This is quite lovely. More of a song for cello and piano. Brings out the melancholy of the cello. I love the piano part in particular.

This is an awesome clarinet quintet. Not that far removed from the Max Reger. It's her opus 119 so obviously she wrote a lot of music. She's teetering on the brink of modern with this piece. I like it a great deal. Recording very clear and well balanced.

An absolute Masterpiece by Felix Mendelssohn. Coming on the heels of Beethoven this is so significant. A very important work. IMHO this piece immortalizes Mendelssohn in the history annals even more than his violin concerto or his 3td & 4th Symphonies. This put him on the map indeliblely. The first time i heard this piece 15 years ago it hit me like like a ton of bricks ! Still does !

This so rich and lush. So mature for an early opus number by Korngold. What was he, age 20 when he wrote this ? This piece really grabs you. I was going to dismiss it. I can't.

The finest of the Bruckner Symphonies. His ultimate crowning achievement masterpiece.

Beautifully French Impressionism. So delicate and endearing. Fine performance.

Turns out Ernest Shelling was an American Pianist, Composer, Conductor. Born 1876 in New Jersey and Died 1939 in Manhattan New York. He was Conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for many years.

Most enjoyable. Very urbane. Played extremely well. He's a composer I'm not familiar with. The name is German but the music has a French quality to it. I must find more about him and hear more of his music. This is really, really quite good !

Bravo ! A most fine and refined string quartet. Tuneful with great harmonies. A Neo Romantic or Post Romantic work. Certainly he was bucking the trend of music in 1939 by writing such a tonal quartet. Very enjoyable and entertaining.

This is a big , bold, lush, gorgeous, piano quintet. Such melody and great writing for each instrument. Great development of the themes. Late Romanticism. Played so wonderfully. The sounds that come out of this quintet are sensational and exceptional.

Sounds very Mozartean

This is pre Brahms influence. Closer to Beethoven in this first string quartet. His style is alrrady there. Still so very, very good. All his quartets are great !

So beautiful and elegant. The part writing is so well thought out.

The 4th Violin Sonata is the best if his violin sonatas. Very lyrical. Played very well and recorded very well. Wonderful German Romanticism. The second movement is where Gernsheim gets his most harmonically daring.

A fine Piano Quartet played excellently. The lyrscism is really brought out here. Great sound too. This is so good.

This is the last piece of music Gernsheim wrote and it's a true Masterpiece. No more Brahms influence. All Gernsheim. This is such a great quintet. Fantastic music and performance. He went out with a bang ! ❤❤❤🎉😊

No more Brahms influence in this. Oh, how splendid this is. This needs many more recordings. I love this. More chromatic harmony. A true symphonic poem different from his symphonies.
