directly in the center above the drain. My dishwasher was higher in the front due to my not seating it properly the last time I took it out to work on a clogged drain hose, so the spray arm was fighting gravity trying to rotate all the way around. Once I leveled it the arm spun freely! It helps if you have a metal bowl that you can put in one corner of the lower dishwasher rack so you can hear the spray arm rotating around and hitting it.
I have the same dishwasher. Mine started leaking at the corners at the bottom of the door, so I replaced the bottom door seal and also the regular door seal. Then it kept leaking as before, so I tried replacing my bottom sprayer like you suggested, and now it appears to have fixed the leaking problem. I think the old bottom sprayer wasn't spraying correctly and caused the water to be flung at a hard pressure onto the door thus causing it to leak at the bottom of the door. The bottom sprayer on this model is a poor design. Good catch and great video.
I have to do mine, I’m glad I found you. Thank you.
Huge, been having the same issue. Very helpful and glad it’s an easy fix! Thank you!
Did you replace the upper are sprayer also? Mine has same problem on the uper sprayer as well
I hope you're right. I'm having the same issue
I’m having the same problem with my just installed dishwasher. They are sending me a new part because the blue piece keep coming off and now is melted from being in contact with the heating element. If it doesn’t work I will order this part. Thanks
Good luck!
You make good points Eric. A rotating unbalanced mass doesn't make much sense without the addition of a better support system maybe a closed bearing vs plastic on plastic at center support. Could see centrifugal force eventually wreaking havoc. I like Orbitclean in concept but it looks like Electrolux needs to reengineer this, maybe two small orbit sprayer on each end vs one large on one end.
Thank you! I bought mine used and just cleaned it and my dishes still weren't getting clean. This is my next option. Thanks for saving time and money!
Glad I could help!
what is the part number on the package for the new blade?
Here is the one I’ve been told works now. Can you let me know if you try it and it works? www.amazon.com/dp/B09WGZDF6X/ref=syn_sd_onsite_mobileweb_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_plhdr=t
Hu Eric. Just got arm you suggested and it won't fit over the white plastic piece in the bottom of dishwasher where they old arm came off. Did I order the wrong one our do I have to take the piece out of the dishwasher?
It should pop right on. The price of these and availability has changed over the years. I just put a link to another one in there now. Maybe try to return the one you have and get that one now. That link is - www.amazon.com/dp/B09WGZDF6X/ref=syn_sd_onsite_mobileweb_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_plhdr=t
Is that model no. from Amazon the white spray arm you used as a teplacement
Yes. But I believe this one may be a knock off brand that works just as well. www.amazon.com/dp/B09WGZDF6X/ref=syn_sd_onsite_mobileweb_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_plhdr=t
I had a similar issue (lower spray arm not turning, thus dirty dishes) In my case the solution was to replace the lower spray arm support. While it seemed reasonably sturdy, the plastic indents on the inside of the support had worn down just enough to prevent sufficiently sturdy support for the lower arm. (Needs to be particularly square due to off-balance design of original arm.) So, check the condition of the inside of your lower spray arm support. (Part #62 on parts store diagram) That plastic interfaces with the plastic protrusions at the top of the pump cover (#10) to keep the support rigid. If it’s not rigid enough it won’t spin and dishes won’t be as clean as they should get
Interesting. In my case I tried a brand new one and it didn’t change. Hopefully yours works now. If not try a new old fashioned spray arm and it should work!
Will this fit F2A
I don’t know for sure. But if the connection looks the same I would try it. You should be able to return the part if it doesn’t fit.
Can you please tell me the SKU number or how I can find this new part on Amazon? My arm came detached from that blue wheel.
Try this one www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZNCBNE/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_9.yhBb92R91Y2
Thanks man, this has been making me nuts.
Glad I could help
Mine is having that issues now smh.
It’s an easy fix at least…good luck
Where did you order the part? And Order name or number pls! Thk you.
www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZNCBNE/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_9.yhBb92R91Y2
You just saved me! WTF kind of shit design is the first imbalanced POS? Thanks my man!
Agree! Which one did you purchase? Since I made the video I’ve seen different options out there.
Exact same problem with mine!
Did you order a new spray arm? Let me know how it goes.
@@mortgagemanmn Frigidaire factory part out of stock on Amazon! Will probably buy a knock off I guess!
Thanks so much this was helpful and we found out ours want even I right
The metal cover on the bottom of mine got stuck on the coils. I had to rip it off, does anyone know the purpose of that metal cover? Is it really needed?
I think that is the filter. It’s a good idea to have it there but you should be able to do a load without. A replacement should be cheap.
This a 4yr old video but thanks. I'm hoping this work. I was about to order a new motor. My dishes dont be clean after was on bottom rack. Everything else work. Heater fan sump pump and water valve. Will order this and hop for the best..
Good luck. I think it will work. Please let me know once you receive the part. Installation is very simple.
Thank u for that video I have same problem I will try your teary
Thank you
Did it work for you?
Thanks, this worked for me.
That’s great news! Happy to have had a hand in helping.
Please help. The top sprayer is doing the same thing. To the point where I can’t even put a plate in it without it being hit by the spinner! Anyone know if this works for that one?
Sorry. I’m not familiar with that one. I’d see if there is a traditional looking one that you could try to replace it with.
Mine fell and melted and now my dish washer smells like burn plastic
Great video - this solved my problem of dirty dishes after a wash cycle! Thank you! 😀
Great to know! Glad it worked.
I had the exact same problem. Same dishwasher, spray arm getting stuck. The dishes in the back were getting clean, but the ones on front stayed dirty. I didn't know you could replace the fancy (bad design) spray arm with a normal one. I tried to add weight to the back of the old one to try to balance it, but it still wasn't working well, so I followed your advise and popped on a new one from Amazon. The machine is working as good as new now.
It’s a bad design with no support. I’m glad this is helping you save some money.
Definitely gonna give this a try! Our dishes are dirty and the arm is melted all over cause of it hitting the heating element. Thanks so much!
Good luck. Tell me if it works. It should!
I ordered the part and it didn’t fit. The threaded base is too large. My dishwasher model # is FGIP2468UFOA. Do you know which one might fit it? Thanks so much!
I wonder if yours is a newer model. I would run to an appliance store and see if you can find a similar model with this type of spray arm. Play with theirs. It’s so easy to remove you could test fit in store??? I’ll see if I can find anything the next time I sit down at a computer.
@@mortgagemanmn ok, thanks so much for the swift reply! I’ll look into it more as well
@@grahamjones2223 I’m having a hard time finding it. Try Amazon. Look up 5304506516. See if you can find any that look right. Look at that one and look at the suggestions. Remember it’s not going to be the “correct” part so you most likely won’t find anything saying it’s a match. It may take a few times but you should find one that fits.
@@mortgagemanmn ok sounds good man, I’ll figure it out. Thanks for your help
@@grahamjones2223 If you find a good fit. Report back. It could help someone else too!
Thank you
Badass! Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks man
Glad to hear!
how the heck do I get the metal plate to stay in place in my replacement ?
It’s been a few years since I did this. What metal plate? My replacement just clicked right in.
I known the metal plate ur speaking of. The replacement doesn’t have one. That’s why I replaced the original. Because the metal plate warped and wouldn’t stay snapped in
great video information for this dishwasher, the arm that he replaced worked great!
That’s great! How much was the part? I assume part prices have increased…?
The blue part that came built in my washer actually melted mid cycle. Called Frigidaire and they basically go hire someone to fix it. Then I came across your video, needless to say the new replacement part is on its way. Thank you so much.
Glad I could help. Good luck with the replacement. It should be an easy fix one you have the part.
Thank you! Had the same issue!
Thanks 🙏🏼 so much. Mine is 4 months old and sucks. I have taken the entire thing apart!! Ordered piece!!!! Can't thank you enough.
I have the exact same dishwasher can you help me I have code ,30 had to shut the breaker off otherwise it will just continuously drain. Thanks for making wonderful videos 💖
I’m not as familiar with that. But see if this video helps. ua-cam.com/video/0jZ8DTbaLrc/v-deo.html
What is the part number on this? I couldn’t find it with the one on the sticker
154568001. I believe they changed the part since the time I made this video. Type that into Amazon and try that one. It should work.
Brilliant Eric. Thank you. The blue wheel weights 5.2 ounces dry - I would assume while it is running it weights more because it is full of water. A package of 48 1/2 ounce adhesive tire weights cost $9 at Harbor Freight, more than enough to do several dishwashers and about $20 less expensive than the replacement arm on Amazon. The *very* approximate weight of the water the blue wheel holds is 1.2 to 1.5 ounces. For the purpose of describing how approximate this is the methodology I used to arrive at that figure: I taped up the holes in the blue wheel, put it on an electronic scale and zeroed (tare) the scare to this dry weight. Then I slowly poured water into the wheel until it was full. My course of action now is to head to harbor freight and buy the package of adhesive tire weights. I will apply 6.5 ounces as a counterweight to the blue wheel.
Interesting! Let me know how it works.
@@mortgagemanmn My local harbor freight was closed yesterday, so I didn't get the weights yet. I will let you know. I noticed there is a gap between where the blue disc and the grey arm connect. These two parts have about a 1/16 inch gap between them where water (pressure) can escape. There should be a nylon washer here but there isn't. Before re-assembling yesterday to do a load of dirty dishes, I made a small plastic gasket to fill most of this space. My load of dishes came out clean - but there are other factors too. I made sure running the dishwasher didn't coincide with other things that would lower pressure such as laundry, sprinklers, or showers.
Just received the part and dishwasher working great! Bless you for making this video.
Glad it helped!
THANK YOU!! Worked perfectly.
Thank you!!! Just got the new part in today, and I can tell the difference with the first wash! almost bought a new machine
I was ready to buy another dishwasher until I came across this video. The $15 generic replacement B0842Y1L6T works great for me. One thing I noticed is that the new spray arm is much louder than the one it came with. I wonder if the weird design of the original is for noise reasons. Thanks for saving me so much money!
That’s a good note about the noise. I guess I never noticed but could be a reason. Glad it worked.
Sorry but the arm no B0842y1L6T replacement part on amazon either doesn’t fit on the Frigidaire gallery dishwasher
Thanks bud! my dishwasher's blue rotating disc kinda broke off and landed on the heating coil and melted a big chunk of it. I was looking for a replacement disc but now I'm just gonna reaplce the entire arm. Simple n easy!
Same exact thing happened to mine about two weeks ago! I HATE this appliance set!
Thanks, looks like a bad design. I'm gonna try this thanks. And the part # is..Frigidaire Dishwasher Lower Spray Arm 154568001 154414101
