Nice vid. Stumbled across looking for ideas (I'm not terribly creative, but can apply much of what is learned) for a narrow side yard area. Some things to point out: -Block cutting If your setup is like this, this is the way to do it. Measure, mark/score blocks, keep in mind blade width, but I'd still recommend making 3 cuts. Across the flat, down the side to keep the line, then across the opposing flat. If you're going to rent equipment, consider a block cutter, or pneumatic block cutter. Thing looks like a guillotine, but damn the cuts are much less labor intensive, so much less dust, and clean as hell on the cuts. -Alternating blocks Yes, it looks nice, but the main thing here isn't the arsthetic. Alternating the blocks is leaps and bounds more structurally stable, won't have to worry about frost heave. -Blocks Good choice in vid. You want to avoid the blocks with cavities. Sure they're cheaper, but moisture gets in, and when it freezes, they'll eventually crack/break. Long term they'll cost you so much more. If you can, get solid blocks with the pin holes (interlocking), especially with load bearing projects like this. Simply place the base layer (usually on grade 5 gravel compacted layer), then slide the next row in place (gets rid of imperfections reducing gaps), drop in the interlocking pins, repeat until cap time. Then glue, slide caps into place (spreads glue and gets rid of bumps). -Grass The grass on fence side may pose issues maintaining, can go up to fence with wall, and add french drain style along fence side. This'll help with maintenance, and grading as water won't flow toward house. Box beds, or gravel border can look nice, and is a cheap adjustment. -Video Scripting is a biggie. On the fly is nice for "walk with me" direction, but can clean up the length, cut pauses (umm/err/repetitions) by jotting down an outline, and expanding on each point. If under 10 mins and going for monetization, you can add sections for how much spent (money, time, expand time by noting impediments from weather or daylight hours / exhaustion). Still short of 10 mins? Intro covering last project "we did this, here's a before/after pic, check out that vid in suggestion or link in description." And outro like you did, but add a "for next project, planning on tackling <area>, here's a pic preview, stay tuned." -Audio Was super quiet, two main ways to address if quiet speaker would be better mic (looks like iPhone / samsung headphone from vid, consider upgrade to proper line mic), or in editing adjust volume. Overall, learned a bit, chill vid, great explaining reasoning and problems encountered, nice highlight of how the space was used and why, great highlight of the process, thank you for not using a potato camera, will check out more.
