3rdly - our enemy likes to Distract us in Any Way he can... AWAY from Jesus. Satan knows we're Basically GUILT laden... so he can get us to Acuse OurSelves!!! If he can Get us to Acuse OurSelves... then he can Keep our Heart and Eyes from RESTING in Jesus who OVERCAME the World. !!! Our EYES... MUST! remain on Jesus if those "snakes" coming into our camp are going to be Subdued. It's difficult for me to explain this... because as I said... Satan has spent a TON of time getting our minds Deeply ingrained in Guilt, Shame, and Accusation. ( :

I believe our Enemy the devil has spent a TON of his "time" (Revelations 12 - "for he knows his time is Short")... a TON-of-his-time... Training us into thinking it's "All Our "choices"" and it's Really All About Us Having Done-Away with OurSelves... and... Basically going Against Eph. 6 by saying in-the-end it's all OUR fault. When in FACT... we are ALSO flesh-and-blood- and "our" "battle" is not really even against US. The TRUTH is... he's a deceiver - lier ("native language") and Etc Etc. In Fact... JOB's struggles (for nearly 40 chapters) were BORNE out of the ENEMY's dealings. In Fact... SATAN is the one at Fault quite-nearly all the way aROUND. Now I Realize We Make Choices. And Often they are WRONG ones. And Satan gets us to where WE are the ones..."At. Fault." - "lilly-white HIM" is "Innocent" (he wants to think)... But I DO Not believe All-of-this Goings-On in-the-world is really US at Work Ruining our-own Lives. I'll stop. But I Believe ONLY. in the Words of Eph. 6 (and other places)... That "Our Battle is NOT!!! Not-Not-Not. Against ANY!!! Flesh. And. Blood." I could say more about Satan's state as an angel (of light) and his "might"... taking into consideration what the Bible Says about the "might" of angels as comparison... ANYway... Yes. We're... At. Fault. But the prima-facie Fault ACTUALLY lies... with our enemy. It is my HUMBLE opinion... that God is Using Satan's Manipulation and Attacking and Deceptivity to Grow US Up! Thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. It's encouraging to know that someone watched and thought about what I was saying. I understand your point, and yet the Apostle Paul tells us in many ways that we do have to examine ourselves and give thought to our choices. We need to "take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ Jesus" (2 Corinthians 10:5). We need to "put on the new self" (both in Ephesians 4 and in Colossians 3). We need to pay attention to temptation and know that there is a way of escape (I Corinthians 10:13). And so many more passages-- Our paying attention and living intentionally is a big part of what the Apostle Paul has to say to Believers. I don't think the biggest reason that Believers don't grow and change is that they think they are at fault for all of their sin. At least I meet many more Believers who don't give much thought to sin at all and kind of drift through life without considering the choices that they are making. Of course, that might just be a reflection of the Believers that I meet and interact with. There are certainly groups of Believers who having been immobilized by legalism, which is a different problem than I am attempting to address here. Thanks again. I've been re-reading Job the last few days--a timely comment.
@@wendyanneclark - OK, well, yes to all you said. I know all those passages. My comments were not a black and white "answer". We do need to think on those things. No question. But I see this Over and Over - Paul (as you mention) says (and "it is written", bc it is Father-God talking, not Paul) -"we are not unaware of his (Satan's) schemes" - and yet SOO many Christians ARE unaware, bc we Don't Study the FULL counsel of God. I'm not saying you don't - this is a general statement. God will fight the battle, and also has FOUGHT the battle through Christ. What I see happening in the Christian world is... they use what Jesus did to sweep away scripture - basically using Christ' work as a reason to be lazy. I'm NOT saying you're doing that. We Must Learn... from our Father-God, Jesus-C,... ..but presently, it is God's Will that the Holy Spirit teach us "all things" as Jesus said he would; and the Father would send Him (the HS) for that purpose. [It's extremely difficult for me to express what I am presently attempting to say - but... nonetheless,... when we read... we must Not read {and again, I'm not saying YOU'RE doing this} we must Not Read... with a Law Based perspective - but with a Learning and Inquisitive perspective. ... .] This "perspective" as mentioned above HELPS us to Learn ALL that Father-God is saying taking into account ALL of the inspired word- the Bible... with Jesus Christ, name-above-all-names, as the focus. Praise HIS Name Forever. He is HEALER. He is LIGHT. He's our Strength in the fight. He's the doorway. He's the Gate. He's our Constant while we wait. He's our changer. He's our "New". He incorporates to embue. He's our evidence. He's our Brave. Jesus Mighty. Strong to Save!!!

Nope. Jesus--at the very least--was an historical person. No historian of any merit, even an atheist one, would deny that he lived in history. There is just too much recorded about him in secular, historical records to deny that he was a real person. We are as confident that the Jesus of the Biblical Gospels lived as we are that Caesar Augustus lived. Object to Jesus as Savior if you want to, but don't try to dismiss him as mythology. That's foolishness.

As you know Wendy I came to Christ in 1970. So here I was a mixed up kid. Pretty much a few months after quitting drugs. At the time there was a very vibrant movement of God happening .. Besides going to church . I attended several Bible studies weekly. One was led by a pretty prominent Jesus people Leader in the bay. We met in the bottom of a local Methodist Church. The place was always packed and we would sing worship songs usually accompanied by a single acoustic guitar. Most of the songs were songs based on the psalms And then He would open the Bible and basically teach verse by verse. For an hour or two. Now some folks (very prominent) have accused The Move God at the time was not authentic, liberal, etc. which I did not ever experienced including the time I went to the Tent in Costa Mesa Thanks for your insight. As always you are intelligent, knowledgeable, and insightful.
Those who missed the move of God, for whatever reason, often say it was no move of God at all, but those who were touched by the Sprit of God will never been convinced by their arguments. The enemy gets involved where God is working and causes trouble, but that trouble is not a sign that God was not at work and may even point to the way God was working so powerfully that the enemy rose up in opposition. I think history shows us that pretty clearly. A bland and ineffective Church is rarely opposed by the enemy in any powerful way. I have clearly seen the evidence of the Holy Spirit in your life.
