4-14-2024: "Your Future and God’s Faithfulness"
Salvation gets us all onto the eternal bench, but it's up to us whether we're willing to try and carry the ball (of God's will) further down field or not... ... satan despite being spiritual, is not God - so he does not have infinite resources, when we do (biblical) good, he loses in some way.
The last one like that was in Manassas, I was stopping for dinner and struggling over a (spiritual) attack in my life - and as I stopped in the parking lot, a young guy in a minivan is there with his kids and his van won't start... and he reached out to see if I can help. His van was worn, he didn't have probably the resources to call roadside assistance - and God used the situation to encourage me in the process, just as I was hitting a low... God sustained me with a new friend to help in the evening, to move my focus off of my concern - and to move the Dad's focus off of his concern.
It's funny b/c I've always carried jumper cables in that truck, so if I see someone stranded on the side of the road over the decades - or with their hood up in a parking lot, I could always stop to offer help... and I've found God uses those people. If I happen to be out and discouraged over some (usually massive) storm in my life - I'm driving and praying about the problem - and all of a sudden, there's someone at my window asking if I have cables to help them start their car... God's timing in the midst of my own storm, puts me in a position to help someone else - and makes my heart joyful, that even though I can't help myself... he gives me an opportunity to help someone else.
Pastor is definitely right about God supporting us in many (ie: manifold) ways other than just giving us more money, I don't know how people manage to live in the world outside of God's timing and providence... ... for me, God has kept my old (black) truck running for nearly 400,000 miles now - I use it daily, it's dependable and cheap to use, it's been such a blessing since I bought it new 27 years ago. :)
Once we begin following God's leading, we can begin to see who's most regularly influenced by the (true) enemy b/c when we get on the right path for a topic - the same people will unknowingly respond adversely around us time and time again... and they generally have no idea why, but like with Christ - they assume we're up to no good, when we are doing nothing but good.
When we finally decide to chase after God beyond listening, the (true) enemy really comes out of the spiritual woodwork - and generally the channels in your life that trouble usually shows up in... begin to all light up, b/c they are (unknowingly) trying to turn you away from eternal effectiveness, the 4th soil in the parable of the sower.
The (true) enemy knows he can't defeat salavation - but he can render us eternally ineffective here if we're willing to turn away out of fear and not wait on a path through.
God is constantly trying to speak to us through the circumstances in our lives - but we have to know His word to recognize them, otherwise it doesn't get noticed.
Despite being spiritual, satan is not God so he doesn't have infinite resources to apply in the world - the more people that do (Biblical) good, the thinner the enemy's resources and effectiveness becomes.
Yes, if we are walking in God's will - satan has little to use for (spiritual) impeachment purposes against us outside of occasional mistakes... just like if we're not breaking the (physical) law here, it's a protection to us in a human court. It forces the enemy (spiritual and human) to start fabricating false claims to supplement a lack of true claims, which God protects us from until the truth is finally revealed.
God can use even evil for good, b/c good is all that God does... when God is engaged on our behalf, good has to be the end result.
Making mistakes as a Christian is ok, becoming an expert at making mistakes as a Christian is not ok... :)
Excited to hear 2nd part: under Grace!
I anticipate that the original drive-thru window was to boost profits, which also ultimately lowered nutritional value and negatively impacted society's patience... all of the dynamics that we'd expect to see for reasoning that follows money as the priority. We cannot server God and money, at least in part b/c one is building on eternity - and the other is falling apart... so they are already at odds with each other (ie: an oxymoron).
If we use the onset of drive-thru restaurants as a gauge of how the physical (nutrition) was impacted over time, it seems the same has happened to the mental (patience) trend over time too - both results were negative. I think doing anything in haste is prone to making more mistakes rather than less.
Online says the In-N-Out Burger built the 1st drive-thru restaurant in 1948, maybe they contributed to today's desire to get things quickly and on-demand... rather than waiting. It's a little ironic that "fast food" nutrition has nose-dived along with the high speed food access.
Just as the Lord's Prayer and Be Attitudes - I find the Armor of God is similar too... (belt of) tell the truth; (boots of) choose the path of peace; (breastplate of) do what's right; (shield of) maintain your faith in all circumstances; (helmet of) remember your salvation and don't give up; (double edged sword of) use God's word in all decisions. Wearing the Armor of God as Paul recommends, is walking it out in our lives as our protection - going into storms, making it through storms, and coming out of storms in life... when we lean on God and the world pushes against us, they end up pushing against God instead (even unknowingly).
Similar to John 8:44, the (true) enemy is also the Father of using "human shields" in this life - we should remember that terrible people are just openly captive to his schemes and traps... the problem isn't the person (ie: not of flesh and blood), it's the spirit behind the person. If we attempt to remove the person only as the world does, the enemy just moves into what's usually an even worse replacement - but if we ask God to deal with the spirit behind the person... then the problem goes away entirely (within God's providence and timing), and isn't able to maintain the problem from person-to-person any longer.
Believers should remember that the (true) enemy isn't God despite being spiritual, he does not have access to unlimited resources any more than we do... and the more of us that are dedicated to doing (Biblical) good, things will get better here over time as the enemy's influence is gets smaller and smaller.
“Is prayer your steering wheel, or your spare tire?” - Corrie ten Boom... are we spending time with God about where we're going (ie: steering wheel), or are we just pulling off on the side of the road in life and using prayer to fix problems after they happen (ie: spare tire).
People are often wondering if they're actually saved or not, apply the Bible to your life - and you'll quickly see God show up to help... and you'll never have to wonder if you're saved again. Once you know God is there with you every step, you can't unknow it by choice - the "Adam and Eve effect" but for good (today) rather than evil (in the garden). I would imagine the (true) enemy hates it when people get a Godly angle on his methods. :)
What I find is - when I put Biblical principle into action in my own life, the world finds a way to push back against it most of the time... and like all the stories about the people in the Bible, God makes a path for me through the pushback just like he did for everyone back in ancient times - and my faith grows each time I see and walk it out.
If we can determine that what the Bible says is still true here and now in present day, then we can be confident that what it says about after here is true too... which is faith, but not a blind faith as many would wrongfully suppose.
The good thing is - any believer can determine this "God stuff" isn't just a bunch of lies... b/c all they have to do is put the Bible to flight (ie: application) in their own lives, and they'll quickly see it's always true every time they try.
Thank you for this encouraging word. God's purpose is greater than we can understand.
Another great sermon.
Absolutely convinced I did NOT find this by accident.

This was so uplifting, powerful, and practical. Thanks, Pastor!
It Is a great thing to announce to the general public that I have been saved and redeemed by winning a power ball lottery with a spell and a winning number from Dr Ekpoma. I heard he has helped a lot of people until he helped me this month to win my first $500,000 from power ball
Pastor, that was a wonderful sermon, and so needed today. I pray God will awaken His People all over the world to what He is saying and may we be aware at all times of what He is doing, and speaking, to each of us. Lord, I pray You never take Your Spirit from us, keep us close to You. Give us Your Eyes, Your Ears, Your Heart, for this broken world. Amen.
