Nice instructional vid. Thanks!
@happyadventurerides, that looked like a great trip, do you have the route plan as I would love to do the same trip
@@ThePathfinderGBR-ZA thank you for your comment. If you download the scenic app you can find it there. Hope this helps and works. scenicapp.space/route/eRKHORFp
@@happyadventurerides thank you bud
Thanks, same problem over here. Will try it asap if this also works for me. The fact that your lever adjustment gives you also a problem is probably because of the additional rubber dempers on your grips..
@@mrrvdp Thank you for your comment. I hope you got it sorted.
no gsa?
@@aleochete no sorry, toke it to BMW and thy asked me for a lot of money I don’t have. Needed something that’s not to heavy but good on and off road and cheap to maintain.
Another great video, thanks.
@@peterkillick5995 thank you for your comment. Happy riding 👍
Really helped. I gave in and purchased a new switch to play it safe! Many thanks!
@@shelsmith2001 I’m glad I could help. Happy riding and stay safe
I have a 2018 1200gs and I have been struggling with the clutch switch for more than a year. The service crew assured me it was ok but I found it was still intermittent in starting after they checked it. Thanks to your video i found the switch and was able to re-position it which corrected the contact issue. It now starts in gear successfully. That is a sneaky little mounting screw under there. I would have not suspected it was holding in the switch. I was not willing to adventure into the unknown by myself, so I sincerely thank you. As others have said you saved me a ton of money. Cheers.
@@dennis22g Thank you for your comment and I am glad that you have got it sorted out. Happy riding and stay safe 👍
Thanx man I finally got it on my 1250RS thanks to you.
You are welcome, happy riding 👍
you bloggers, when you shoot a video, indicate that you have a BMW since 2013, because there are problems with the search, for example, I ride a 1200 2011 and have problems with the search for my model, it gives me completely different generations of motorcycles.
Okay, point taken and I will remember it for next time. Thank you for your comment
To much talking just do it already. It's not rocket science 😂
Thank you! It works on my 2017 GS adventure K51. I Just adjust the clutch lever adjustment from no.1 to no. 2 onwards to no. 3 and no. 4 and it can start in gear with clutch pull in. Except if the clutch adjustment is in no.1 (the narrowest) and it can start in gear with clutch pull in.
🙏🏾
Geez get to the point already.
excellent info!
That’s a great location for your quad lock/phone. I think I’m goin ]g to do the same!
Thank you for the comment. I have mounted my phone in many different places just to find the sweet spot. Happy riding 👍
@@happyadventurerides How did you fasten your quad lock to that bar? My quad lock won’t attach to a skinny bar like that. Hoping you have a trick to make it work. Thx again!
@@57Adventures I used a mirror mount from quadlock. You can buy it online at Amazon or other websites. Hope this helps you.
Good man
I find it easier to put my hand lower - under the subframe, rather then the grab handles
Thank you for making this video. Thanks to you, I was able to locate the switch, remove it, bend the tines and fix the problem of the switch not working. I put it all back together and everything works as it should. I can now start the bike in gear with the clutch lever pulled in and, more importantly, I can change ride modes on the fly. You saved me a ton of money buy not going to the dealer. Thanks again!
You are welcome, happy riding
Hello friend. Congratulations on the channel, excellent work. My ESA Suspension stopped pre-charging, I checked with Motoscan and it shows error A329 "Engine operation Supply voltage between 9 V and 16 VZFE is correctly configured (Enduro ESA) ESA front shock absorber servomotor is activated Start key not activated" Can you help me?
I’m sorry but I have no came across this problem before. There might be someone who can have the answer on a web form but unfortunately I don’t know. Hope you can find the problem to have it fixed. Good luck and happy ridding
which year is this GS 1200? Mine from 2005 does not have this problem, but I guess it has simpler checks - no Christmas tree when turning the ignition key on. However, I have a Triumph Bonneville 1200 that once in a while would not start, the mechanic told it's the clutch lever switch that is not adjusted properly: the engine starts only when the clutch is fully pulled.
The year of my GS is 2015
I think the reason why the engine will not start if the clutch is not fully in is because of safety. I’m not sure if you can replace the switch on the clutch but I know the frustration behind it. Hope you can get it sorted out. Happy riding
So I have manage to break the screw head leaving the screw inside... Any ideas on how to pull it out? Maybe disasamble de entire part?
Disasemble the part might be tricky but if you can hammer a small screw driver in and try and get it to twist out then that might save some hard work. There are websites for another screw out there.
@@happyadventurerides Yeah, will try as well. Thank you for the reply!
@@atomicgrasshopper4391 You are welcome, hope you get it sorted out. Good luck and happy riding.
Mine is doing that on a 6 week old '23 GSA. Can't wait to get home tonight to try the clutch adjustment
Hope you managed to get it sorted
I hear you visited some wonderful friends on your way home! ❤
lol, so I did. What a great time I had thanks to my wonderful friends. 🙂
I keep reading that suspension techs want your shock set to one rider, and on soft, prior to removing your shock and shipping it. Do you think having the ESA setting at "hard" had anything to do with having to perform this manual reset? Thanks for taking the time to video and post this.
Thank you for your comment. I think that if you remove the shock and replace it, it automatically assumes that it is in 1rider and soft. The reason I think is to make it easy to install or remove. Shorter and softer but don’t really know. A BMW dealership will charge about £50 - £60 for a recalibration if everything goes wrong and no longer respond. Hope you found this helpful.
Very helpful indeed. Thank you!@@happyadventurerides
The suspension shop wants you to do this to remove all the spring preload, making it easier for them to remove it from the shock.
Hi.. Great vid... One quick question.... What make/ model helmet is that?? as it looks to be just what i'm after... Cheers... Si
Thank you for your comment, the helmet I’m using is a NEXX X.WED2. Very light and best one I have had so far. Happy riding and stay safe 👍
Love to see a man happy on his way to work 😄 hope you have better weather than l had on ya hols 🤘
I just love my bike 😂
Happy. Love it~ebst - 👌
Thank you for the comment 👍
I hate this problem with every inch of my life,
WELL DONE, GOOD VID
Thank you for your video I have a 2015 BMW R1200 GSA and following your video I fix mi issue, not start on gear and the driving mode it was not working (Rain, Road, Dyna, etc) at the end everything works just fine ......
Thank you for the comment. Glad that it helped you and hope you enjoy your rides more now that it works 👍
So what did you have to do for the tyre pressure not reading? I have same thing. Intermittent not reading....
Thank you for your comment, I have a video about the tyre pressure sensor on my channel marked as (9) and it goes into more details about what I did to fix the problem. Happy riding
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I was able to fix the same problem on my GS by simply adjusting the lever setting.
You are welcome, glad it worked for you.
So much love 😍😘 tq 4 ur tip
Great video I’m going to try that when I get home
thanks, these are termed micro switches I'll try that but maybe a dose of wd40 on the switches will help eh

Nice one. I kept thinking how much further away from the toilets is he going to go? Me, I’d be…….20m is far enough! Lol.
75% too much talking but other than that, thanks.
i put a f800gs stand on my f700gs, i haven't been able to get it on the center stand yet, and thinking maybe its harder because of the lower suspension and smaller front wheel, is this a possibility or should I be able to get it on the stand alone?
How to take three minutes to show something that takes five seconds to do.
Really useful for anyone who has just nicked a GSA but has no idea about bikes or how the centerstand works and is 6 foot 5inches and 15 stones +
Nice video. Just 1 word of caution when bringing the bike off the center stand with the side stand down, do NOT put your foot under the side stand or foot will get crushed/broken. For safety, I always have the side stand up when bringing the bike off the center stand. Do as you see fit. I mentioned this to a friend, he said "I don't want to crush my foot". My reply, that is why it is called an accident.
Hi folk, I have exactly the same issue with a f 800 gt, and I'll try It just un case It can solves the problem. If not I'll have to replace the switch.
You are riding like a pro, friend. A pro knows his limits and stays within a margin of that for safety. You've probably figured out why your hands were tingling by now, but if not, check out MCRider's channel. He has a good video on that topic.
Thank you for the comment, I will take a look 👍
