First Red ball its very Fast and I survive Red ball
It is confirmed that the colors are based on the difficulty. Green: Easy/Original difficulty Yellow: Medium/Normal Red: Hard/Difficult. I do not know if these are the correct difficulties but to me its like that

According to the wiki the red variant makes the balls faster however you take only 10 damage
my friend she say “if you play fun flood at quishy but the ball is red , the red ball make a flood very fast , if the ball is yellow make flood is slow and if it green make flood little bit fast and slow

i imagine the different colours as different difficulties
they are yellow: slow but more damage default: normal speed and damage red: fast but less damage
