Hey, the Nic/Will combo is definitely slower rolling, especially in very muddy or uphill scenarios, you can "feel" the Will being not as good rolling as the Ray. I need to point out, the Nic on the front was soft compound, not speedgrip, as all the others tyres mentioned in my comparison, which also can have some affect on the rolling resistance. Although it may seems weird, I do somehow prefer the Will as front tyre, with something faster on the back, for my type of ridding, with my particular bike, keeping in mind I have a heavier wheelset with Conti Kryptotal/Xynotal for gravity style trails. I haven't tried the Racing Ralph, but I agree entirely. The thread pattern suggests that it's faster in the dry.

I haven’t tried the OEM Performance Shwalbes, but from what I’ve heard, the top of the line ones are much better. Glad to help you (or not 😅). Ray Ralph seems as a good speedy combo for you, Ron is more for the wet and muddy type of soil and trails in my opinion.

I have been running the same (as you) WW/RoRo combo last year, it was blazing fast! But I have snake bitten the RoRo, and thought according to weight and same casing the RRay should be tougher but equally good rolling. But I can feel the approx. 120 more grams on the uphills. Your Spur should be similarly behaving to my heavily modified Element. 😊

@@josericobaeza3270 I still need to try the Specialized combo (Ground COntrol/Fast Trak). Fast Trak / Fast Trak is faster than WW/RR, however the grip, cornering and breaking is nowhere near the Schwalbe combo. Fast Trak / Fast Trak, in my opinion, only for bone dry singlketrack without loose over hard, or rocks, since the GRID casing is lighter than the Super ground on the Schwalbe.

Thank you! The rim width on those rims is 30 mm internal. On my other set the widths are 33/29, however I haven’t used the same tyres to draw a clear conclusion. Before I’ve bought those two wheel sets, the default that came with my bike was 22 mm internal, and I didn’t like those at all. For modern tyres that are at least 2.35 this was to narrow, making the tyre very round and unpredictable. I think that everything from 27 to 30 is fine for XC, and 30-35 for trail/enduro, or bikes with better clearance.

Good idea! Those carbon wheels covered here are 30 mm internal, and I never had problems with the tyres, 2.25, 2.35, and 2.4; all were fine. On my alloy wheelset (33 mm front, 29 mm rear), I've got 2.4 Conti Kryptotal / Xynotal, and they are also fine. In my colleagues' and my experience, 2.25 is the narrowest I would use on 30 mm rims, as the tyre gets squared.

@@goingdowncountry I couldn't decide between the Forekaster and the Wicked will for a front tire (for a marathon race). I already have lots of Maxxis so decided to try something new. Your video was very helpful, specially the bonus tips, teaching about threat patterns (I run a Dissector front right now and keep washing out). So much useful information in a quick video. I made sure to order the Super Ground w/the SpeedGrip.

IMHO the new Forekaster (the 2.4 one) should be somewhat comparable with the Nobby Nic, maybe faster rolling due the slight ramping, but also it’s 940 g according to the R2 bike scale. Looking at other reviews, seldom they mention the tread pattern and no one explained how it affects the ride, that’s why I thought I could help some people with what I’ve experienced over the past three years.

Me va a ayudar a salir de dudas sobre el nuevo combo que le pondré a mi bike , venía teniendo muchas dudas sobre cuál poner, ahora mismo tengo fast track 2:35 trasera y ground control 2:35 delante la verdad es que no funciona mal pero quería probar algo diferente y me surgieron dudas de que cubiertas poner maxxis continental etc pero tu vídeo me encanta y me ha sacado de dudas. Hvala ti! za oboje kaj spominješ je možda premalo WW za naprijed, osim po full suhom vremenu i neke "plave" flow staze. Za taj 170/140 Kryptotal/Xynotal bez razmišljanja. A za 140/130 možeš WW/RR za suho, i ako misliš dosta pedalirat, ako si više na žici ili shuttleu, po meni čak dva Nobby Nica ili Nobby Nic i WW (ako ideš na Schwalbe) ili Forekaster novi i Rekon ako želiš Maxis. Po meni bi taj novi Forekaster bio nešto u stilu Nobby Nica, nisam ga probao, ali to mi je jedina interesanta Maxis guma. :D

@@goingdowncountry te nive Conti gume moram što prije nabaviti. Svi ih toliko hvale da se ne mogu obraniti. Nisam neki fan Maxxisa, u stvari jedino Aggressor i DHR su mi kod njih dobre gume. Preferiram Big Betty / Magic Mary za žičare i bike park... Ali kako nisam tu često koliko bih želio, onda je nazad upravo W.Will, a naprijed se igram, nema šta nisam probao osim eto Kryptotala... Npr. Znam da nije više u modi, ali meni je i Hans Dampf dobar. I Noby nic..

Super gume su novi Conti. Čak u trail casingu nisu preteške (1040g) za grip koji nude.

I agree, last year was though with the heat. This year the course was soaking wet, muddy and slippery. A “downcountry” bike is just perfect, just click my new video from this year in few days. 😉

Poco, da sam išao na veliku valjda bi n Hitnoj završio. 😔 A ovo se slažem za tehniku i znam sve to, sam jbg, kad nema snage i “daha” badava sve ostalo. Ak si ti skoro, mene bi zakapali. 😂

Bok, ovisi o tebi... Jel ti je bitno "kak brzo budeš došao na brijeg", ili hoćeš se zabaviti na spustu? A ono, ima ponešto staza, ali za večinu njih je trail bike sa 140-150 hoda previše, osim ak misliš ići do Sljemena ili Slovenije, relativno često. Ako si probao obližđnje šume, i to je plafon kaj bi oprema težini staze vozio, XC bajk, bilo koji ti je dovoljan, ako bi probao nekaj teže, moeš komotno neki fully gledat. Za kod nas (međimurje, Ivančica i ovi tu bregi na Vž strani), idealno je nešto kao ovo kaj ja vozim, 120-130 hoda, nabrijaniji XC full suspension, ide relativno lagano gore, a ide bogami i dolje i zabavan je. I naravno sve ovisi o budgetu.

Teško je to reći, idealno, najbolje ne uopće voziti i promijeniti.. a i ovisi kaj točno ima lufta, ležajevi, osovina, kurble? Ak su ležajevi u BBu, onda nije drama, jer i meni nakon mjesec dva imaju već malo lufta jer nisam "nježan" na doskoku ponekad. Ako nekaj drugo ima lufta, bolje promijenit, jer ak osovina ili kurbla pukne, može se razbiti zube na volanu. 😬

Svaka na mjestu i to sa izuzetnom preciznošću 🤝

Ja se obično zalijepim iza jačih vozača i na startu izletim za njima tako da dobijem poprilično čistu stazu prvih par stotina metara onda pokušavam održati poziciju i nabiti neki svoj tempo

Ispričao sam se, možeš prihvatiti i ne moraš. Samo ću reci kad ja dođem na stazu koju ne znam se ne guram, i respektiram bolje vozače, domaćine i stazu sto možeš vidjeti iz mojih snimaka. A drugi puta slobodno se uživo obrati pa si popričamo. Nije bed.

Specialized Fast Trak 2,35 T5 Control

Jednu koristim, oko 50 min može snimati na 5k30, i onda palim/gasim. Ak znam stazu ili ak mi se čini da bude nekaj zabavnog.

Da klasika... ma gore na 6:56 sam fulao liniju skroz, inače bi ga riješio već na početku livade preko onih panjeva 😂 Znam da bi me na usponu natrag prošao, ali nema veze, fun bi izgledalo za video. 😄

Bolji course je ove godine, singletrackovi su iskorišteni za spust 😃

Generalno se može, ali ovisi o masi bicikla. Na ovaj za dva bajka idu bicikli do 20kg mase svaki prema službenim podacima. Znaci ako vam je ebajk lakši od 20kg ide.

A da, za specifične slučajeve je idealno rješenje! “Lokot” im je u dolasku, jer je tek nedavno izašao. Ako uzimaš i prihvate i bočne i dva za bajk, ispadne ista cijena. Frend je uzimao prošle godine i bil sam pored kad je plaćao tak da znam kolika je cijena, ako na krovu nemaš ništa. Ak već imaš ove po dužini, onda nije ni skroz poštena usporedba, realno.
